I feel like I have to shear this story with other people, this did not happen every day. All this happen at Discount Tires Store Plano. TX. Brought vehicle in for routine rotate and balance, tech inspect my tires tread, it was half way down so good for service. Two hours late they call me and inform me tree of my tires bad some manufacture defect. I went back to store start asking what problem is but tech no want even talk about my tires he was trying get me to computer and start look for new set of tire. This was kind of strange I ask to show what wrong with my tires. We went to the shop and he show me one off my tire on the flour still on the rim ,and on inside side tire crack all way around , so this was defiantly manufacture defect. This is all fun is started , I was not ready to spend $500-600 for new set tires today, I have two more car at home and I can use this cars till I can save money and pay for new set of tires , but what happen next just shook me , I ask tech to put my tire back and I will buy new tires next time , and I already was late for very important meeting , but tech refuse to put my tire back , he said company policy he cannot install bad tire on the car , ok I told I will bolted tire myself he say no again , ok I ask him to install my spare tire so I can leave store , I have full size spear tire absolutely new , never been use , always in the trunk and I always check air pressure , so he start look at my spear tire and he told me my spear tire expire and he cannot install it on my car. Looks like I run out all options , so I ask him how I can get my own car from you shop and leave , he told me I have two options , first to buy new set of tires and second call for tow track and no other options. This was really bad; I start think to call cops. This was really simple visit for rotation and balance and I end up standing on the street with no car and no way I can get home and do not know what to do. So I decide to pay with my credit card and purchase new set of tires, total was $570. Now what I am thinking about this situation – this was really ripped off sell, I see this like some kind of scam. Tech inspects my car before he took it to the shop, I did not sign any papers, nobody inform me I can end up in like this situation, and no any sign in the store about situations like this, they just put me at the fact – pay for new tire or call tow track . When I got home I decide to call Toyota dealership and ask about my spear tire, they connect me with Toyota adviser and he explain me , they not recommended drive for too long on old spear , but in case of emergency it’s perfectly safe use it and drive like manual said 30-35 mph. I been use discount tire for over 10 years and service 5 cars at this store all the time, but I never see some think like this before, this is like big thanks for my loyalty. I wish I could give 2.5 stars. 3 isnt deserved but 2 seems low. I came to this Discount because I had a nail in my driver rear tire. I sat and waited to be told that they couldnt fix the tire for two and a half hours. They asked me who repaired the tire last time because it was a bad job and the patchwork had ruined the tire. I said, "Discount Tire repaired my last flat on that tire." He was speechless. I was already in the market for a new set of four tires since Im having a baby girl in two weeks and want to make sure my truck has good tires, so I made an appointment for today at 12:15pm. I arrived early because I wanted to ask if they could beat a deal NTB was giving us on four new tires for my wifes car. They beat it by $70 and I made the appointment. So now, I have been a paying customer and am purchasing eight brand new tires from Discount Tire. About 25 minutes after my appointment time, they informed me they only have two tires for my truck. Despite 1. Having an appointment and 2. Them knowing inventory and when I would be in. He had to send someone to another store to pick up the other two tires. Prolonging my wait time further. My truck wasnt pulled into the bay for the SCHEDULED appointment until an hour after my appointment. Im a long time customer of Discount Tire, but this Plano store seems to need some work and help. Go to another shop.

BEWARE - they damaged my rims: I took a set of brand new wheel and tire package to the 121 and Ohio location to get them swaped with my old wheels. After three hours, I picked up my car and they had not put air in my old tires which they took out my tpms sensors from, so I had to get them to put air in those. Then, later that night I went out with friends and at speeds over 45mph it felt like the car was about to jump off the wheels. I took it to the discount tire on 75 and plano pkwy the next day and was told that I needed hub rings and cone shaped bolts to fix the problem. Now the old bolts have destroyed the area where a cone shaped screw is supposed to sit in and my car vibrates at high speeds because they were too lazy and stupid to tell me that I needed these extra pieces to prevent damage to the rims and possibly having the wheels fly off the car, and on top of all that they didn't even balance the wheels correctly. If I had known that I needed those parts, then I would have told them to put my old rims on until I could get the parts. Thanks for nothing you lazy incompetent bastards.....these morons cost me $132 for labor and $1000 for new rims!!!!!

Up sell up sell up sell came in with 2 nails in tire. Said they were too close together to repair and said that I should prob replace all 4 tires anyway. Tires are Goodyear duratec tires. They lasted for over 50,000 miles on my tundra and I only have 20,000 miles on my jeep. Went to tires les schwab and they said there was no issues at all repairing two nails in a tire. Especially because the tire was a 5th tire for the back of the jeep only to be used as a spare in emergency only. Also they said I have a good 15-20000 miles of tread life on my tires currently. So in conclusion. I was about to spend 2500 at discount tire for a flat. Instead I was able to get the tire fixed and a full rotation for free at tires les schwab. They preach and preach safety and I agree with being safe but these guys take it way too far in order to meet sales goals. I have 5 cars and all aftermarket wheels and tires. This isnt the first time this happened. It happened at my colorado home with my tundra and Range Rover and also at my Florida house with my mercedes. This is the last time I buy at any location.
