I was visiting my best friend in Austin and had always wanted a tattoo. We decided to call Affinity, mainly because she had gotten a piercing done there and was completely satisfied. The woman who answered was nice and helpful and let us know that one of the artists had some free time in between appointments so we could come in. The shop was down on 6th street, so I wasnt expecting anything fancy, but the shop was so interesting, with drawings of tattoos hanging all over the walls and a case that had piercings lining one wall. The two ladies at the counter were extremely nice and chatted with me, since I was nervous as it was my first tattoo. Ollie, my artist, was very thorough. I was getting a tattoo that was the exact same as my best friends, so he took a picture of hers and drew it maybe 10 times just so it was perfect. He took me back and put the stencil on and made sure it looked good when I stood and bent my foot, since it was on my ankle. I have always been worried about sterilization, as Im diabetic, and he was very, very reassuring about the sterilization of the tattooing process and I watched him open all the equipment. He was very quick, very nice, and talked to me to calm me down a little bit. He spent a while talking about aftercare and sent me on my way. All in all, I was so incredibly pleased with this shop that I went back a week later and got a quote on my shoulder by another guy and the process was the same. So professional and amazing people. I would make the 4 hour drive all the time just to get tattooed. I dont trust anyone else.

I just got my rook pierced by Johnny. If I could give more than 5 stars I absolutely would! First off, they take sterilization very seriously here. I waited just over 10 minutes for my jewelry to be sterilized. They also made me initial the package my jewelry came in, that way I knew it was my jewelry that they had sterilized and not something they just happen to have in the back that they plucked out of germ hell. After that was done Johnny talked me through everything that he was going to do and what I would feel while he pierced me. He was very knowledgeable, precise and patient throughout the whole process. He took more time just marking where my rook would go than the piercing itself. He didnt rush me out once I was done, he carefully talked me through the aftercare of my piercing, answered all my questions, and told me I can come back or call him anytime I wanted if I had any more questions or concerns with my new piercing. I would highly recommend affinity and Johnny for your next piercing.

I met Mike on a random night up in Dallas. I walk into a studio, saw his portfolio and got some work done... while he was in Dallas i took my band members his way... i will only recommend the best! and i must say...he is def the best! When things didnt work out in Dallas, my wife and i decided to move to New Braunfels. I was devastated that i was probably gonna have to find another person to do great work. That was until i received a text from Mr. Williams advising me that he was indeed moving to Austin...and 2 weeks later he was here! Since then I have brought numerous of friends and acquaintances to get work done by him! Like i said i recommend nothing but the best! Not to mention the work hes done on me is amazing! Love this guy!!!! If youre in the Austin area and want some ink...i Def recommend hitting him up! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!!!!!

Crystal and Jonny are the BEST piercers out there. Trust me, it is worth spending a little extra money on your piercings. I had my navel pierced at some sketchy place and it hurt like crazy. It became infected within a week, probably because I was in and out within 10 min (didnt see them sterilize anything). Not to mention they probably should have used a longer bar. Affinity on the other hand sterilizes everything right in front of you, matches the length of the bars to your personal body type, and spends time making sure everything is lined up PERFECTLY before they pierce. I literally didnt even feel my navel piercing and it hasnt bothered me at all since Ive gotten it done. Everyone here is extremely nice and takes time to give you the best piercing experience possible!

Met Mike a while back when he was in Dallas when I was getting my first tat. I wasnt sure exactly what to expect or how it was all going to go down but thankfully Mike was available when I came in. He did a great job with my tat and was awesome company to help keep my mind off the needles stabbing my skin repeatedly. From there I brought several friends and my wife in to get more work done and I never heard anything but praise from all of them. He was kind enough to do touch ups for free and gave me a great price on my next tat, a totally custom one that he drew up for me. Unfortunately I havent been able to make it out to Austin to see him again but when I get a chance Im DEFINITELY going to him. So, if youre reading this and on the fence... Go talk to Mike! Hes the man!

Johnny was my piercer. And he was absolutely AMAZING! I got a simple nose piercing and he took his time and walked me through all the steps. I have had my nose pierced 4 different times and this was the best! He showed me all the tools were sanitized and asked me if I was going to wear a hoop ring so he could place it in a different area that was more snug. Definitely took his time and was there about an hour or so but it was all worth it! They always say you get what you pay for. so yes a little pricey on the jewelry but I love it! Thank you soooo much Johnny. Its only day 4 but it is healing so far so good :) HIGHLY RECOMMEND, dont forget to tip your piercer and artist!

I had a great time. Chris Drts was awesome, and so was the guy at the front (even though I didnt even have a reference pic). Chris was really cool and made sure I was comfortable. I wish we lived closer because he had some really sick sketches. Other reviewers clearly dont understand that you will bleed after the tattoo. If a needle pierces your skin and you DONT bleed, something is wrong. You will also scab. This is part of the healing process; learn how to Google. Also, the tattoo needs to be a minimum size depending on what it is to make sure that it preserves detail and doesnt look like a blob.

I have known Mike for about 10 years now. We became friends in the late 90s back in Oklahoma. I saw him in his tattooing infancy, practicing on himself and other friends. He finally put some ink on me back in 2007, a piece that I really dig. He took my somewhat vague description, and produced a unique design which was exactly what I wanted. Take one look at his portfolio, and you have to agree that he has some amazing talent. I look forward to having more of his amazing style emblazoned on my skin in the future. We have been discussing our next project, and I can not wait.
