James Starling

The people who work here are probably very nice, good people, but there are a few policies that are very irritating at this and other Barnes and Noble cafés. Their signs say Starbucks. Their menu largely resembles a Starbucks. But as any customer who has been there a few times knows, its NOT Starbucks at all in terms of taste. Perhaps its a little better in some regards, but its just not Starbucks. Also, its painful to see customers lectured on how their cards do not work there, that a specific drink they like isnt there, and so on. A reasonable person with a Starbucks gift card will see the sign and menu and think it is valid there. Cant Barnes and Noble just break from Starbucks and market their own line of coffee and end the pretense of "proudly serving" Starbucks.

Since the beginning of the year I started with the idea of reading at leas 4 hours per week. The good thing about this place is that you can spend your whole day in it, with no problems. Even when I think the coffee (starbucks) its overrated, the accommodations are perfect to be comfortable and read amazing stories or even learning new skills. The internet has good speed so you wont get annoyed by that aspect. The only problem in this pace is that becomes difficult to find an specific book and sometimes certain sections are a total disaster, but i understand that sometimes is not the stores fault. In conclusion, this is a good place to spend some quality and productive time.

This Book store may not be as large as its sister store at the palms crossings, but what it lacks in size it makes up for with great staff. Ive been helped before by plenty of staff that are just wondering the store, without having to go to the help desk. Once I swear on employee was just entering the store to start their work day, when they took some time to help guide me to the proper shelf for a book. Apparently I obviously looked lost. There isnt much seating room in the store, but the cafe has more then enough seats. Just make sure to buy something first while your at the cafe. It really rounds up a trip to the book store if you get a warm drink in my opinion.

Barnes & Noble has a unique atmosphere that is unparalleled by other bookstores. They have a vast collection of books, graphic novels and magazines to purchase, and if you cant find what you are looking for, one of the friendly staff will quickly order a copy for you.

My favorite place in the Valley. When my wife and I come here we come at opening time and leave at about an hour before closing, Yes, we stay here the whole day. We like to come on a weekday. Since Im semi-retired we can do that. If you come on the weekend you may have a difficult time finding a place to sit. Were from Brownsville and this is the closest B and N.

This B&N location is always clean and organized. The staff are very helpful and courteous. The ability to purchase a book online is convenient, but there is nothing quite like being able to physically hold a book in your hands and turn the pages. The coffee shop here is also great with excellent service.

Its a shame that bookstores are going the way of the video stores but Barnes and Noble still gives you a reason to go in person. The coffee shop and wide array of magazines along with their great children section make it better, maybe not cheaper, than buying online.

I would absolutely recommend Barnes & Noble to anyone who hasnt been to one before but not this location because restrooms. Oh my gosh they dont care about their restrooms at all. Smelly, unclean, and disgusting.

Their prices are a bit high but its a nice place and welcoming environment. Its a place to look for good books, presents and they usually have some good deals on limited things.
