Heres the thing about "Honest Eyes", sadly, like so many businesses in Lancaster, its a vanity business, a pet project. The woman who started it is married to a well to do Hershey exec and took online courses four years ago to "learn" the business. She has no experience or education otherwise. She says she sold glass out of the trunk of her car to keep costs low and, conveniently, no storefront to also keep costs low. It also allows her to work when she wants, not when you need something. Need something? Call for an appointment. The advantage of a regular store is, it has regular hours is open for business and can help you when they are open. By Appointment Only? Not so much. The "low profit" frames she sells are mostly remainders, discontinued glasses she buys up cheap so, yes, she can make a huge margin even at her low prices. Having no experience in the business, shes buying what she thinks is pretty, not what is well made, at least not intentionally. For the eleven years Ive been here Ive been the customer of another company and what irritates me about "Honest Eyes" starts from the name, implying other business owners who have devoted their lives to working and building a business here are not forthright. Its especially galling coming from a part time wanna be business opwner who works whenever she wants to. Hence this review. Theres no doubt Honest Eyes sell glasses cheap. Cheaper than other places? Maybe. Quality stuff? Maybe, maybe not, depends on how lucky you are. Do you know frame manufacturers well? Then youre depending on luck. What if the owner gets bored with this enterprise and decides its too much work, with little invested, she can do that. Its her right. Its just not the best way to run a business. If you do business with Honest Eyes just know the whole story, not the one publicists like to tell.

Wow, talk about a women who knows her stuff! Honest Eyes was by far the best optical experience I ever had!! I have worn glasses for 44 years and in that time, have never had a better experience purchasing glasses! I was instantly fitted to a pair of glasses that not only fit my face, but my personality! I was pegged as I walked in the door and had a short conversation with the owner. Then to top it off-icing on the cake-they were less then 1/2 of what I normally paid!! I am now the coolest kid on the block!! Everyone asks me where I got my "original" glasses, and when I tell them, Honest Eyes" they are next to get an appointment. Not only is Honest Eyes professional to work with, but dedicated to make you look good and at a price anyone can afford. I will never go anywhere else, and neither will all of my friends, family and --total strangers, who commented on my glasses. Thank you Honest Eyes!!

I always feel so overwhelmed when shopping for glasses at the big chains. Everything seems the same, you feel like youre being hovered over by someone who is more about making a sale than helping you find something you like. Everything you try on "looks great" even if youre skeptical. At Honest Eyes its a different experience. They help you find frames based on who you are. Sitting down on a one-to-one basis with someone who has years of experience fitting people for eyeware is a great experience. Ive owner several frames from Honest Eyes over the last few years and I will no longer shop anywhere else for glasses. If you havent checked them out I suggest you do, you wont be disappointed!

Ive had more than a few great experiences within customer services but never actually wrote a review. Here I am typing; and for good reason! While the incredibly fair prices and a variety of fresh looking frames are awesome—my genuine, honest, and personable experience emulates anything Id imagine from an ideal business. Especially one that involves facewear! It was a refreshing and honestly enlightening encounter, my own interest came before any other factors and the quality of the customer service was kosher. I would happily recommend going here to any of my four-eyed friends.

I cant say Ive ever had a bad experience here. Ive gotten glasses for myself, my wife got two pair, and we picked up a pair for our daughter, all at different times. I loved the fact that they took the time to get to know me. I was asked about what what I liked and didnt like about my old glasses as well as what kind of look I wanted to portray in the next pair. It actually helps that I needed to make appointments. It helped me pick out the glasses I wanted, not the ones I could quickly point to on my lunch break. No doubt Ill be heading back.

I loved getting glasses from Taralee. The whole experience is very personal yet still professional. She listened to what I had in mind and then suggested some frames. We worked together to find the perfect frames and the price was much less than I paid for my last pair of progressive lenses a few years ago. I am always getting compliments on them. Thanks Taralee!

I liked it a lot. They have a really cool selection of frame styles and the prices are lower than you would usually pay for those brands. The two people I talked with knew what they were talking about and I came out with a great set of frames. Glad I found it.

Honest eyes was great. I took my sons (9 year old) glasses there and had transitional lenses placed in them. My son loves his new lenses, thanks for the suggestion Taralee. Taralee was patient through the whole process with my son.
