If I could give 10 stars I would. Let me tell you about the other 2 local dealers we went to. We have been shopping for a new Star Wars Rogue or Murano for about a month now. One dealer would say "Yes the banks are on board, come on down and lets do this." Only to waste 3 or more hours to find out they were way off. Like by alot. I was put off by this because the sales and finance mgr new what they were working with and if that deal was not going to work...tell me and that would be fine. But to make us come all the way there when they knew it would not work is BS. I will say our sales person was amazing. He tried to make it work He was given information that was not right. He tried. The other local dealerships sales staff where just lazy and full of crap. Long story short, we were preapproved with Capital One. The first time we tried to trade my wifes Altima for the Star Wars Rogue. The finance guy came out and got us to 250.00 down and the payments would be around 550.00. Get to the finance office...base payment before any additional items was 680.00. I asked what happened to 550? (insert crickets here) He said something that did not make any sense. We walked out. For some dumb reason we decided to give them another shot and similar result. Our final offer was 2375 down. Sales person said the manager would take the offer. We went to the dealership and they said NO that offer is not good in fact they would need even more down. So I started to ask why and the one salesman started to get real condescending and seemed like he was making up financial terms in an attempt to confuse us. Did not work and I could see thru his attempt to muddy the water. So late that night, we made one last attempt to buy a Murano SV, which is the next step up to the S. And I made an inquiry online to Benson Nissan in Spartanburg. Travis Smith called us the next day first thing in the morning. My wife had told him what we dealt with at the other two major Nissan dealerships. He assured us that not only could he make a good deal for us, he could get us into an SL or Platinum. I am beyond skeptical at this point based on what we just went thru. We get to the dealership and he evaluated our trade, sat in the office and looked at numbers and presented us with numbers that looked great. That is IF they were accurate. The Platinum would be too much and he was up front with us as soon as he knew it. The SL is more than enough for us feature wise. So we are waiting to go into the finance office thinking that this is not going to happen. I am already accustomed to being lied to by dealerships. But...I would be wrong this time. We went into finance director Jed Frasers office. He had us sign a few minor forms then showed us the monthly payment. EXACTLY what was presented before. To the penny. WOW. When we first started this process sales manager Charlie said to "Be prepared for the most transparent car deal you have ever experienced." He was right. My mind was BLOWN for how easy this transaction was. Another thing I noticed was the atmosphere here felt lighter than the other two places. I did not feel the bait and switch, the high pressure tactics, or any of the other shenanigans (You are welcome Super Trooper fans) that we witnessed in the other two places. If you are looking for a new car, I cannot recommend the people at Benson Nissan enough. Check them out, you will be glad you did.

After doing (possibly too much?) research for (probably) too long, Id FINALLY decided that I wanted a loaded Deep Pearl Blue Maxima Platinum....options, accessories and color all carefully chosen. I fully expected my first ever new-car-buying experience to be daunting. I went to Benson Nissan and met with the most amazing salesperson Lisa and the incredible Manager Charlie Clendenin. Lisa was wonderful from the very beginning and answered all of my (many) questions patiently and professionally. Once Id gotten all my "details" listed on the car as I wanted it, I began working with Charlie on payments and price. Charlie (like Lisa) treated me and fielded all of my questions and concerns masterfully, gracefully, dynamically, patiently, professionally and expertly...all while genuinely feeling like an old friend is not seen in far too long. The level of respect and appreciation that I was treated with throughout the entire process was on level I NEVER expected while he continued to put me at ease and patiently answered several of my questions (often more than once!) as I slowly came up to speed on "the process". Charlie is the epitome of how one SHOULD carry themselves and interact with with someone who comes into any business looking to make a purchase. Both went FAR above and beyond to get me the EXACT car that I wanted and at an amazingly good price!! :) I could not be more pleased with Benson Nissan and both Lisa and Charlie. Not only will I proudly recount my experience there to any who will listen, I will strongly insist that others take their business there and give the Benson staff a chance to show them how a car-buying experience SHOULD AND CAN BE! My only regret....that I dont yet have enough money to BUY ANOTHER CAR FROM BENSON!!!! P.S. Five stars is nowhere near enough to reflect my experience. :)

Kellie Pemberton!!! I was impressed with her entire approach to the sales experience. She listened to my questions intently. She did something uncommon - she answered each question factually and truthfully! It was refreshing. No spin or hype. She let her yes be a yes and her no be a no. If she didnt have an answer, she was forthcoming about it and promised to research and provide clarification. This is most unusual in that most car salespeople either divert, avoid, or just plain lie. Within the first five minutes, she had answered all questions about the product, the incentives, and taken note of my priorities. The archetype places their desire for immediacy of "making a sale" (very short sighted) over the prospect of making a lifetime (career) of sales. Kellie is wise and does not succumb to the mediocrity of the typical salesperson She listened and learned about me, the customer, and used her product knowledge to absolutely "nail" a perfect match for me. This is the way all auto purchases should be. It would revolutionize the industry! I got the sense that she was working with me, not against me. I was able to relax and enjoy the experience with the confidence that I was not being tricked at any point. Refreshing! High pressure sales sucks! Kellie proved that there is a better way. SHE CARES! It matters more to her to have a satisfied customer than to just push something on the next "sucker" that walks in the door. So, if youre looking for a new car, go see Kellie Pemberton at Benson Nissan of Spartanburg. Youll leave with no regrets, youll leave with peace of mind, and youll make a new friend (or two). Thanks Kellie! Clarence Wilson
