My First Appointment: I LOVED the first girl who helped me with my dress, but I didnt find my dress. My Second Appointment TODAY 3.14.15 (A month later): The girl I had the first time no longer worked there, but this appointment was for my bridesmaids. They were late, so I walked around with my planner and my consultant, Katy to find some dresses for the girls to try on and get ideas.Katy was very excited and helpful until I mentioned to my planner that I didnt find the dress I wanted at AA. Katys tune changed immediately. When my first bridesmaid arrived, she tried on a few dresses. Katy was not very attentive or prepared for that matter. She didnt have clips, she didnt get different sizes. She just let us try on dresses and just stood there. I gave her the benefit of the doubt. They had just opened the doors. Enter my second bridesmaid (20 minutes late). I had her try on the same dresses and had the first one go look around to see if she could find anything that she liked better than what I picked. Again, Katy was kind of just standing there, letting us do our thing. I guess it wasnt apparent that I was real lost and didnt know what I wanted. When the first bridesmaid came back, she had a different style dress. I asked Katy if it came in the color I wanted, and she went to check. She came back with a yes, so I let B1 try on the dress. When she came out, she was in love - except the train was really long and she didnt like the slit. Katy finally had some advice for us. We could cut the train and buy extra fabric to have the slit closed off. That sounded expensive so we looked some more. Katy just stood around. My planner was helping clip B2 into her dresses because Katy was still not with it. I asked her if we could have capped sleeves for the dress and she went to find them. Enter B3 (35 minutes late) At this point I was really annoyed with my girls, but I was thankful that they all made it. We asked Katy a lot of questions about the styles of dresses, she would have to "go check" a lot. The girls settled on dresses they liked and we paid. Now I am writing this review because I went back to the Alfred Angelo website and noticed that some of the longer dresses the girls had tried come in shorter versions. For example the dress B1 LOVED and Katy said would have to be cut and sewn. And I know, I could have looked at the site more, but the consultants could actually know their products. They also could be a little more attentive and care they are getting business even if it wasnt for a wedding dress. I tried, ladies. I tried so hard to fall in love with a dress you had there. Im sorry I didnt. And I do apologize for their tardiness. But I was on time, and while we were waiting, you could have gotten more information to better help them.

Its unfortunate you cant give 0 or negative stars for a rating. Ill save as much of the rant as I can and sum up. A $150 dress has come out to just over $300 from these folks. Dress + what Ive discovered is unneeded costs for an expedite and overnight shipping when the dress would have arrived in plenty of time + the cost of alterations I wasnt told I would have to pay for (apparently it was in the fine print they didnt bother pointing out) "+" apparently they make you pay to have the dress pressed to get the wrinkles out. Now, I was married in 2007 and my wedding dress and those of my bridesmaids came from Davids Bridal. NO ONE had to pay for alterations or getting dresses pressed. Not only did one of the Customer Services ladies argue with me for about 5 minutes about the cost of getting the dress pressed (she said it would be $65 at first because she assumed we were talking about a wedding dress and pretty much just began arguing w/o know what the heck she was arguing about) but then told me in no uncertain terms that someone "must" have told me when I bought the dress that I would have to pay for alterations. Good/bad thing that I had the bride not only there when I went to try it on upon arrival last week, but she was there with me today and took up the flag to point out, along with myself, that NO ONE mentioned having to pay for alterations. Then ANOTHER Customer Service lady chimed in that shed been a manager at Davids Bridal for 4 years or something and advised myself, the bride, and the maid of honor that theyve ALWAYS charged for those things. Then the bride... well, she rather exploded and advised right back that she was a bridesmaid in my wedding last year and didnt have to pay for a d*mn thing outside the cost of the dress. In the end, all we accomplished was getting them to drop the $15 pressing charge; only $15 for bridesmaid dresses apparently. *twirls finger* Sorry for the rant. Really I am. But folks need to know that the Customer Service there is severely lacking. They were rude with their responses to my questions and obviously have a lot of fine print that MUST be read before even stepping in the door. The honest opinion of myself, the bride, and the maid of honor who had to witness this: DONT SHOP HERE. Its not worth the stress or the financial hit.

Let me start off by saying I reviewed TONS of stores before going to them. I was set on going to Alfred Angelo because the reviews were pretty good. When I walked in with my mom in the austin Alfred Angelo store, the ladies smiled at us and the consultant told us to hold on a moment while she finished up with something. We waited and looked at the Alfred Angelo magazines they gave us and started looking through dresses. She pulled a few that I liked and I went to try them on. The girl was very outgoing, maybe a little TOO outgoing and kind of obnoxious in a way...Im a very nice person its just she spat on me she was so close to my face and it was awkward. But she took me to the room helped me into the dresses, talked to me a bit and asked if I had looked anywhere else. I understand they need to make a sale and thats why they ask that a lot of the time it just made it awkward when I told her I had found another dress I really really loved. I tried dresses on, but they didnt look right on me. They looked frumpy and awkward and I WANTED to love one dress and for it to be the one, but there was something missing. She didnt seem that interested in me either once she found out I had liked another dress...long story short (somewhat) I went to San Antonio to Alfred Angelo the next day, turns out the consultant WAS SUPPOSED TO PUT Me IN A SLIP/PETTI COAT under the dress!! Cheryl at San Antonio was SO nice, she KNEW what she was doing, she treated me like a princess, and she was so disappointed that they had messed up my experience at the other store. I LOVED the dress with the slip on under it, it looked the way it was supposed to, it was beautiful. Guys, go to the one in San Antonio 9951 Interstate Highway 10, San Antonio, TX Is the address. I wouldnt change a THING about them. They are absolutely amazing. Huge selection of dresses, perfect lighting, good seating, clean, wonderful staff, and cold rooms so you dont get hot trying on dresses. AND LOTS of plus size gowns! :) Austin location. . . not so much. And they dont put you in NEAR as many gowns as the others do.
