My significant other had a time looking for the specific make, and model of vehicle he wanted with all the bells and whistles. He was quite excited when he found the vehicle he was searching for and got a good deal at benchmark customs, at the location in Webster. But after the sell the ordeal to get the plates was a nightmare. You may think " Why is his significant other writing this?" Well three days after buying the vehicle the temporary tags expired and while the significant other was working late I went by the shop/dealership off of hwy3. The S/O has been in contact with Eric and Eric was aware that I would be coming by to pick up more temporary tags. When I got there I walked into the shop and there was another angered customer in front of me who seemed to have been promised a specific time and date on the materials for his truck, and they had failed multiple times after multiple promises to provide the materials in a timely manner. I went up to the counter next and said I was here to pick up temporary tags for my boyfriends vehicle he purchased here and that he had been in contact with Eric earlier in the day. The man behind the counter then went and walked the shop and came back in and stated Eric wasnt here and handed me two photocopied temporary tags. I had gotten what I needed and left. A week later the significant other and I were at his friends house. His friend who was once a car salesman asked what was up with the tags on his car. We realized they gave us dealer temporary tags, not buyer ones. My significant other then let Eric know that the tags were dealer tags and that they were from Alfaro motor company. The bf was also unable to purchase temp eztag for the vehicle because the plates are registered with ex tag on another vehicle. It is now 45 days after he purchased the vehicle and last week Eric contacted my boyfriend and told him that he has been unable to get the vehicle registered and get license plates because he realized he didnt get the vehicle inspected. Eric now put the responsibility on the buyer, my significant other, to go out of his way to get the vehicle inspected and when he received proof of inspection he would then write a check for then inspection. The inspection failed at first due to darkness of the tint so the significant other had to rip off the tint for it to pass and had to re-tint the windows. It has been a week since that happened and Eric has proof of the inspection and has not cut a check and is refusing to stand in line at the DMV today because if hes going to be waiting an hour hes going to have at least 10 vehicles he needs to get registered and that wont be til mid week next week. After looking at legalities the significant other is going to take care of that part. It is the dealers responsibility to assure that the tags on the vehicle are legitimate and they have failed to do so.... I really hope no one goes through this again. He has also made comments about the significant other not being able to use the ez tag. Such as " so sorry about the beltway issue......." white boy problems" with multiple laughing smiley face emojis. This is very unprofessional. I have proof of these conversations between them as well. I am only stating facts and believe that no customer should have to endure such treatment.

I bought a shiny new car from Erik on terms that were very decent. We agreed on a price, paperwork was signed, the entire buying experience was great.....until I needed my license plates.... Ive been back and forth for almost 2 months trying to get my plates. Its been one excuse after another. It started with my temp tags expiring after three days. Then, as I was working overtime, the girlfriend picked plates up for me. They handed her "Authorized Agent" tags, which are for dealerships that havent sold a car, they arent for cars that are sold to customers. A month goes by before erik even looks at getting the car registered and realizes that he never had an inspection done on the vehicle which is required. I find time to get the inspection done, in which it fails for dark tint on the front windows. I paid for the inspection which was $25 (and said to be reimburst) and another $70 to have my front windows re-tinted. I get all the paperwork he needs and he sends me a message that he will have everything ready to pick up on the following Tuesday. Tuesday goes by and I never receive a message or call. I wait until Friday to send him a message. I cannot register my "Authorized Agent" tag to EZ Tag because the plate is already registered to another vehicle. I make Erik aware of this and he replies "White boy problems". I express that Ive bent over backwards to be patient and id like for him to get the plates today, as theyve been promised to me time and time again. He tells me that he simply wont go stand in line for an hour until he has 10 deals to process, ensuring Im not a valued customer. Theres more to the story such as the temp tag I have is by definition stolen from "Alfaro Motors" in Texas City. Apparently, getting a temp tag is too difficult to do legally. Buyer beware...Im looking at 2 months of back and forth and I still dont have a registration in my name and Metal plates on my vehicle. I havent been offered a Buyers temp tag (Which is the legal plate until the Metal plates come in). I havent been offered anything but a hard time. Dont make the mistake I made, this "Customer Service" is nothing more than a fly-by-night, give me your money and get fed environment.

Disappointed to say the least. My husband and I found a 2010 F-150 Platinum they were selling on eBay. After multiple phone calls with Brandon Bailey (their on-line sales specialist) asking questions about the truck, we decided to purchase it. When we finally received the truck, there were many things we were not happy with. The truck did not arrive with a spare tire. It did not come with a Ford factory key (nor the keyless entry as advertised on their ad). We were not provided a key for the tonneau cover (rendering it useless until we had to purchase a new key and cylinder). The truck had 3 different sized tires, which were all bald (Brandon told my husband they were brand new tires). There was rust all over the roof (which my husband and I asked on separate occasions and were told by Brandon there was no rust). The sun roof tracks need to be replaced. They also lied when the truck actually shipped to us and they lied about the amount to ship it (they charged us $850 to get it up to us in Indiana when the car haulers paper work indicated it only cost $600 to ship). After complaining to Eric Miller, he asked me to look at the ad they placed on eBay and identify any items that were not on the truck when it arrived. In doing this exercise my husband and I identified all of the discrepancies between the ad and what we received. After much back and forth, we finally agreed that Eric Miller/Benchmark would give us $350 toward the Ford factory key and the spare tire. However, after multiple attempts to get in contact with them regarding the $350, there has been radio silence. Its people like Brandon Bailey and Eric Miller that give all sales people their bad reputation. Please be aware when considering purchasing a vehicle from Benchmark. We would NOT recommend them to anyone.
