Today I had called around checking places for my 15 yr old teenage daughter to have her belly button pierced. I spoke to a lady at Icon who explained how they were the best qualified and used better jewlrey than all the others in Murfreesboro. I also asked about their policies and was told that my daughter and I had to have photo IDs, which were no problem, plus I had to sign a permission form. I also asked about my daughters friend, who also wanted her belly button pierced. I explained that she was 14, but her mother was also coming with her. She said just to make sure that her mom brought photo IDs, or birth certificate and it would also be fine. So we went there, with our daughters, across town, to the best place in Murfreesboro. But...when we went inside and told them what we were wanting, we were told that they did not do that for anyone under the age of 14. I explained to the man and woman behind the counter that I had called earlier and was told that if her mom came and provided proof of ID, that it would be fine. I explained that I had spoken to a lady. The lady behind the counter said that I had spoken to her , and that she did not say that. This took me by surprise, that someone would just call me a liar like that. So I said yes you did, and I explained everything I had asked about, thinking I may have spoken to someone else. But she said that she was the only female working and that she would never say that. It is really Bad business to tell the customer that they are liars! If she had just said that she was sorry, and she must have misunderstood my question, or anything like that, I would not have been upset at all. But her attitude was so bad, and the way she spoke to me was so rude, that I will Never go there again. I would not trust a place that would lie over something like this. This tells me that they will lie about anything!! What would I gain by coming there if they told me they would not do this? I told my daughter that she was Not having them touch her, even though she was old enough, so we left. This lady obviously made a mistake when we spoke on the phone and tried to cover it up in front of the man that was also behind the counter. I also have doubts now about all the other stuff she told me about their store. She owes me, my daughter, my daughters friend and her mother, an apology. (not counting a reimbursement on gas to get there) If she were an employee of mine, I would fire her immediately. I will tell everyone I know about the treatment we received there. They lost well over $100.00 today, and I will do my best to see that they lose more by telling this story!! FYI- I had someone with me when I called and was listening to everything I was asking this lady. In fact, I was telling them what she was telling me at that same time. SO I have a witness to what I asked and what I was told. I do not like being called a liar,

I give this studio one star because of the stunt the staff pulled while I was en route to my last appointment. I had went there and got tattoos twice before and everything was fine. Nothing out of the ordinary. Nothing improper happened. Nothing. My appointment was for 5:00 p.m. on Friday. At 5:05 p.m., the girl at the front counter calls and asks if I am still coming to my appointment. I told her there was traffic and she said that there was traffic earlier. Then she proceeded to ask me if I was still breastfeeding. I told her I was. She then said that the studio owner said it was illegal for them to tattoo me and that he was pretty ademate about it. This is a lie. I have had work done before while I was breastfeeding. There is no way for the ink to get in the milk. The molecules are too large to pass through the tissue. There is a slight risk for infection. However, that chance always exists. I even researched online to be sure before I wrote this. There is NO such law!!! They waited until five minutes after my appointment to tell me this! Why? Who knows. It is definitely fishy!!! I told her I was coming to get my deposit. When I picked up my deposit, I asked for my designs and the girl told me "its either one or the other". I informed her I paid for them online and I wanted them back. She went to the back and got them. The tattooist never once came out and explained or greeted me. In fact, I am sure he was tattooing during my appointment time. I know this because they only have two artists on staff at a time. One was laying on the couch when I walked in, so I am positive it wasnt him doing the tattooing in the back of the shop(unless hes magic ;)). I acted like everything was ok. I went down to another studio (they, too, knew I was breastfeeding, yet still did the work) and got my work done. I will never go here again because of this. It would have been different if they would have called me earlier or told me that the week before when I got two tattoos on the same day. However, they didnt. Oh well, their loss.

If not looking for it you can easily overlook and miss this little shop. But going inside it is a great experience. Looking around, everything is clean and set up like a lounge. Making nerves come to an ease. The worker at the desk immediately greets you and gets everything started. The artists went to schooling and had training for it, so they are experienced. That is very important for anyone that is putting your health at risk. They are fantasic tattooers and piercers so if you bring in a piece they will make sure they get it to the very last detail. Actually they will deny tattoos if over time it will look bad because of the skin aging, or they offer to change it up to keep it looking as good as they first day you got it. Also deny piercings if it will lead to problems over uncomfortability. I went in for the second time to get a piece done on my ear that was hard to do. My piercer told me how more then 3 piercings at once on the same ear will cause a lot of swelling. I was determind to get my spiral piece done, so we went over what we could do and he offered to do in in parts to make sure my ear wont have a lot of excess scar tissue. He put my well-being first before my wallet. I asked another tattoo shop about the same piercing and they said that they could go on ahead and do it. Im glad I had a change of heart and went to Icon because that saved my ear! Making sure you are comfortable, they bring you into the very sterile room and get to work. Quick, easy, and very pefessional. Icon Tattoo is the best place to put your health and confidence into for your new body modification. They are all great guys to be around and they will make your experience a fun one everytime!
