Dropped my Samsung S6 Active while hiking and it landed perfectly on some rocks to shatter the screen so I took it in to MPG. A while back I had brought my iPhone in with water damage (Lifeproof case not so Life Proof) and they had very kindly looked it over said it couldnt be repaired and charged me the fee to examine phones which was cheap (like $20?). So, I bring my S6 in on a Wednesday and am told the cost (around $250) and am a little stunned because thats pretty costly and I could find a used phone for about the same (Samsung charges $200 to get it fixed as I found out later so only slightly higher than market), but the gentleman up front asked if I had backed it up and I said no and then proceeded to point out that I would lose all my data. I ask how fast it can be done and he says the local supplier has the part so it should be next day (which is faster than even amazon prime can ship me a new phone). I conceded that I didnt want to lose my apps and contacts etc. and handed the phone over. I contact them the next day - its not done. It is done by Friday though so no big deal. Im happy, Im satisfied, my phone is working. By Sunday its out again. I take it in, they say the wire became disconnected from the screen and theyll have it fixed within two hours. Two hour fix is A-okay by me and they dont charge me anything. Next thing, phone goes out AGAIN on Tuesday. This time the screen is black and theres a little white flash occasionally. Im out of town for the holidays at this point and unwilling to take it to another repair shop and pay again so I cant bring the phone in until Friday (Dec. 23rd otherwise known as the day before everything shuts down for the Christmas Weekend). When the worker at the desk takes the phone back he opens it up and asks me if it sustained any damage - I say no and he says well the LCD screen is cracked. After, I guess, ruling out that I hadnt lied he concludes that it probably cracked when he opened the screen (Samsungs are apparently sensitive inside and this is most likely true. The reason I was told it would take two hours to repair the second time was because they had to be so careful when taking apart the screen which makes me wonder why it only took five minutes for him to open it this time.) and that the screen had probably shorted out even before that. Local supplier has the part again and they say that while the shop will be closed for the weekend Holiday they can have the part by Monday and hopefully have it fixed that evening. I dont hear anything on Monday. Call Tuesday and theyre still waiting on a part. Wednesday I get an email around 1 pm saying its ready and I go to pick it up that evening nice and shiny. After two weeks of fooling with this repair and five days without a phone Im just happy to have it back and in apparently working order again. This morning I bend over and my phone slips out of my pocket onto the tile floor at work. Im not too concerned - its an Active and its survived worst. I pick it up and the screen in the upper right corner is shattered to the point a piece even falls out. Everyone at this shop was perfectly nice and probably fairly honest which is why Im giving two stars, but either their supplier is cheating them or theyre cheating me and either way Im stuck with a broken phone. Same way I was two weeks ago when this all started. TL;DR After two weeks broken phone is still broken, never making it more than two days out of the repair shop and after the fourth time dealing with this Im frustrated and upset. For $250 I feel like I should have gotten a little more.

Mobile Phone Geeks are my new go to guys for everything cell phone, and specifically iPhone related. I had dropped my iPhone 2G down a flight of stairs and an apartment complex(all cement stairs and walkways), needless to say my phone was broken. The screen was completely shattered and it was useless. Now my iPhone is no typical cell phone. It is unlocked for use on T-Mobile, jail broken, 3.0 software updated ,MMS enabled, video recorder, hundreds of dollars worth of apps, and priceless information like emails, contacts, Im sure you get the picture. I had put many, many hours and effort into making this phone just how I wanted, and one careless night, I thought, had ruined it. The next morning I woke up early and searched the net for iPhone repair shops in Austin. Half of these places werent even open at the time they advertised, the other half were rude and looked at me as if I were crazy to ask them to fix an original iPhone. Not the 3G or 3GS. All of these businesses claimed they could fix ALL iPhones from their ads, but this simply was not the case. One person said his "guy" who could maybe fix it, was not in until Tuesday, then it could take 2-4 days to fix and over $200 bucks. It was Friday morning and just going the weekend without my phone, much less a week without it, was not acceptable. When I got to Mobile Phone Geeks I was a little frustrated at that point, to put it lightly. The gentleman, Tin(sp?), was very nice and understanding of my situation. He could sympathize with what I was going through and understood how my iPhone is more than just a phone. He also seemed very knowledgeable and very sure that he could fix it, and in a reasonable amount of time. His price was also fair compared to some of the quotes I was getting earlier in the day. I left my phone with him, as he stated there were a few phones ahead of mine, and it could be done probably the following day(Saturday). One day compared to these other places telling me a week, was music to my ears. To my surprise I get home and within an hour, he called me telling me my phone was ready and back to new condition! He added a slick screen protector and my phone was back to new, as if nothing happen. ONE HOUR. These 2G iPhones are hard for some people to fix, and can take days. Mobile Phone Geeks took one hour. Unbelievable! These guys will always have my business for anything cell phone related and I will be telling my friends. Great Job Guys! Andrew

Fast repairs, great prices, outstanding and friendly service... need I say more? The first time I took my phone (June 2009) in it was to replace the pin that holds the to halves of my flip phone together I wasnt having any problems operating the phone, just keeping the two halves together.... two minutes and no charge later... I was on my way. Yesterday, I took the same phone in for a related problem. Apparently, during the time the pin was missing it had been crunching up the wiring to the display screen half of the phone. My first stop was to the AT&T store, but they spent more time trying to sell me on a new phone and a new plan... instead of paying attention to the fact that I wanted to repair the phone I had. Between the way my needs were ignore and the condescending tone of the guys voice... I was so irritated I almost threw my phone at him. Then I had my "Duh! What were you thinking?" moment and drove to the Mobile Phone Geeks. Within three minutes and the dis-assembly of my phone they were able to diagnose the problem, tell me the price to fix, how much time it would take to fix it, and make me laugh. I got my phone back in under a half an hour and it cost me less than 60 bucks! That even included adding on a Motorola branded battery to the cost of the repairs! These guys rock! Ive already been bragging and spreading the word on their terrific customer service. Keep up the great work!!!
