Tried to provide that "detailed HF customer review" that other HF customers come to depend on. You know, like so many others had done for me via online HF reviews and in their too wordy reviews have saved me countless tears and dollars. This store is crap, in my repeated experience. In multiple attempts to check out the resale section (the part of Harbor Freight stores that sells returned items often at 50% or less... at your own risk, this section is typically near the back or sometimes actually just inside the back of the store where all the stock is) employees: • didnt know what I was talking about • 2-3 times gave me the definite impression that they werent comfortable discussing it. (weird, maybe because other customers asked and were complained at the non-existent to "is this a joke" version of a resale section) • or waved a hand in that direction mumble mumble so I had to question info out of an employee like a less than cooperative child • once some resale items were placed in a parking lot sale and after pricing 2 items then matching id numbers with the same products in the store I pointed out to a couple cashiers the matched id numbers and prices showed that the resold items for sale outside were priced higher than the new product inside got me awkward "I dont know" replies. • Uhhh, You get the point. I kept trying because the location is so busy and closest to home but, over and over like a child i learned "that fire Hot". • Hhhhh Any excuse about resale items going fast due to how busy they are... Is crap. Ive shopped other HFs a couple more busy than this one and of course... More customers more returns. Less customers at least some returns.... Maybe the manager re-packages returns here. Idk. What the heck? Right? The resale aint the only thing. Consistent dont give a ***k attitude for the customer. Odd lack of stock. I cant make myself like this location and I tried. Scams and hussles and dont care. In my experience devoted repeat HF customers to HF newbs "talk themselves into" shopping at HF, at one point or another. Then many like myself get a taste for its unique kool aid and via customer reviews get hooked mining for HF gold.... It pisses me off I cant shop here. ....DriverDown

To Michael Kiley Kratzer, not all Harbor Freight Tool locations receive and sell Refurbished products throughout the year and not all get it during parking lot sales either. If you are looking for that, this store doesnt have a refurb stock all year round, so that may be why the sales people dont know what you are referring to. If you are referring to Open Box items with the purple stickers on them, they get mark downs per a company policy incrementally and not at the stores discretion. This location puts their open box products in the home locations of the product and only has a single 4 foot endcap for clearance items not on a plan o gram. That is set per a company wide plan o gram layout as well. The stores do not set the refurbished product pricing on the products that come in for the parking lot sales. They are already priced when they are delivered. Management is always willing to discuss price as the refurbished product survives each day of the sale. If you take a refurbished product that is priced equal, close to, or higher than new into a manger, they will usually work with you. I hope that helps clear up any confusion.

I work at harbor freight tools in Arlington (February-November 2015) as a floor person. I love to help people with whatever they need help with. I am a dedicated worker and do tons of call ins with no questions asked but the pay is horrible $8/hr and the hours are so bad that full time workers are getting 15hrs a week while the managers rake in all the money and the head manager is a total douche bag and has no respect for the workers or customers. Im glad I will be at another job making way more money with half the bullcrap Ive had to put up with them. DO NOT WORK FOR HARBOR FREIGHT UNLESS YOU APPLY FOR A CASHIER JOB!

Lots of stuff, yeah the tools are cheap but they have plenty of them to choose from. Trail Lake location has lots of specialty tools that you would normally have trouble finding, example: 2.5 to 3.25 inch exhaust pipe expander, I knew they made them just didnt expect to see one. Again lots of odd ball stuff that wont work forever but may get the job done.

Quality generally better than Crxxxxman. No place has a larger or wider selection of tools for all uses. Have had an air powered nail driver from them for over 15 years and just today finally had to go and buy a new one- from them again. They have a lifetime customer in me. And, (P.S.), I have never experienced any rudeness from the employees.

Three stars for this store, -2 stars for the location and rude checkout lady influencing rude customers. You will feel like one of the herd if you go anywhere near this store, best during off hours. PS every time I go to the Matlock and I-20 area I witnes an example of really bad/dangerous driving.

I had a ratchet bend on a stubborn bolt. Never seen it happen before. Thought I got my moneys worth the tools were cheap. I took it back and they replaced it with a better one! No questions, no receipt. Say what you want about the quality of their tools, but you cant beat a lifetime warranty.

Harbor Freight is hit and miss. They have some of the best prices anywhere on the items they carry. The downside is the quality of some of their items. This location is good and is usually well stocked. Note: before you go grab their coupons online. The 20% off is especially nice.

The "Central Machinery" concrete mixers are shoddily pre-assembled (nuts welded onto plates, missing bolts/nuts/washers/, screws over-torqued to the point where they break what theyre securing) and Ive had to return two in two months BUT the staff is easy to work with.
