I was a little hesitant to visit AA after reading all of the mixed reviews, however the majority of the reviews are old so IGNORE THEM! I had an absolutely wonderful experience at AA. My consultant, Rachel was absolutely fabulous. She took the time to get to know me, ask questions about the wedding (what style, theme, feel we were going for), how my fiance and I met, and what type of dress I was looking for. She was incredibly patient with me pulling the dresses I wanted, as well as similar styles. I also came with a larger than normal party, and she spoke with each member of my party, got their opinions, etc. The manager of the store was also fantastic, occasionally stopping over to see how things were going and was so incredibly nice.. The dresses are gorgeous and the prices are fantastic. I would definitely recommend visiting AA if youre in the Harrisburg/Central PA area! UPDATE 2/17/14: Unfortunately, I have to change my review of AA. Like I mentioned, I had an outstanding first appointment with them while selecting my dress. Rachel was absolutely fabulous and we worked so well together. So great, that I decided to take my bridesmaids there. We had an appointment, and the store was completely slammed, so we didnt even have a space to sit at first. I assumed the girl was new, as she seemed overwhelmed and unsure. All 3 bridesmaids said they wanted long dresses, and she kept pulling short. I missed the first few dresses that they tried on because I was in the racks myself pulling dresses. I knew that I wanted Navy, but had never seen the fabric swatch for the dress that I picked out UNTIL we were checking out! All I was told, very rudely by 2 different sales associates was that "nobody can find that swatch". Luckily, none of my bridesmaids would sign anything until we at least saw a dress in the same fabric in the color that I wanted. Again, I chocked it up to being a busy day, and having someone new. UNTIL, I went into pick up my dress this past weekend. The dress was handed to me by a sales associate and as I was heading into the dressing room she goes "oh, will you need help with that?". I was so irritated and shocked that she would even ask if I needed help getting into my dress, that I said no and just asked my mom to come into the room with me. After I tried it on, I was standing in front of the mirror taking it all in, 2 associates came over to talk, but it seemed that they were more forced to do so than anything. After I got out of the dress, we went up to the front and were ignored by 3 different people, until I asked for some assistance. I cannot wait until the bridesmaids dresses come in so I will never have to deal with this place again. I will never ever recommend this place to anyone, despite having such a positive first experience. VERY disappointed Alfred Angelo.

I am very plus-sized, so I was concerned about the number of samples that might be big enough for me to try. I neednt have worried - Jaclyn found me a wonderful selection of dresses, in a variety of styles. She was friendly, pleasant, helpful, open to what little input I had without being limited by it, and generally put me at my ease (asking me about my fiance was a nice touch - what bride-to-be doesnt like talking about him!) My budget was, by their standards, in the low to moderate price range, but that didnt reduce the service I received, nor did I feel it limited the selection offered. She let me take a break to talk bridesmaid dresses with my maid of honor, then come back to bridal gowns, all with the perfect balance - helpful but not pushy or intrusive, giving space when needed without abandoning us. She was patient through my indecision, and created just the right amount of urgency, encouraging me to make a prompt decision without pushing for premature commitment. The dresses I turned down here were lovelier and fit better than the best dresses at two other stores. The one down side, and the reason I can only give the store four stars, is that they would not tell me their prices for alterations. I got the impression that it was a store policy - at one point, Jaclyn said shed have to get the manager. All she could do was quote me an "average" price, which is a hypothetical number bearing no practical relation to any given customer. The only reason not to make such pricing information readily available is to hold the dress hostage on a bigger surprise bill than you think I would pay were I informed in advance. I ended up buying the dress I found at this store...but through a smaller salon that is upfront about the cost of alterations. Overall, well worth a trip - especially for larger brides (available up to 28 or 30, many samples in-store at 20+) - but if youre getting alterations done here, prepare to fight for your pricing information.

I had very minimal contact with this store. Im not currently in Pennsylvania; Im actually quite a few states away -- not in driving distance. Im trying to plan a wedding that is in Pennsylvania so naturally Im trying to narrow lists down so when I do go back to the state, I can efficiently manage my time. From what Ive seen on the Alfred Angelo website, the dress would have been the cheapest on my list. So I emailed their store to get a price. Erin explained that I needed to set up an appointment and visit the store. So I explained my situation and said I was deployed quite a few states away, I wouldnt be coming home for a few months and if I could just get a price that would be great. I had intentions of paying for a dress in the next month so I definitely had one before the wedding. I received another email from them stating their operation hours and saying to let them know when Ill be in the area and theyd schedule an appointment. Well that doesnt help me buy your dress in the next month. It was so inconvenient and military unfriendly. Giving me a price on the phone vs giving me the price in the store shouldnt matter. If I go to the store and you tell me the price there and I feel its too much; Im not going to buy it. Exactly the same as what would happen on the phone. Better off going to Taras in Camp Hill. Much more helpful and willing to work with you.

After a nightmarish experience with Nordstroms, I anticipated having to visit 3 bridal boutiques to locate my ideal gown, so it was with trepidation that I scheduled an appointment with Alfred Angelo. However, I am happy to report my fears were for naught. From start to finish, working with Laura was an absolute dream. Although my initial selection of dress choice was not available, Laura listened to what I desired in a gown & showed me gowns that, while not my first choice, absolutely reflected my personality and the style of dress I desired. She patiently helped this first time, nervous bride- to- be in & out of each dress; always with a smile, a bit of conversation and nary a complaint as she tied up each lace in the corset of the dress. On the 6th gown, she was able to bring the tissues because we FOUND THE DRESS! Although we only scheduled to meet with a stylist for the bride, my matron of honor and flower girl decided they would purchase their dresses at Alfred Angelo, as well; Laura was more than willing to assist in finding them the perfect dress! At no point did we feel rushed, uncomfortable or if I was just one in a long line of brides being seen on that day. Laura made me feel special and believe me, every bride deserves to feel special when shopping for that perfect dress!
