I went with Friends for a Birthday gathering. I have to say that the first few times I have been to the Butcher shop have not been bad. Maybe a 3.5 to 4 star experience. I was not going to write this negative review due to it possible being an exception to the rule, but I finally decided to share. Our experience for the cost was poor. The waiter was ok, but the preppers failed to get several of the orders correct and the waiter corrected them as we brought them to his attention. My spouses steak was extremely fatty and gritty and probably would not have even been sold in the Mgrs special bin at Kroger. The Red Snapper was ok with the first couple of bits at the thick end, but the rest of the fillet was dry as a bone as if it was cooked for the lunch crowd and not the dinner time crowd when we were there. Also we were near the cooking station and the conversations we overheard from the cooking staff and waiters was very common and should not have been overheard by the guest. This visit felt more like a cheap truck stop dinner experince and was not worth the just under 100.00 that I spent. If the food would have been acceptable I would have ignored the staff conversations and not written this. The poor quality of the food did not justify the cost. Sorry, but we will not be back.

We went to the Butcher Shop last Thursday for my daughters birthday. We ordered 2 of the 20 oz. T-bone steaks and and order of grilled chicken. The waiter was good as he came around often enough to make sure everything was OK but not so much that he was a bother. My steak and the grilled chicken for my stepmother was fine but toward the end of the meal my daughter said her arm was tired from cutting at the steak. I took it and was going to cut the rest for her, turned out that I couldnt. The steak was mostly gristle and fat, we couldnt get ANYTHING off of the fillet side. When this was mentioned to the waiter he told us he would have the manager come out to see us. The manager never bothered coming out and left it up to the waiter to handle, nothing happened. The restaurant has fairly high prices and I expect to have a better cut of meat due that fact. The steak my daughter received was mostly garbage. I do not know if they strive for repeat customers but we will not be returning after this one and only experience.

I have recently dined at The Butcher Shop for the first time, it was an unforgettable experience for me. I took some of my employees there for our Christmas dinner, only 6 of us, and was more than pleased with the service and the meal. The only thing I would like to point out is that I was hoping for a quick visit to my particular table from the management staff to welcome us and make sure everything was great, which it happened to be. The Butcher Shop will be a very common dining destination for not only my colleagues and myself, but also for my family. The beef is fantastic, so much so I inquired with my waiter on it and he explained that the beef is choice and is wet aged for nearly a month, this must be the secret The Butcher Shop has used to continue theyre what seemed to be very regular clientele. Great job folks keep it up...

My husband and I went here for our anniversary, and it was amazing! Food is really good, tender and juicy. They let the flavor of the meat stand out, so if you like a lot of seasoning on your steaks make sure you let them know because they like for the meat itself to take center stage. You can cook your own steak if you want, but you have to ask to do it. My husband and I just let them cook it and they came out beautifully. Yes, they are on the pricier side. But for a good quality steak house, it wasnt overwhelming. Total for my husband and I was about $60. The baked potatoe was cooked perfectly, light and fluffy. If you are lucky enough to get in on Mondays, that is their $15 steak dinner nights which has been featured on Best Thing I Ever Ate Bang for the Buck on Food Network.

Went for the Friday lunch burger. We had a burger and salmon. The salmon was very good. The burger was not "to order." Between the cold burger buns and the incessant carpet sweeping buzzing around us, this place does not rate anything more that three stars. When we asked our service helper why she was so busy cleaning the floors and not attending to her customers, the answer was simple: "she has a large party every Friday and after lunch (2pm) she only has two hours (2-4pm) to prepare." Well, we were there at 1PM and we we "swept" up in her enthusiasm for the Friday evening party. To me, lunch service is analogous to the dirty restroom, ie, dirty restroom = dirty kitchen. So, if lunch service is bad ...

We were recently in Cordova for a family wedding and we stayed at the Agricenter RV park. Our relatives in the area told us to be sure and get the Friday lunch hamburgers at the Butcher Shop restaurant and to get there by 11 AM. Apparently the restaurant is only open for lunch on Fridays and they just do the burgers on Fridays. WOW! What a fine hamburger! Possibly the best Ive had outside of home. If you are in the Memphis area on a Friday, go and get there by 11AM. It fills up fast in the parking lot. The two burgers, soft drinks and a shared order of fries (plenty) cost us about 28 bucks pre-tip. Not fast food prices, but what a burger! The servers and other staff were friendly and helpful.

Worst restaurant Ive ever been to, we saw our waitress twice in the almost two hours we were there, we never even recieved the drinks we ordered. Since our sweet tea never came I had to constantly made trips back and forth to the bar. We got our appetizer in 45 minutes, another 30 minutes and we had our steaks. I ordered my steak cooked medium, came out well done and leathery. They also need to invest in a better air conditioning unit, its uncomfortably warm inside. The only positive thing I noticed is the place seemed pretty clean. Service was terrible, food was terrible, temperature was a little warm. I will never go back.

A friend and I went to dinner tonight , it was their first time ever going, was very disappointed at our service and especially our steaks The waiter was friendly but not very attentive after I was completely through with what I could eat of my meal he finally offered to fill my water glass Then told us the reason that we had to wait so long for any service was because he was helping with the big birthday party in the back, Im sorry but my needs were just as important as theirs Was quite embarrassed that I had talked this place up to my friend and then neither one of us and our steaks.
