This is how not to talk to someone on the phone. I was going to give five stars but then along came Lynn. Someone called me from their store which was blocked, I returned the call, but naturally did not get the person who called. I hung up,no problem. However, it occurred to me the reason for the call. I had inquired about pet vacs. That are held at that location. The person tried to help, but provided the wrong info. Still no problem as I was able to track down the web site. My thought was how great that they would call back to correct the info. So, I called back again to compliment then on their customer service, big mistake. Lynn immediately interrupted me in mid sentence and would not listen to what I was saying. Therefore a compliment was turned into a complaint and a lost customer. Too bad.

They have what I need 99% of the time. I was looking for a #5 brass machine screw, Lowes and Home Depot only carried #4 and #6. Found almost exactly what I needed here, just had to file off about 5 threads when I got it home for a perfect fit. Last week I went in looking for a tool I could use to make a clean cut in stranded steel cable, I grabbed some tin snips and was told by the sales rep that I had the wrong tool for the job. After spending about 15 minutes with me in the tool section I ended up at home with a small set of bolt cutters that made the perfect cut. The only time I didnt find what I was looking for was the day I went for a few extra brass screws and needed some safety pins, but I didnt exactly expect to find safety pins in a hardware store anyway.

I have visit this store many times but I will no longer go there after my last two visits. The same front-end lady provided such lousy service. I can tell she wasnt being selective with her service when I was in line because she helped the gentlemen in front of me quite nicely. When it was my turn she didnt look at me and got off the register to return things. Other than my experience, the store is well organized and you can easily find just about anything you need. Generally, everyone is helpful and knows the products. Prices are reasonable for hardware store of this magnitude near the middle of a city. Foot traffic gets high and sometimes register lines get very long. Id recommend going at less busy times.

The people at this store are always very knowledgeable and helpful. However, if youre looking to get an exact match for some paint, you may want to try Home Depot. I tried to match some there that they had matched for me before. I brought back the can with THEIR computer label, showing what mixture theyd used before, but for some reason they couldnt match it. I went there twice and they told me both time it would match and when I got home it didnt. I finally went back a third time and the guy that helped me had to eventually admit that they just couldnt match it. I went to Home Depot and literally in less than on minute they matched it 100% perfectly. So Ace is good for most stuff but not quite everything.

Barrel saved us over $650.00! I repair appliances. One of my customers had a gas cooktop. The screws that hold the burners in place had corroded. Some of them broke when I removed them. None of the screws at Ace fit because they were proprietary to the manufacturer. One of the guys (named, "Barrel") found a screw that was identical in every way except the head was too big. He was kind enough to grind the head down until it fit perfectly. Then he made 3 more for me, even though they were only $0.33 each. It wasnt like he was selling a big ticket item! He saved my customer over $650.00 because they didnt have to buy a new cooktop!

Earlier today I went in to purchase a dryer part. When I checked out it rang up as more expensive than the shelf tag. A price check came back and said the register was right, not the shelf tag. So I went back to the department to verify. The clerk met me there and when I showed him the tag and where I got the item, he accused me of moving the item to get a lower price. When I let him know this was not the case, he told me flat out I was lying. I couldnt believe it. NEVER will I go into this store again. To be called a liar is deplorable. They dont deserve to be in business.

This app either hires or trains Southern hospitality. Employees are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. If you have a problem to solve, ask them. If its a handyman problem that probably know more about it than some pros. If its unusual, they might not even know what youre talking about but theyll sure give it their best shot. Ive gotten help (and supplies) for everything from clogged drains to squeaky roof vents to metallurgy answers for blacksmithing to engineering questions on 3D printers... all to varying degrees of success, but always friendly.

Walked in and was acknowledged by one mature lady. I received no help and a couple of employees walked past me. I just happen to walk into an employee and he wasnt going to speak. Cashier was very rude and was talking about another customer as she walked out. Didnt pay attention to what she was doing while ringing me up. The little girl seems to get a kick out of being rude on the job.

Older lady at the check out line is slow as can be and just want to talk to customers in line. If you are doing a job or in any kind of hurry do not go here. Then when we kindly asked her to ring our stuff up she got mad and was very rude to us. Never going back here.

Great place. Extremely helpful. Ive left Home Depot several times and gone to this Ace Hardware to finish my project even though Ace Hardware is farther than Home Depot. While there I picked up some items for a future project and an impulse item or two while there.

They have a very impressive selection. The folks are very helpful, will give you suggestions for how to conduct your project. The store is sized for human beings, too, unlike Loews & Home Depot.

Great place to shop. You would not know you in a acehardware store. Plus they are very friendly and alway have a positive attitude. They unload my trailer pretty fast. Love them for that.

Good selection. Bad service /prices. I dont think anyone works here. Whoever is responsible for hiring needs to get on it. I have to walk around and find a clerk every time I come here.

Such a relief from the massive big-box stores in town. Westlake Ace has friendly, attentive, informed staff that you just cant find at Lowes or Home Depot, and prices to match.

Excellent inventory! Associates are SO helpful! So much more friendly than the big box stores! Sign up for Ace Rewards to get coupons and $$ off your purchases.

My favorite hardware store. Sometimes it is hard to find things, or find staff, but thats pretty much the way all big stores are nowadays. Prices are good.
