I used to dread my eye appointments. I hated sitting for HOURS after the scheduled time of my appointment, just waiting to start the screening process that leads up to seeing the eye doctor. I am happy to report that my recent visit to the Texas State Optical - Northshore was enjoyable. I had my four year old granddaughter with me. She ate popcorn and enjoy cartoons as we waiting the SHORT time to see the clinician. The screenings were quick and easy. My grandbaby didnt have time to get fussy or impatient. Once in the waiting area to see Dr. John, it was only a matter of 5 minutes before he came out and invited us back to his office. His review of my test results were easy to understand. He also told me about a special laser eye exam I took that was not covered under my insurance. It diagnosed all sorts of things. I didnt have the cash available to pay for the results that day. It wasnt a lot of money; I was just broke. However, the doctor say the results would remain seals until I was ready to pay for them. Then, they could be compared to future tests to determine any progression of any illness or eye disease. I was impressed. Its not often, these days, that you can walk into any kind of office and not sit and watch your day tick away. It seems like your time means nothing to the people behind the desk. But, Texas State Optical - Northshore values your time and your money. I recommend them highly. Thanks to you all for making my visit so positive!

This TSO location is poor when it comes to customer service. It all began when I made an appointment. I was put on hold 5 different times and there seemed to be a lot of clowning around in the background before I was placed on hold. The receptionist needed help with navigating through the appointment booking process. I had to repeat myself many times and she still needed to be corrected as she confirmed my appointment. Once I got there with my husband, it didnt help to have made an appointment. We were both on our lunch breaks and when I asked when we would be seen, an asian looking man told me we were next in line. The problem, is that there was so much staff and there was hardly an business. A walk-in got to go before us way after we had gotten there (and I had gotten there ten minutes early to have the paperwork done). My advice is to go somewhere else. These people are a joke, a waste of time, and I guess they assume everyone is a welfare recipient on medicaid. WE WASTED A GOOD LUNCH HOUR EVEN THOUGH WE HAD MADE AN APPOINTMENT AND NO ONE EVEN HAD THE COURTESY TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT WE WERE GOING TO BE WAITING. When we walked out, I was asked if we were wanting to reschedule and I said HELL NO. Its sad because Ive never had any problems at any other TSO location and by the looks of the reviews, we arent the only ones.

Worse experience of my life! DO NOT GO HERE!! Ive been wearing glasses my whole life and Ive never had an experience like the one I experienced here and I will never go back! I was quoted one thing, told what services would be rendered plus the items I would recieve. However, I never received them! I had insurance and paid $308 out my pocket! I will never return and I advise anyone who values there hard earned cash to never go here and expect the services paid for. Staff apologizes but offered nothing to fix the issue. I should have just went where I have been going! Do NOT go HERE!! UPDATE: After my initial complaint.. and returning for further clarity to no resolve, while leaving the store I recieved a call from the district office. Whom informed they received my reviews as well as an complaint from the store manager. She was very pleasant and rectified the situation in a timely manner. Now while I dont believe I will return to this location I will probably be likely to return to another TSO chain location.

The staff is very rude and does not know how to do their job. Called to order my contacts and they tried to charge me 25 dollars on top of what I was already paying. I look over my insurance and called back and try to explain to them that was not correct but the lady Jessica insisted that I was wrong and told me she would double check with Mary and when I ask to talk to Mary, Mary did not want to talk to me and Jessica rudely said that Jessica was going to tell me the same thing. So I decided to take my business to Vision works and ordered my contacts without having to pay the extra 25 dollars like I had stated to begin with. They need to train there associates better in insurance verification or hire a professional.

This is not my experience but my partners. She went to the TSO on Uvalde and not only received poor service, but they do not know what they are doing. She also paid extra for an x-ray behind her eyes. When she received her glasses she could not see through them after a couple of trips and a claimed change to her glasses, she still could not see through them as she should have. I finally took her to my eye doctor paid for it out of my pocket only to find out how incompedent this doctor was. After a complete exam she was found to have dry eye macular degeneration in the right eye and wet macular degeneration in the left eye. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Strike 1: Email confirmation does not work, I took a day off to have my supposed scheduled appointment. If I werent lucky as a walkin that would have been a personal day I wasted. Strike 2: The clerk placed a wrong frame order on my two frames and they charged me more than I should have paid. Strike 3: After speaking to the manager they said they would have the right frame ready the same day. I arrived just 2 minutes after hours and since this is a simple pick up. I was turned away and flipped off. I will never use or recommend TSO to anyone ever again. Id rather spend precious money and time online.

Not satisfied with the way they do things. I got my glasses and it didnt give me a perfect vision and went back with the problem. They told me that they will fix and remake it and it will take like 7-10 business days. I told them I dont have another glass and for me its very essential to work on the computer. Its the 3rd week and i havent received the glasses yet. I also feel like some of the others customers said, they dont care for the customers. They only care for the money and which I have already paid in full. Customer service like this will ruin the goodwill of TSO.

I personally had a great experience here. The office staff were professional and very courteous. The doctor was very knowledgeable and friendly. I felt very comfortable during my visit. My contacts fit and feel great! When I am ready to purchase a new set of frames and lenses I will definitely be returning. I highly recommend this optometrist to anyone in the area. The establishment is clean and inviting. I was also seen precisely when I was scheduled. I couldnt be happier with my visit.
