Home Depot and Lowes are very similar but Ive always preferred HD. Ive purchased countless things from them and have not one complaint. Ive had to return things and they go above and beyond to make the customer happy. I recently noticed a wood closet system that I purchased went on sale and they refunded me the difference. Finally, I"m sure this depends on location but Ive always found HD staff to be more willing to help than other hardware stores. Other hardware stores in the area help you, but its like youre bothering them. Overall cant be happier with HD

I wanted to buy a utility trailer, but was told I have to use there notary of choice, where there signature, are on file?. What ever happened to freedom of choice. Needless to say I spent MY money eles where. Home Depot should get out of the trailer selling business if they cant have someone to go with you to your choice of a notary. I always thought both parties had to sign title in front of a notary to be legal. Guess laws change.

Less than friendly workers, lazy, not helpful. I stopped an associate to ask for help, had to wait for him to get off his personal call, rather than making sure what isle I needed all I go was a pointed finger and a range of isles. Disappointed, Lowes looks like the better place to shop. Very positive experiences at their store.

Good prices and inventory, poor staffing. You have to hunt someone down. If there is a person available they are usually with another customer and she/he is usually the only person knowledgeable in that department. This has been the modus operandi for some time. One reason more people pay more but dont go to the big box stores.

The two gentlemen that helped me in the paint department were so friendly and patient with assisting me. I was a bit unsure of how to go about my project and they not only were competent but encouraging as well.

I prefer Home Depot to Lowes. It used to be cheaper and better stocked, but thats not the case anymore. Even so, their customer service is fantastic. Store employees are great and knowledgeable.
