Hubby & I are big DIYers so hardly a week goes by without a visit (or three) to our friendly Ace Hardware. The folks there truly are helpful, as advertised. No matter what weird problem were trying to fix or bizarre thing we are trying to create, they are always right there with us ... brainstorming and looking for a solution. During a recent plumbing challenge, one of them spent a half hour or more helping us find just what we needed to fix things up (it was a particularly vexing problem that week). Yet, in spite of how hard we make them work sometimes, they always make us feel so welcome. The place just oozes small-town hospitality and its always our first stop when trying to find that doohickey to fix the whatchamacallit.

I wish to commend you, Leona, the friendly, helpfulness, in the Scappoose store is NOW exactly that! Thank-you for taking your time to iron-out a few problems. While I am at it, may I strongly commend the knowledge, courtesy, humble demeanor of your Treasure, SEAN! His knowledge of inventory is amazing, as well as his ability to comprehend, the not always crystal-clear, needs of his patrons. It is a rare thing to meet a man that makes you feel as though pleasing you, the customer, is THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN HIS DAY. Thanks Sean, for being you!

Mr. Second Amendment needs to take a deep cleansing breath and start over. The owners dont have a problem with guns at all. HOWEVER, their insurance company does. So if you like your store prices low and your staff friendly, lock up the guns before you go in. Its not the evil store owners dude, take a pill. Then go inside and find out why this mom & pop joint isnt threatened by the big box stores. Its called personal pride and service. I know I worked for them for 12 yrs.

VERY RUDE! I called to see if they had a part I need for my lawn mower and they cut me off mid sentence saying we are closed. I called another location minutes before and they were very helpful even though they were most likely closed as well. This location is very rude and why answer the phone if they will not help? I cannot get over how incredibly rude that was! I asked if she could just see if they had the part I need and she said no, we are closed.

I am not sure what the comment below about not supporting 2nd Amd. Rights is all about but if you are looking for a place to go where the employees are knowledgeable about all things hardware, this is the place to go! I go here for all my hardware needs (other than lumber) and I have never been disappointed!

They have most things I need, and kind folks to help me find it. When I need specialty items they have enough experience to know what I am talking about, find their options, and offer alternatives.

They have a guy on staff who fixes screens for windows and doors. They are next-door to a pharmacy and near a discount grocery store. It is the perfect small town stop to get everything you need.

Always very friendly staff and most are knowledgeable. Pretty good selection for a smaller store in a small town. Love this place.
