My wife and I found a kitchen table and chairs that we wanted to purchase. After an in-home visit and selecting the finishes we were given a quote over the phone which my wife and I discussed and after another call to get some clarifications that it was the final price, including taxes we gave them a credit card down payment. Nothing unusual as wed been through this process before with other vendors. As the finalization was done over the phone we dont have any paperwork. Shortly thereafter the salesperson left the company and we were told the set would arrive a few weeks later than expected and the price had gone up a couple hundred dollars due to the higher end finish. My wife reiterated that wed been given a quote and insisted they honor the price. It seemed like we were done at that point and just waiting on the pieces. We were informed the pieces arrived yesterday. However, theyre now claiming that the quote didnt include sales tax (several hundred dollars) and they want a $75 delivery fee. My wife spoke with the owner who wouldnt budge. At this point Im planning to contact my credit union and reverse the down payment charge and well never work with these folks again. Its unfortunate as we have a living room, family room, dining room, & master bedroom to refurnish. Theyve lost our business. So, make sure you get everything in writing. Dont trust any verbal agreements. Make sure the agreement includes delivery ($75 is outrageous for delivery, nearly twice what weve paid for other deliveries). To contrast this experience, we had another company order a sectional for us. We had a rep come out to see if itd fit down the stairs to the basement. Everyone thought it would fit, but when it arrived, we found we couldnt make the turn into the basement stairs. So they had the unit disassembled, redelivered and reassembled and covered the cost. When the unit got into the basement we realized they had *reversed* the sectional when they placed the order. The owner worked with us and offered to let us keep the unit and see if we liked it in the reversed configuration and offered a discount for the inconvenience as well. The owner also offered to let us keep the unit while another was ordered and built (and with the implicit disassembly/reassembly of the units to get in/out of our basement).

There seem to be conflicting reviews in regards to the customer service here. Let me set the record straight...had an awful experience with one sales lady. After she took my money she didnt call me. I was the one who had to call and check to see where my order was. Everytime I would call she would say "HI :) I was just about to call you." After the third time it got old. I was promised my couch in 4-6 weeks. Listened to her lies weeks 7-11. Luckily she was out of town week 12 and Holly was there to help. She was very nice and helpful. Didnt get my couch until week 13!! Sad thing is they have a nice show room and furniture. BUT, you can find it all somewhere else, and with MUCH better service. I would NEVER do business here again!! If you do go there ask for Holly, but take my advice and save yourself the hassle and headache and DO NOT shop there! Mary Anne if you read this it has been 7 weeks since my couch was delivered with the wrong pillows. Have not heard from you and I am still waiting for the pillows.... ;)

In response to Troys comment, he was given a better than usual sale price on his sofa, we also lent him a great sectional through the holidays so he wasnt without one. How many businesses do that? He was kept up to date on all the delays regarding his sofa. The company he bought the sofa from wasnt standing up to their remarks on when the sofa would be in, we did all the customer service we could with them. We also gave them two extra pillows to go with their sofa. It is very hard to please some people and we at At Home do our very best. Sorry you felt as though it was the worst experience of your life.
