This place has gone downhill in the last year. They used to have decent prices, a good selection. It seems that now their prices are astronomical (some higher than MSRP on readily available merchandise elsewhere), but are pushing their "prices are negotiable" policy. Im sorry, but Im not going through the trouble of haggling just to get an "okay" price on an item. Also, since it seems that the owner has put "kids" in charge, the customer service level has dropped severely. Example: About two months back, on a Saturday, we went about 45 minutes before their posted closing time. All the lights were off, but the door was still open. I went to take some stuff out of my car and one of the kids rushed out, took a quick look at my stuff and said that they couldnt take any of it (a mix of DVDs, videogames, and other stuff that they sell in that store). We then decided to go into the store to take a quick look and there were three "kids" behind the counter, most of the lights were off, the back jewelry section was blocked off. We were quickly greeted with an impersonal "Is there something you are looking for?" By the way it was said we were were being leered at. this was a clear indication that they were obviously done working for the day, despite still having over half an hour until closing time. We walked out, disgusted and havent been back since. Im sure the owner would not approve of business being driven away, all in the name of being possibly (but doubtfully) held up from leaving work on time on a Saturday.

This place is bulls*$t!!! I called them a head of time and asked if they would pawn a 1/2 ct diamond solitaire ring, they hardly let you finish your words and want you to rush out for them to take a look. They give you the feeling that theyll give you a great price. Well needless to say, I drove 1 hr and 15 mins to this place and they took literally 2 seconds at it and said $100!!!! This ring is only a few years old, was purchased at Bailey Banks and Biddle for $2500 and was set in a platinum band!!! I also had all the paperwork on the princess-cut diamond (which is very popular these days). I completely agree with the comment listed by "brokenpinata". They need to get rid of the kids working there or have an employee meeting on how to run a business and how to treat their customers! Also a little education on items for their employees would help too!!! I Would STRONGLY recommend not wasting your precious time on this place!!!! Take it from someone who did!

I went in here to get rid of some jewelry I didnt/couldnt used. The staff was so helpful. I was able to actually have a piece fixed on site in under an hour. I then was so happy with the help that I traded my pieces in for two pieces I will actually wear often!! There is a certified professional jeweler on site as well as two wonderful women that helped me look for certain stones and stay within my stated price range. I am actually having a ring made to pick up in the future. I could not have been more shocked and pleased with the kindness, help, knowledge, and organization of this establishment! I will be a returning customer :) I recently added a small ring to my collection after completing a masters degree and had this ring made for me by TPJE. I was very pleased with the price and quality, I wear it daily instead of a class ring from my university. I could not be happier with my decision to go with this business.

I understand the previous comments, but since then the Pawn and Jewelry Exchange has been under new ownership. My entire experience went smoothly. The price tags are negotiable, so dont let them scare you away. I bought a 14K white gold engagement ring and they were able to size it while I shopped around. Later I was thinking about changing the stone out in the ring. I brought it down, talked to their jeweler, and he custom built me the EXACT ring that I wanted. For 1/3 the price of any retail! Id highly recommend going there, not only is their jewelry selection amazing, they also have all sorts of things. Ive been going back and looking for hidden treasures ever since. Their merchandise always chances, so Im constantly finding new things.

I purchased and sold several items several years ago while they were in their former location. I always received fair pricing whether I was buying or selling. I have also taken my jewelry to their jeweler, Brian, for repairs and would not go anywhere else. I have had rings sized, bracelets repaired, and I am currently having a custom ring designed and executed using a stone from a family heirloom necklace. You can rely on Brian for creative ideas and quality work at very reasonable prices. I read the remarks of other commenters on this site and am not sure where they are coming from. I have been in the shop many times over the years and have never seen an immature sales force.

When selling something, condition has no meaning here. When taking something in they seam to look for the lowest sell price they can find and will only buy for that price. If the item is scratched or damaged they work down from that found price. Beware of missing parts, if you are buying for a friend as a gift be sure to test the item fully. This group stands behind their merchandise however its only after you buy it and bring it back within the 30 day limit. They are friendly for the most part and they do provide loans for a low fee, against merchandise. They will also grant extensions on those loans.

I have been buying here for over 7 years, from Bose radios, to TV sets to many pieces the jeweler Brian has made for me, I think the place is great. I no longer have to pay the high prices of "jewelry stores". The workmanship is done to be unique, one of a kind and beautiful. I do not understand people giving bad remarks, for every time I have dealt with the staff, they have been polite, friendly and knowledgable. Strongly suggest people check it before buying elsewhere. A two thunbs up all around!

Rip off alert. They lie right to you face of values of items and waste your time. The tool guys knowledge of tools is about that of a house wife and after buying a grinder from them in the past and it breaking within one minute of turnin it on and being refused a refund, Aldo being charged double of what harbor freight charges for it brand new, I can say I will not be returning to these crooks. Bad buisness practices.

Purchased several items here so far, great deals. So far I have purchased the following: banjo, neon signs, movies, gift cards and much more. Oh and what a great deal: Gift cards cost less than face value. They buy items too! Just remember they can not pay full price (just like they say on pawn stars, they have to make money). The people are great too! We go in about every month just to look.

WOW. This place is terrible. My wife and I went into this place and felt totally uncomfortable. The workers ther were probably like 18-20 years old. They were more concerned with their group of friends there than the customers. There was another couple there that were african american. We overheard some racist comments from the employees and owner. We immediately left.
