Its has the usual Williams-Sonoma stuff (nice but really expensive), but the sales person was patronizing and unhelpful. I didnt get her name, but shes the big tall black lady. She did not even try to be helpful, instead just wanting to get on with other people/things. She was also very condescending and snobby, as if I was never going to buy anything. Its as if she just doesnt care or is bitter about working there. I went to buy a Shun Kaji, and she suggested their new Edo line, which is totally understandable, but she failed to mention that Edos use a VG10 core, which is inferior to the SG2 powdered steel found in Kajis. Edos and Kajis cost about the same, but Edos look better and have hammered dimples for reducing drag. For me the most important thing is cutting ability and edge holding, so it made sense to go with the Kajis. Had I not known about the materials in these knives, I might have just naively gone for the Edos, as they are really pretty. So in the end Id say you should always do some research before buying, because the salesperson might just omit certain facts and mislead you into buying overpriced merchandise. Actually Id just go there to look at their products and get a hands on feel, and if you like it, you are likely to find better deals online anyways. Because with the kind of snobby attitude they have over there, you are not going to find it anymore unpleasant than having to do everything yourself online.

The people here are very friendly and very helpful when you need it. I like how when youre just looking around, they know when to leave you alone. Theres not enough of that anymore cause everyones just trying to make a sale. But the staff here is knowledgeable, not just in their products, but in how to make a customer feel welcome.

Nice, overpriced stuff. The lady behind the counter wouldnt even answer a very simple question ("Where are the colanders?") even though she didnt have other customers. She said "Ill be with you in a minute", which she didnt after ten minutes. Sur La Table has much better selection, and more helpful staff.

Staff was very friendly and pointed out some of their best sales. Purchased a thai peanut pizza sauce for $2.50 a jar (originally price at 19.99!!!) that made the best pad thai I have ever had. Everything is WAY over priced but associates are aware and will let you know about the deals.

When my husband and I just want to window shop for a spell, this is where we go. Were both foodies and LOVE their stuff, so we go there often for inspiration. They have technique classes which Ive never done, but I saw one in progress once and it looked pretty cool.

If I had the money, I would supply most of my kitchen with items from W&S. I pick up small and sale items when I can, but coming here is just a tease for me. If youre looking for a gift for someone who loves to cook there is probably something for them here.

I love this store. The stuff is so expensive but so worth it. I finally saved up enough to get the Dutch Oven Ive been after for so long. The staff actually shared in my joy as they packed it up. Its still the best thing is my kitchen...maybe even my home.

Excellent customer service. Bertha explained the Nespresso machines in detail and really knew the product well. As a retail business owner I was treated very well and would absolutely visit this store again. Well done WS Arboretum Austin!
