I went here for the vegan snacks and ice cream. The food was okay, but the service was a problem. The time I was there, there were 4 servers and 11 customers. But they acted like they were too busy to take the time for us. When we were ready to order, we waited to be acknowledged for about 10 minutes before realizing we were at the wrong counter to order. My friend commented that they were like robots because they completely ignored us until we went and stood in the right spot. Then, they took several minutes to bring out each of our items one by one: my friends ice cream, then 10 minutes later our dessert, and then finally my ice cream. By the time my ice cream came out her it was already partially melted, and then they served me the wrong size. I ordered a medium and they served me a small. When I told them their error, they corrected it but loudly commented that I had paid for a small. It just made eating the desert a lot less pleasant when we were waiting so long for it and when they were so rude. The worst part was, they ask for the tip when you pay. So I had already provided them with a tip before I realized how poor the service would be.

Delectable, wonderful, and a great addition to this area of Austin. I was so sad to hear earlier this year that the owner had passed away and that the fate of the shop was in jeopardy. However, they are open and thriving, so it seems like someone took over the shop. For vegans (not me, but sometimes), they have an excellent selection of vegan baked goods, vegan coffee options, and vegan ice cream. Ive tried most of it, and you might not ever know that its vegan. The ice cream is particularly delicious. The non-vegan ice cream (from a company in San Francisco) is also bomb. Particularly the brownie batter fudge! It haunts my dreams. For the coffee lover, their menu is extensive and contains options most other shops dont have. And the employees have great expertise in their craft. Aside from the expertise, they beans they use are top notch as are all of the other ingredients - leading to some truly excellent coffee. The parking situation in this center (Black Star, Fuzzys, etc) is pretty terrible, so be patient and remember that the garage has multiple levels.

A very nice selection of 14 coffee styles like espresso, cafe con leche, cappuccino, cold brew, French press, pour over, etc and 22 flavors of dairy and vegan ice creams such as Land of Milk & Honey, Mint Galactica, Ginger Cookie Caramel, Chocolate Hazelnut Fudge, Mocha Difference, Liz Lemon Cookie, and Summer Berry Swirl. The store is clean, bright, and modern. A pleasant techno soundtrack plays in the background. There are six tables and a small bar counter that seat up to 16 persons, however, the bench seating is hard and uncomfortable. There is also a shelf with games. Restrooms are located in the rear. The coffee and ice cream are excellent. Service was business like, not friendly, and slow. Prices are high; medium ice cream is $5, medium milk shake $7, medium cup of drip coffee $3.25.

OMG, it is not often you find a place that captures your taste and appreciates your patronage. Fat Cats is the perfect spot for delish ice cream and sweet pastries. Zach provides great customer service and a welcoming atmosphere. I had the Liz Lemon Cookie ice cream, and I must say that for this creamy concoction of lemonocity I will drive the 30 min across town. If I could I would buy a tub of it for myself. My husband and kiddos had cookie dough and cookies and cream and they absolutely enjoyed theirs too. I appreciate the vegan ice cream offerings and the quality of the pastries we had a cat cookie and cinnamon roll. Even our dog enjoyed her fresh baked dog treats. Our new family sweet spot for sure!

Discovered this place when attempting to satiate my sweet-tooth. It is absolutely adorable inside and it is fun to see the cute little décor quirks and nuances. They serve quasi-cuban coffee here (of course it is not near the real deal, but it hits the spot) along w/several other caffeinated offerings. But, the showstopper here is the ice cream waffle! A waffle w/a scoop of their delicious ice cream and added toppings (I did bourbon hot fudge and coconut whip cream…OMG!) and you have yourself a dessert worthy of the pricetag. Staff can be a bit hit or miss, with some being a bit prickly and others being engaging with great recs. So, if you are in the area w/sugar hankering, this is the place!

Very cool little spot. Went there first by myself then brought my wife the next day. We got suckered in because well, were both cat lovers XD so the cat theme was very magnetic The ice coffee was very good; mocha latte wasnt bad, definitely a more bitter mocha. The snacks etc are pretty top tier.. It looks like everything is made in house, and quality shows it! The workers there seem to be pretty happy, and not the least bit pretentious which means a lot to having worked in the coffee shop field for years Its definitely a coffee shop I see myself going back to whenever Im in the area. =) its more like 4.9 stars btw.

I didnt try the ice cream but I did look like a lot of them are chocolate or coffee based and they did look delicious. I did love the iced chai and the chocolate peanut donut as well as the cinnamon roll. The iced chai was perfect not to milky or too spicy like you get at a lot of other places. Their cookies are okay for being vegan they have a more crumbly consistency than Id normally like which I feel is bit too dry. But great atmosphere and lovely staff!

Hands down, one of my favorite coffee shops in Austin! The pastries are a tad pricey but the coffee is amazing and reasonably priced. I had an iced lavender latte which was amazing and came with iced coffee cubes. But, all of their coffee is great. They also have a great selection of ice cream. Games are also available so its great to hang out with your friends. 10/10, would recommend.

Cute little place with vegan waffles, ice cream, treats, and coffee! They also have dairy ice cream. The waffles can be topped with all sorts of yummy options including dairy free whip! They also have assorted goodies like doughnuts (I think they are baked, not fried), bars, cookies, etc. Nice and quiet atmosphere where you could study or have a nice conversation.

Great coffee, great dairy and gluten free options in pastries and ice cream! Im told their dairy ice cream is also fantastic. Theyre super friendly and have so many kid friendly options! Their delicious Cuban con leche has me so spoiled that I dont go anywhere else for my coffee, and will drive out of my way to get my coffee fix!

I get that that its coffee. But, you must understand the Cafe con Leche is damned good cup of coffee. Plus, the staff provides great service --- pleasant, quick to correct an order error, and (during a lull) they patiently talked me through the difference between a flat white, an au lait, a latte and a con leche.

LOVE this place. Their hot chocolate is amazing, the servers are helpful, & I had plenty of vegan options!! Best coffee place Ive been to in central/north Austin. My husband really enjoyed his iced coffee (which has coffee ice cubes) & hes generally picky about such things :) Highly recommend!
