The staff is friendly enough. But, like Kmart in its latter heyday, this store is a cluttered mess. In fairness, this review is posted post-Spring 2016, after two humongous hailstorms. Everything in and near Wylie continues in disarray and has been for a couple months. In many ways, this store looks like Home Depots Ground Zero for recovery from those storms. The store is well-stocked. Employees arent particularly friendly, nor have been for the ten years weve been going here. Systems, like buying Propane for grills, are intended to make it easy. A couple months ago we were there and all credit card systems were broken. Last fall, well before the storms, we attempted (again) to use their automated Propane system (where you supposedly dont have to go inside). It was again broken. After numerous unanswered automated Assistance Calls, and being delayed by employees, we had to physically call the store and ask for a manager (while standing in front of the store). We complained that this was another occasion where this system was broken. The manager replied, "Im sorry. We hear that all the time. Sadly, the big bosses wont do anything about it, however much we tell them its broken and makes customers unhappy." Pros: Well, stocked. Generally pretty knowledgeable staff, though not generally intentionally helpful. So far as I can tell, they havent gouged customers post-hailstorm. Kudos on that! Cons: Broken systems (e.g. I will never buy Propane there again). Cluttered and haphazard atmosphere (aisles cluttered, product cramped together). Inattentive regional (if not local) management. Generally, it feels disorganized.

This store takes 3+ hours to offload a trailer with their freight. The receiving department actually tried to be "funny" asking a handful of staff "Who wants to unload this guy?" Seriously? Their staff fails to realize that these drivers are on a clock that doesnt stop and they cant just punch out and go home. Many are stuck looking for Safe Havens for their mandatory 10hr break after burning up over three hours of what couldve been 7 productive hours of service. The store manager makes excuses rather than providing solutions. He actually told a driver that they were short on forklift drivers and only one was working this particular day. That person, being the ONLY certified forklift operator should be SOLELY TASKED with the loading and unloading of freight. Any number of other staff can point people to nails and screws! This stores management is anything but professional and I hope their corporate powers that be catch wind of these comments. This store didnt open last night! The bums they contract for security are a joke too! The women employees are trying to get trucks offloaded in a timely manner and customers pull in to the offloading area they have staged out front. Instead of helping the women staff maintain order, they sit in their vehicles, with headphones on while these ladies are being cussed at and argued with! This, by far, is the worst run store in all of this area! I think they forget that if not for these drivers bringing freight, theyd have no business to run.....

If youre on Home Depots website reading a review. Dont trust it. They rejected a review I submitted on an Anderson 4000 Storm door as follows: "REVIEW NOT POSTED Thank you for your product review submission. Unfortunately, your review did not meet our guidelines for posting on our site for the following reason(s): Some type of content that did not conform to our guidelines." What was negative about the review? It wasnt because of the Anderson door. It is fantastic, well built and worth the price! It wasnt beacuse of the installation. Mark of RF Installers (Home Depots contractor) did a superb, professional install of the storm door. It wasnt beacause of the price. It was reasonable and comparable to Lowes (Lowes Larson door didnt have the color we wanted). Why, most like it was because I gave a negative review of Home Depot. It took almost two hours to place a special order. Their people were poorly trained on their order system. The price of $97 was for the install but then tell us there was an extra trip charge to come measure our door and an extra charge for additional materials (they did mention the materials). They did eat the trip charge! Then on top of all that, they dont alllow you to pay for the entire bill. Youre required to come back in and pay for the install. My criticism of Home Depot is their procedure is cumbersom and not customer friendly.

Since the hail storm that devastated Wylie there has been a lot of traffic in this store , you would think management would accommodate this influx of traffic by increasing the staff. Well this hasnt happened and last weekend (Saturday) I was left for more than a hour at the loading area waiting for my product! Apparently I wasnt the only person having issues as myself and 6 other people waited for assistance with variance equipment that had been waiting longer than I had. This is the worst service I have ever experienced and the management at this Home Depot should fired. Needless to say I cancelled my order and others did as well and went to the Lowes and was in and out the store in less than 20 minutes. The only bright side of the whole ordeal was the cashier by the name of Ideuna that actually apologized on behalf of the company, the manager was no where to be found.

I rented a SDS max plus tile removal bit for 89 dollars for 24 hours i was going to return it late by 4 hours and asked for the half day rate on the additional 4 hours. No problem there. but when i got in to return it they would not work with me wanted to charge for 2 days. i offered to bring it back at the end of the 2nd 24 hours they said they would have have to make two tickets. I end up paying $190 to rent a tool that only cost $500 for just over 24 hours of use. These guys are a rip off beware. i could have bought the tool in 3 days rental. and one weeks rental on the SDS was only $240. i have rented scissor lifts and had them delivered for better rates than that. Not happy with the rates on these low end hand tools.

As always when visiting the home depot wylie the employees there are quick to help me find what I need to do the project that I am working on at the house ,and they make sure that they greet my 2 dogs when they come with me which is always .we are always loyal to the home depot wylie and all of the other locations, we went on vacation 3 years ago and every town we went through we stopped at the home depot to take a break and visit with the employees there we enjoyed the visit. Thank you home depot. .Fred jerger of wylie rx. I give that store a 5 star rating for the knowledge of the people that work there, the store and they layout makes it easy to find what I am looking for

I drive up here from Sachse, and it is safer than some locations. Like most home depots it is crowded. They have what you need though, when you go there, so I give it 4 stars to make my home projects doable. My main reason to not do 5 stars is that the employees are on two extremes, they are either way over the top too interested in helping, or they wont even look at you or say hi as you walk by. So for that reason, its not 5 star service.
