Test drove car with my kid, liked car, put a deposit down. Asked when I could have the car looked over at my dealer? Was told, NO (owner Larry Erban.. Cars are checked by outside shop (1st Shady Sign). Also car reduced and 10 day warranty will not be honored cause they are losing money (2nd Shady Sign). Go to pick up car next day with appointment. They watch me write check out, and then say."Hope that check isnt for the car no checks! Run all over to get a cashiers check and return almost and hour later Kid starts signing the paperwork, I step outside to look at car while she is still signing, and find they have placed temp registration tag over the grid lines of rear defroster. I instruct Mr. Erban that being AS IS Car, i want it in writing that rear defroster will be covered by them if not working correctly. After a HOSTEL disagreement with OWNER (Larry Erban) over defroster, he states, "You dont even know if it works or not (exactly) thats why I want it in writing. Mr. Erban then says. "Your buying a $ 3000 dollar car." (3rd Shady Sign). I say, "Well the Attorney General will like this." Owner then says, I changed my mind Im not selling you the car. Mind you my daughter has signed/printed Title completely, , Sale Agreement, Odometer Statement, and other form(s). BUYER BEWARE, . ..

The staff here at L & J Auto Sales is sorry we could not help Mr. Rehrig and he could not become one of our many satisfied happy customers we have every year. Our company sales policy and procedures were clearly explained and adhered to I. E. Personal Checks, Warranties and Mechanical Checks. Our 90 day units are drastically reduced and come with no warranties and no after sale assistance. These vehicles were serviced and Pa state inspected for safety and mechanical ability issues 90 days earlier when they were priced at its retail price. Mr.Rehrig was the one who decided he no longer wished to buy the vehicle because of the tape on the defroster grid. We honored his wish to try to make an unhappy customer a happy customer. We canceled the sale and returned his deposit. There was nothing unethical at all, we were aboveboard and explained everything. Just tried to make an unhappy situation a happy one.

Here are the facts. We bought a car with the only money my son had saved up before turning 16. We paid $6,000 to this company and two months later the car needs a new engine. How does that happen? This company stated they would "make it right" - for another $2,000 they said they would fix it. We have no more money. After two months this car is useless and my son has stopped learning to drive. A new engine would not have been covered on any extended warranty offered. Our niece had the same exact thing happen to her. I have reported you to the Better Business Bureau and Attorney General. Why would we pay anymore money for this vehicle?

I bought a car here a few months back 6/11 I stopped by several times while looking for my new car and they have some of the cleanest and better running used cars i found. I dont remember who i talked to but the employees all seemed pretty nice. My car is still running strong and ive put eight thousand miles on it since i got it. WILL DEFINITELY SHOP HERE AGAIN
