This has been my standard Goodwill store to go to for several years. Theyve recently remodelled quite a few of them around DFW. This one has consistently offered nicer stuff, perhaps since its located in Plano. The good thing about goodwill is that the stuff is very, very low-priced. The bad thing is that about 90% of what they have (for mens clothing anyways) is junk. But that other 10% is an absolute bargain. You can get name-brand dress shirt (Geoffrey Beane, Van Hausen, etc) for like $4/shirt. You can get name brand sweaters for about the same price. You can get all kinds of t-shirts for all kinds of dress style (casual, emo, etc) for like $2/each. The suits they sell are of nice quality, and usually go for $20. Take it to a tailor, and for about $30-40 total, youll have a nice suit for an absolute bargain price. The employees do seem a bit stand-offish, but I dont go there to socialize, I go there to browse around. I can spend a good 2 hours in there bargain hunting, and some of the clothes Ive bought from them have lasted years (since theyre name-brand). Others Ive bought I later found small holes or missing buttons, so you have to be perceptive when you shop. A savvy shopper can basically get a whole new wardrobe for under $100. I make 2 trips a year (during spring and during fall), and basically return clothes I dont want and shop for new ones. This lets me easily and inexepensively exchange out my wardrobe while still looking like I shop at expensive malls and outlets. The only thing I would NOT buy from them are the shoes and perhaps the jeans. Most shoes are run-down looking, and could contain a foot fungus. A lot of the jeans are run-down and not worth it. But dress clothes are a good catch. Steer clear of most cotton polo shirts, since most have already been run through a hot dryer by idiot former owners, and thus look faded and crappy. Goodwill still offers low-priced goods, unlike Salvation Army, which for some reason has really jacked up their thrift store prices. And this Goodwill location is pretty good.

This used to be a great Goodwill store that adhered to Goodwills pricing policies, however now the store clerks tend to just spout off a price off the top of their head and it is different from one clerk to the next. Goodwill typically has a set list of prices for various types of items and this store used to have posted prices. As an experiment, I took an unmarked item to one clerk who told me the item was $2.99. Having been a frequent thrift store shopper for years, I knew the item is normally priced $1.99 at other Goodwill stores in the area. I asked her if she could check her price list to be sure she was charging me the correct price and she got very disturbed and agitated by my request (and she declined). I told her I no longer wanted the item and she returned it to stock. A few moments later, there was a different clerk (shift change?) at the register so I grabbed the same aforementioned item and took it back up to the cash register to inquire about the price. Interesting - it was $1.99! This has happened now on more than one occasion at this particular Goodwill location, so be aware that the pricing inconsistencies exist, here. Catch a cashier on a good mood day for best results. On another note, the housewares and household linens section was very organized and each item was neatly folded on my most recent visit, which is unusual for a larger thrift store. The price of books is higher at this store than other thrift stores in the area - definitely not a bargain. This store seems to be best for baby clothing and household items, although be sure to get an accurate price, as the items are no longer clearly marked in their sections. Military members and senior citizens receive a discount on Thursdays.

Had the absolute WORST experience at this store on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. I purchased quite a few items and when I went to my car to review my receipt (it seemed high to me), I realized I was charged incorrectly (over $10). I returned to the store and told the nice young man that originally checked me out about the error. Thats when the manager or supervisor stepped in to help - he had the "key" so he had some type of managerial duties at that particular time. We reviewed the ticket and then he said, "so, what are you asking?" I said that there were two items at $3.99 that I was charged for, but dont have and something for a $1.99 that I also dont have. He said that he could do a full refund and ring me up again. I told him that was fine. When he started to ring me up, prices on items suddenly changed. He said that the large bag I purchased was no longer $5.99 and it was now $10. I told him to keep it. (There was NOT a price on the bag, but I had been quoted $5.99) Then he changed an item that was priced at $.29 to $.59. I told him to keep it. He wasnt talking to me unless I asked him a question; he was just talking to the young man about the price changes. As he would get a new item, I would ask him what the price was now as they kept changing. I also told him that it wasnt right that he was changing prices as he wished. No response. After all was done and I was charged, there was no "Im sorry" or "thank you" ... Just him filling out his paperwork for the return. Horrible supervisor. Horrible experience. I hate to think that the goods I have donated and the money I spend go to his paycheck.

I cant believe people are giving bad ratings to a Goodwill store. I mean, I thought if I should review it myself from a usual donators perspective, but when I read the reviews from all the shoppers here I was shocked! Yes, I am giving this place five stars even though I have never stepped foot inside, yet I have stopped by many times to donate things that are in good condition that I would rather someone benefit from, even if they have to pay an establishment such as this for it. Someone below actually used the word "yuck", and "where do they get their stuff from, the ghetto"? I mean, seriously?! If this was a typical retail store that you dont like (for a certain valid reason of course), then I totally understand someone giving them a bad review, but this is where [typically] the less fortunate shop and try to get things for cents on the dollar that they would otherwise not be able to buy brand new. This is disgusting and quite shameful.

I would have given this 3 stars, but thats not fair. The main reason I dont like this Goodwill is that all the good stuff is usually gone. Its rare that I find anything that I actually want. I usually am just donating things. I think its because the area has more people, and of course I blame Macklemore. :) The Goodwills in less populated areas dont seem to be as picked through, and you can generally get better finds there. Im glad Goodwill exists though, to provide jobs and cheap used items. Last time I was in here, they seem to have walled in the book room that used to exist to the left when you walked in, and maybe theyre using it for office space or something now. Im not sure. Clothing is sorted by color, not by size, or at least it seems that way, so its really frustrating trying to find things in your size.
