Buyer Beware when dealing with Crown Motor Company of Tyler, TX. They may very well take advantage of you during the sales process if you appear inattentive. The purchase was made 18 May 2015. It seems that we were seen as a couple of Senior Citizens who could be taken advantage of easily. There were several loan add-ons, none of which were ever mentioned or otherwise discussed during the sales process. And, none of which were to our benefit. One in particular was a high-dollar service contract with a third-party company. Not something we wanted as the vehicle was still in nearly full warranty, with high quality, low failure reports. Another was a very expensive loan insurance policy. All of which increased the total loan and the cost of the loan in total interest paid. We never would have added such items to a loan and would prefer to pay for them as separates if they were something that was needed or wanted. The Soul Plus has since been refinanced at a savings of $2800 over the term of the original loan. Read everything very carefully, especially the sales contract and any sales attachments, before you leave the sales office. We had decided we wanted to buy a Kia Soul. Via the internet I looked at my first choice, Southwest Kia in Rockwall, TX, 30 miles distant. They didn’t have any on hand. Crown Motor Company listed two 2014 models and indicated others on hand. We chose to drive the 80 miles and take a look with budget value in mind but expected realistically that it would be more. We looked at several Soul models and one model, a 2014 Soul Plus, stood out in both apparent condition and low mileage. A good combination and obviously one that the sales person had in mind for us. We were well treated by the Crown Motor Company Team during and following the sales process. During discussion about the loan and payment, even the sales manager came out to talk with us. Our red-headed Granddaughter was with us, enduring the long process. The sales manager, made all the right compliments, even showed us his children who were also red-heads. A very nice family and a good family man [sic}. But none of the items as add-ons were mentioned. So, being totally off guard, we went to the signing process with confidence that there would be nothing that would be out of line. We never saw the sales documents until the meeting with the finance officer. To be fair, we did not take the time to do a detailed review the contents of each document. That was a mistake! However, we feel the finance Officer should have commented about each document. And he should have, as a minimum, at least noted the important parts for our consideration. That was not done. As the saying goes, Caveat Emptor!

I have been to Crown Motor Company on Troup Highway, Tyler Texas 3 times now, mind you is an hour away from where I live. The first time I came up there to buy a car, they gave us the run around saying we had to show $5000.00 in our account to get a new car. So we could not prove that at that time so we went home. 2nd time was a year later and we go up there again trying to get a new car and yet again got the run around said that they couldnt get us financed. So in April I go all the way to Conroe, Tx which is about 3hrs away from me and I bring home my brand new 2016 Kia sportage. I made appointment to get my car serviced, you know the first oil change and tires rotated. Get up to the Tyler Crown Motors and they tell me that they are fixing to close but will go ahead and do the service since I had appointment! They tell me that it is done and that I owe $49.95, now I was told from Cowboy Kia in Conroe, Tx that because of it being brand new I could go to any Kia to get my car serviced. So why was I charged?????? So now to the kicker that really has me major PISSED!!!! I get all the way home again mind you I live an hour away but I get home and I found out I was charged to have my tires rotated but that they was never rotated to begin with. How do I know you asked???? Well I have a nail in my passenger back tire and guess where it still is..... on the same side on the back!!!!!!!! I want to know why was I charged and what do I need to do to get good service from your company?????? Now I have to take off of my job yet again to drive all the way there to get my tires rotated, and Im now concerned that maybe my oil didnt really get changed!!!!!!

Let me start off by saying 1 star is not NEAR a low enough rating for this place!! I hate crown kia with a passion, and thats sad because unfortunately for me this is the only dealership I have bought cars from. Let me exlpain, it all started about a year and a half ago...i remember it like it was yesterday. I had a perfectly good truck, and for some stupid reason felt the need to get a new car, so I did. Actually a 2013 Kia optima sx "certified pre-owned", yeah right! I bought the car in longview and half way home the gas gauge showed zero gas and the check engine light came on. Here starts my nightmare, I got a loner car from them and they could not figure out what was wrong with my car, so every other week for about 2 1/2 months I was in a loner so they could "fix" my car. After about 3 months of this I got fed up with it and went to the Tyler dealership and they helped me get into a 2015 vw gti **sigh of relief**. Finally all my troubles were over right? WRONG!! So here it is 9 months later and I go online to change my payment info, and it says Im in a lease! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? I know Im reading this wrong, surely these sneaky bastards didnt put me in a lease to get my payment where I neede it without me knowing right? Well Im wrong and now they sold VW to Patterson and "cant help", please heed my warning and DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM HERE, I don;t care if theyre selling cookies STAY AWAY. If I was Jack King Jr, Id be embarrased to say I own these two places. Please learn from my many mistakes.

First off... My wife and I had been shopping for 5 days prior to finding the PERFECT car at Crown. We even drove all the way to Ennis from Van only to be given the run around. To say the least, we were aggravated with the whole process. Enter Clay Walker Crown Kia Tyler team. Clay spoke to my wife over the phone and told her exactly what we needed to bring to shorten the process. My wife and I have way less than stellar credit, and Mathews financial team helped us find a finance company to finance our dream car. Throughout the wait at Crown, we had everyone from the finance manager, to general manager, to pretty much everyone that passed us stop in a hold a genuine (or what seemed to us to be genuine) conversation with us. The vibe there is amazing. It isnt stuffy or suit and tie at all. They are friendly and approachable, and it lends to the atmosphere there. It took a while to negotiate with the bank, and even then Jason still wasnt happy with our interest rate. He sent us home, in the dream car, and explained that he would work on getting us a better interest rate. Im no idiot. I know that the car sales industry is not entirely honest and a lot of people go into buying a car with a healthy fear. I also know the process can be difficult and frustrating, but we were incredibly impressed and pleased with the wonderful service that we got at Crown. Thanks Clay Walker and Crown Kia Tyler team. You guys made this a great experience.
