Totally agree with others about selling its a total rip off. They say they will give a good price but I had 6 new hardbound books in good condition and they only wanted to give 50 cents each. They stated because they were newer so in demand so they would have more - looked they didnt. Plus going by business college training that means they should sell better. I also saw book by same author of one I had and they wanted $6.88 (more than double what they wanted to give me for my six books)! I may go back if I want to find a book to buy but will never sell to them again. .

Sell your books at a locally owned used bookstore, not Half Price Books. I recently tried to sell about 100 used books, in pristine to very good condition, all of which were published after 2007. After waiting a half an hour, I was offer $6.50 for all of my books, while the store would turn a profit of $400 after selling all of my books. What a joke. Support your locally run used bookstores and not this cain that tries to rob loyal customers.

Listen to the other reviews on this place when selling your books. I brought in some very expensive text books, all good condition or better, along with various paper backs. Each of the text were 90+ when bought a few months ago. Only wanted to give 10 for the lot. Such a scam, especially when they say pay best price when purchasing books. DONT SELL HERE, EVER!!

Poor performance! Offered 23 books in very good / good condition. Estimated value of books 160 - 180 dollars. Received $4 in trade. Short wait. Indicates not much research done on book values. While awaiting estimation noted several customers returning defective DVDs.

They just offered me $1.00 total for "The Outer Limits" Season 1 (1963-1964) DVD Set and one Guthy-Renker Carol Burnett DVD, both in perfect condition! AVOID this chain! Generally, they price stuff you sell them 10X to 20X what they gave you for it.

love this bookstore! you dont get back what you put into your books when you sell them to them. but theyre gonna be loved by someone else. sell 10 buy 1 and you come home to a slightly less cluttered home and a new book!
