Dear Rack Room Shoes, This has been a few months back now but it is still bugging me so Im going to do the only thing I know how and post on here, hoping to keep someone from making the same mistake I did. My wife bought me a pair of boots from this location. after less than a week of owning them the "leather" on the front of the boots began to peel off. Since these are supposed to be moderately presentable boots for work I took them back to the store (with receipt) asking to exchange. The girl at the counter said that they will not accept returns on shoes that have been worn and I had probably damaged them. Besides the fact that Ive never had this happen to a pair of shoes before, its clearly a defect in the shoes. Anyway, I asked to speak to a manager - well, shes the manager in training but is either not willing or not authorized to make this decision. I ask her to reach out to someone who IS authorized and she is unwilling and told me he would also not authorize it and there is nothing she can do for me. Well, she did give me the corporate customer service number, and flat out told me that they will not help me either. She was extremely unpleasant and made sure I knew that "There is nothing I can do for you." Where has customer service gone! I was not trying to get something for free, and I was not being rude or belligerent. Please do yourself a favor and if you want to buy a pair of shoes please DO NOT buy them here! Go next door to Ross or TJ Maxx! I will not be returning to Rack Room again

After one of my childhood friends told me about her experience in the store and being accused of scamming, I intentionally stopped through my hometown as I was heading back to Chattanooga (where I currently reside) from leaving Nashville airport. The service was subpar at best, and I was followed in the store. Another family member made a purchase, but they were quite hesitant as they received poor customer service as well. While I am not surprised at the racist undertones, and I am surprised that they would be so blantantly rude and ignorant. Oh tacky Columbia.
