This book store is located in a wonderful old building off the square, and is filled with one-of-a-kind titles, some in very nice condition. Ive found vintage childrens books in fine condition for gifts, and there are many Texas-related titles and specialty books, some quite old and others fairly current. This is not (a) a junk/thrift shop or (b) a Barnes and Noble, so you wont necessarily find a specific title for $1. But everything is clearly priced and beautifully displayed- and if you have a few minutes to wander around, you can almost always find some old, well-loved book - often an unexpected and gorgeous thing you didnt know you needed until then. Shop Amazon online for cheap paperbacks and bestsellers. Come here when you are hunting for something interesting to savor.

If I had to pick my favorite place on earth, it would be The Book Gallery. The owner, Jim, is always helpful but never overbearing, which is wonderful because I can spend hours browsing. Cant find the specific book youre looking for? Just ask Jim and hell immediately lead you straight to the jackpot, and even show you multiple options to choose from. You can smell the ink, old leather, history, and decaying pages as soon as you walk through the door. His selection of classic fiction is unparalleled to any other store Ive found in the area. I owe half of my bookshelf to this wonderful place, and I highly suggest anyone who loves literature to stop by and check it out. I promise you will not leave disappointed, but in fact, leave with an itch to return as soon as possible!

A nice little book store. It is not a big chain type store. It is not Half Price Books. This little store has character and stocks many old first edition books. You may not sit in there and enjoy a cup of Starbucks Coffee but you can do like a couple that I saw today sitting at a table enjoying a nice game of chess. I didnt go into town looking for a book store but was glad I came across Book Gallery. I found a nice 1922 first edition copy of a Radio Boys book to add to my collection. I thought items like this could only be found on the internet but there it was sitting in this nice quaint little book store in McKinney, TX. While there I saw a nice selection of Tom Swift books. If I decide to start collecting those I now know where to start my collection.

Great store. The owner was very helpful when I brought in an old book and had it appraised. He didnt follow me around the store and watch me like a hawk when I decided to look around. I hate it when I go into a retail location and they follow you around or peak around corners watching every move. He sat at his desk reading while I had to whole store to myself. The place even smelled like old books! Ill be back for sure!

Ive had the pleasure of going to this charming store for years. If you are a lover of books, or know of someone who is, you need to visit here. The owner is a wonderful and friendly man. Then theres Abby (the shop pup) wagging her tail to say shes happy to see us. Theres a wide variety of classic and rare books books for purchase. Its a quaint, wonderful store and worth the visit.

Amazing store! The owner was quite helpful, and he definitely knew his way around. He knew every book he had, and he was ready and willing to give a history to any book brought to his attention. Not to mention the lovely collection!

I am not a bigot... I wish I could say this book store was a good experience. The shop owner was either jaded or stuck up, likely both:( Oh, well...In short, he was short. He was not helpful.

My favorite shop! Friendly, knowledgeable service. I will be a lifetime customer! If only someone would open up a coffee shop next door where I could plop down and enjoy my books!
