Dropped an 07 Burgman off for a service check with 20k miles on it which was running fine. Previous owner had done various work himself, and even had some work done at PKS, which was why I brought it to them for a service check...they already had records of repairs done. Service Check runs $350, which I felt was costly, but worth the peace of mind. Got a call a week later after they "inspected" the bike, and said I needed $1300 worth of work done. (?!?!) Instead of doing the service check like I requested, they just did a quickie visual inspection, automatically assumed some major items like the v-belt and valves needed to be changed/adjusted without even looking at them, and then just wrote up a laundry list of individual services (EG: oil change, radiator fluid change, etc) and wanted to bill them as separate work instead of under the lump $350 which the service check cost is supposed to cover. The valves & v-belt show to INSPECT in the service manual, and change IF needed. They didnt even have the bike cracked open to inspect them, they just wanted to automatically do the work and get paid for it. This is absurd. pre-07 Burgmans had horrendous, costly valve maintenance issues, needed them adjusted all the time, and took 8 hours of labor just to get to them. Suzuki corrected that problem in the 2007+ models by reworking the engine design to make the valves easier to get to (1-2 hr at most), and only require inspecting now b/c they hardly ever need adjusting. Likewise, the previous owner had already replaced the v-belt himself once. But, PKS decided to just automatically assume the work needed to be done without even seeing if it did or not. They also wanted to replace both my tires, even though the front showed little wear and only feint cracking, and the back tire they had replaced themselves 5000 miles previously for the former owner. I declined services, because they didnt do what I wanted them to. If they had performed the service check as requested, and then later called me stating other issues were wrong AFTER THEY HAD CRACKED IT OPEN, DONE THE SERVICE AND INSPECTED, I probably wouldnt be as miffed and would have paid for it. But they didnt. And thats where they f**ked up. To add insult to injury, they charged me $65 for the estimate. So, basically, they charged me NOT to do the service check which I wanted, and instead just do a half-assed inspection and a call me with a huge fing estimate like I was having the engine rebuilt. $1300...you cant be fing serious. The bike has 20k miles on it. That is not much. And its an 07. And its not a Lexus. So not doing work requested, and treating your customer like theyre some mark to take advantage of is completely unproffesional. Asking $1300 to do work on a bike thats running fine, and automatically assuming it needs parts replaced/adjusted WITHOUT VISUALLY VERIFYING THE NEED FIRST BECUASE YOU DIDNT DO THE SERVICE CHECK AS ORGINALLY REQUESTED is not professional. Avoid at all costs.

KLR 650 purchase at this dealer.maintenance: slow maintenance and repair process expansive for basic overview and minimum labor completes.Almost got killed in the middle of 75 immediately after picking up my bike following electrical work. Not meticulous work. Almost refuse to help me picking up the bike barely a mile away and fixing it although I had just left the place ... Also, stay and observe: repair shop keep bikes for hours, work very slow to fill the hours they charge ($85 an hour) and inspect rather than repair ... The warranty seems a scam to me: Kawasaki will warranty your bike if you do the maintenance with them: barely any maintenance completed during the hours they keep the bike and charge you for labor: Labor is a guy that on occassion look at your bike with barely any work for hours at a time. The younger guy at the repair shop was really rude, pretentious and inconsiderate ... things he is an engineer at NASA ... the older guy was better This shop has serious customer service issues. So dont go there any more and in fact discourage you to have a bike ... because they tarnish KAWA image of the KLR: an expensive bike to maintain>>> BY BMW, they will have consideration and will actually maintain your bike with what is actually truly necessary ...Conclusion:1/ sell the bike KLR or bike you bring to maintain or repair2/ try finding another place to maintain your bike that you can trust for safety 3/ do the work yourself OVERALL: I CANNOT TRUST THIS SHOP AND ITS PEOPLE FOR SAFETY REASON as well as ECONOMIC REASONS FOLLOWING MY NUMEROUS experience with them! IT IS NOT OCCASIONAL BUT SYSTEMATIC !I do not say that other shop are better but this one is one of the worse ...once they pocket the money following the sale of a new bike. And the 4 years or less KAWA maintenance is a scam per my experience. You end up paying your KLR twice because they keep offering you insurrance past 4 years for as long as you spend either $180 or $360 (have invoice) for maintenance occurring each 6000 miles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! over 550 a year over 6 years .... about 4500 with new parts and labor, just for maintenance and excluded KAWA extra program warranty costWHAT A SCAM: marketing summary ... lets use the reputation of the KLR to take their money.BUY BMW instead ...I live in Richardson and have a KLR new model ... on the driveway that dont move ... but brand new!AVOID this store at all cost ....

I took my 2007 Ninja 250 in this dealer to get a basic tune-up less than a week ago and already ran into a couple of problems. I needed a basic tune-up and inspection to become 100% road-ready. Before I went in I made sure everything was mechanically sound and was running strong. Tires were good, gas was full, etc. When I drove it to the dealer and dropped it off, my bike was running perfectly. They said it would be a couple of hours to complete the check-up and get the inspection done. After a couple hours had passed I went back to the dealership with no call from them telling me that they did the basic tune-up, but couldnt do the inspection without telling me until I got there because a bald tire that wasnt. Thankfully I had an extra tire and had to go back to my house, grab it and come back. I dropped off the tire and they told me they were half-way done with the tune-up. "WHAT!?" they just told me they were finishing up. After another hour and half of waiting I paid my bill. I wanted a Basic tune-up and Inspection , but got an "basic bike Inspection", At least I got it done, but charged me $60 for a front tire change was kind of ridiculous. They added some prices/money under other and was kinda sketchy. After I picked the bike up and rode it home, smoke started coming out of the radiator/ engine area. I took my bike apart for a valve adjustment since it needed one and found that there wasnt any coolant in the reservoir and only a cup and a half in the engine/radiator. Im pretty sure when you do an inspection and or tune-up, wouldnt you make sure the fluids are topped off? I guess I thought wrong. My bike was over heating and losing power ever since I took it in, now I know the reason...Im assuming that the visually inspected the bike instead of tearing it down and really working on it. Long story short, I will never go back to these guys because of the Mechanical and customer service and will not recommend this bike shop/dealership to anybody else.
