**** second half of review***** After 3 weeks of no resolve or call back from SouthPoint my family and I were on a family vacation when a blow out rendered us helpless on the side of the road with 4 dogs, a trailer and a baby while 18 wheelers flew past us, keep in mind these where the after market tires and rims south point automotive put on with no spare tire. After a $250 tow to the nearest discount tire my wife and I were educated that the blow out resulted from a mismatch in tire and rim size. South point mounted a 35"x12.5"x17r on a 6.5" wide rim. We are so lucky that the blow out did not cause injury or a wreck for us or anyone else. South points negligence put our family in great danger without us knowing. With this information I contacted south point where a woman answered the phone, I requested to speak with Edgar (the owner) she asked for my name and then started speaking with someone in the background and the phone went dead, a few seconds later she came back on the line stating that the auction house was not going to do anything about the truck and that I needed to take up action with them instead, I then told her my reason for calling was about the tire blow out and the rims and tires being wrong, she said their guys would know better than that and that she would have to have Edgar call me back (even though it was obvious she had been speaking with him) after no call back I called back once more and still could not get ahold of the owner. Finally after 2 more call backs a sales associate gave me Edgars cell phone number. I called this number and he answered promptly. I described the new situation to him and he responded with, "we have been putting tires and rims like that on for years." I then brought up taking this matter into the court of law when he responded with, " I have 3 times the money you do and will sue you into the ground." What honest business man who cares about his customers would say that to a customer who bought a 45 thousand dollar truck from him?? After that comment I told him that I would not need a lawyer or money to take care of this matter. I told him I would share with every social media , every webpage pertaining to him selling vehicles to people, and contacting the better business bureau with how I have been treated with the misrepresentation of this truck and the danger he put my family in. This made him change his outlook and told me he would talk with his business partner and get back with me the next day. The next day came and went and no response from Edgar so I sent him a text letting him know that I was not happy he told me he would call and didnt. I also let him know if he could not reimburse me for my expenses that I endured because of south points negligence I would share my experience and go to the BBB. I got a phone call 2 minutes later. He told me the best he could do is give me 700 cash. This is completely unacceptable considering I am almost 4,000$ in the hole because of Southpoint. Not to mention the danger he put my family in, the time I took off work to get my truck fixed, and the overall horrible experience I have had with these rude people. So this is me keeping my promise on the fact that I will share my experience on every applicable medium that exists. I do not want anyone to go through what I did. I do not want anyone else to put their family in jeopardy like I unknowingly did to mine. I urge you, on behalf of a honest hard working person, to not waste your hard earned money on any kind of vehicle from south point automotive no matter how "cherry" they say it is. This is a my opinion from factual events that have taken place after buying a vehicle from SouthPoint Automotive in San Antonio, TX

Many late model cars on the lot in great condition and the salesmen seem friendly. My issue was after finding a vehicle I wanted and wanted to start the negotiation, the sales manager was unwilling to and did not return any texts until late in the day. Ironically, after looking at the vehicle on a Saturday (and them being closed on Sunday) the vehicle is now "being sold". I had the impression that they were not taking me seriously even though I was willing and ready to negotiate and purchase today. It must me nice not to have to worry about selling cars to make money and keep the lights on! I guess they didnt need my $40+ thousand. *Response to below* Not entirely true. I originally contacted David and after some discussion he informed me that you use NADA book values exclusively and he then told me what they paid at auction for the truck. I am a realist...I understand that you have to make a profit to remain in business so my offer was several thousand above what the auction price was (including my trade-in). They then texted me what the "sales manager" sent about my trade. They highlighted what a car sold for in DFW (not the same trim level) with almost 60000 more miles and said that is what my car is worth. I pointed that out but they went completely silent. In addition, when I was at the lot talking about the truck that I was interested in, I pointed out that I was told by David what they paid for the truck at auction and that my offer would be several thousand above that but the sales manager appeared upset and proceeded in printing out all the trucks in the local area at other dealerships and was basically bad mouthing them and tried justifying their truck. HORRIBLE business practice!!!! Im a firm believer that honesty and integrity is the better option...not trying to take advantage of your customers. Had I not done my research I most likely would have bought their story and the truck would most likely be in my driveway but fortunately I did my homework and was able to see through the smoke and mirrors they were throwing up in front of me. Do yourself a favor...Research the vehicle you are interested in and show up armed with that knowledge so you wont be taken advantage of. It will save you thousands of dollars and a ton of frustration!

BEWARE Please read this before buying a vehicle from south point automotive To potential buyers, I would like for you to know first that I am a hard working honest person and real customer. Two and half months ago I saw an ad on Craigslist for a 2014 Dodge Ram 3500 truck for sale with only 6500 miles on it, leveling kit, 35" tires and rims added by south point The description for this truck as made by the seller of this truck (south point automotive) was very good condition, the owner Edgar described this truck in person as "cherry" and said "you will not have any problems with this truck it doesnt even have a scratch on it" 3 weeks ago I needed my 4 wheel drive for the first time, to my surprise I got stuck in a field of wet grass. I took my truck to a dodge dealership in suspicion that the four wheel drive was not working properly, come to find out the turbo inter cooler was dented and the 4x4 actuater that sits on the back of the front axel had been JB WELDED back together. Once the mechanics Heatherf away the jb weld and opened the box they found out the spendal that turns the 4 wheel drive shaft was crushed into lots of little pieces. The dealership also found the 4 wheel drive shaft to have warn down splines dodge would not cover this under warranty because it had been tampered with. So $2000 later I got my truck back from the dealership. During this whole process south point automotive was contacted and made aware of the situation at hand. South point automotive blamed the auction house from which it was purchased because it was supposed to be a "green light " vehicle. ******See next post from my wife Heather for rest of review ******
