The management team at the Whole Foods Cottonwood Heights store is nothing other than inept. This fact begins at the top of the chain of command with the store manager Devon, followed by his two team managers for the prepared foods area Sadie and Josh. I doubt if the three of them have any managerial experience prior to their working at this store. Their unprofessionalism, lack of concern for their employees goes way beyond ineptness, fringing on ignorance when it comes to scheduling breaks, lunches and filling in when necessary. Rather, they continue to demand an employee to run the entire department by himself. They asked why pizzas werent available; simply take a look at your skeleton crew. No one is available except the only responsible employee there, and he is totally alone. In fact this individual was the dish pit man but he was expected to do 5 jobs at once and then gets written up for not being an octopus and being able to cope with the lack of team members. This young man also just received a commendation for "Best Customer Service Representative" just a few days ago. Shame on you Whole Foods for portraying a wonderful working environment when it is actually a very different place to work indeed. You need to take a look at your management team and coach them to be proactive, schedule a department with adequate manpower and have the intelligence to see the actually problems within a department. I will tell all of my family, friends, neighbors, church members and any one else I can muster to boycott this eating establishment. The only pizza that was eatable was made by a young man by the name of Rusty. His garlic knots were also the best from any of the others and simply perfect. I learned today that this young man with so much potential quit because he couldnt take the unfairness of these managers. It must have been an emotionally stressful situation to fight a losing battle day after day, even when you know you are doing the very best job possible. Its your loss Whole Foods. I used to shop here most of the time, but now I just go for the stuff that is better than Smiths or Harmons. The cheese department is truly exceptional with very knowledgeable staff. Supernatural brand dairy products are amazing. The meat is dependably good with no hormones/antibiotics in any of it. I buy a whole grass fed steer from a rancher annually so I just fill in gaps here. Most of the prepared foods dont list ingredients including breads, sausages, etc... There are 5 brands of bacon and all contain cane sugar. You have to track down an employee and get them to print out labels to find out what is in the food. It is not worth the hassle as I have dietary restrictions so I have to print tons of labels before I find something I can eat. They used to list ingredients and I have no idea why they stopped. Maybe they just think people in Utah dont care. The CA stores always list everything. My local Smiths often has better produce and it is much cheaper. Harmons has good organic produce which is also cheaper. They also have good organic bread now. It is easier to find out what is in the bread at Harmons.

I went to the meat counter for ground beef at 1:00pm on 5.31.17 and the guy was just stuffing some brown paper into the trash can, he looked up and asked me what I needed then came directly over without changing his gloves that he had just had in the trash as he stuffed down the paper. Then was a challenging kind of rude when I said I need 90% ground beef. His reply was challenging as he said they are both 90% so which one. Which he said in a rude abrupt manner which is what I mean by challenging. I said the one here and pointed and he again was rude and said I cant see your finger... which one. I then said the one that is 6.99 a pound to which he again was abrupt rude and said I cant see the price. I said thank you then left. I shouldnt have to battle to get something from the store and the guy should have also changed his gloves. that was not sanitary in the least!

Even though Whole Foods is pricey, I still love it. It is one of the only grocery stores I can go to and make a single trip, meaning I dont have to run all over the place just to get a couple of the specialty items I know I cant get at the regular store. But I know I can get regular and specialty items at Whole Foods. Always have different type of sales. Some stuff I have noticed I can get cheaper at other places so I just make note of that and select those various items when I am out and about near somewhere that carries them It is amazing the amount of alternative food they have gotten creative with and come up with for people like me with severe food allergies! It is a huge blessing and allows me to enjoy things I have had to suffer through or ignore all together in the past.

I live less than 10 minutes away from this whole foods and I will go out of my way to Trolley or Draper. I have been buying organic vegetables for years and they have the worst selection that wilts the fastest. I have even bought vegetables and the next day they are bad, but the expiration isnt until another week. This is the one whole foods that Ive been to where I have to actually go and ask people for help rather than someone coming up and asking me. They have a tiny selection and I can find more organic products/brands at Harmons or elsewhere. The place just feels dirty and the toilets in the bathrooms are rarely clean. In comparison to other Whole Foods, this one just really have nothing to offer.
