The customer service is horrible at times! I mean, simply unbelievable!! Do these employees think they still live in Russia? Seriously, get them some training on how to be at least respective to the customers. Management/owner, do your employees get regular breaks? Why are they so rude and impatient with customers? Do they not understand that every customer essentially makes their job possible? Please, educate your employees! I really hate spending money at your store and get treated like crap....

I visited the store with my friend yesterday, it will probably be the last. The food is good, but not worth the treatment we received. We were stared at the whole time, just because of our ethnicity, and that my friend, who speaks perfect Russian, has a different accent the Ukrainian shop keepers do. They rolled their eyes at us the whole time we were making our purchase, and then when we checked out, looked on impatiently with strange looks of disapproval and hands on the hips. We have done absolutely nothing to deserve this. This was a very unpleasant and strange experience, we wont be back again.

Great tiny little place to squeeze into for some Russian goodies. They offer handmade pastries and cakes, prepared foods, and have a selection of other imported and/or homemade items. Good selection of authentic Russian candy and chocolate, tea, preserved fish, meat, and sausage, and freshly baked bread. Whenever I am feeling nostalgic and missing my roots, I go to this store. I have visited a few others around Portland but always go back to this one. Very friendly people. Not all speak English but all the young employees do.

Mind blowing selection of authentic Russian foods, drinks, pastries and many many other items. I always find here something new to taste and always feel myself back home. I have been to many other Russian markets in the town and can tell you this is the only market with such wide variety of Russian foods. Its not only about food variety but also the feeling that you get in that store is different! They cook food in their kitchen! People are nice! Definitely recommend this market!

I wanted to try out a russian cake for when in laws come over so my sister in law and I walked in and asked for samples of the cakes. Grossest thing I couldve seen. Mold. Mold. Mold. Rotted cake. Fresh produce is not good here. I asked my sisters about it and they told me the same thing she bought a cake for home and it was rotted. Still Love shopping here for other supplies and the staff is friendly. But they should definitely get a new baker.

Stopped by a couple months back, while visiting Portland. The store was a complete mess. Shelves were disorganized, flies everywhere, weird smell, rude cashiers. Stopped by today and was pleasantly surprised. Everything was organized, the store was spotless, smelled clean and all the baked goods looked fresh. The cashier spoke English to me and even gave me like a half a smile. Thats a huge improvement. Keep it up, guys!

There are various Ukrainian prepared foods that you can choose from just like a buffet except there is a nice woman who weighs the food and puts it in containers which you then go to the cashier to pay. They have various fresh breads such as Lavash. There are various European foods here. Mostly Russian or eukranian customers. A very calm and quiet ambience which is always a pleasant experience.

I was there a couple of times and half of their food its expired ... I notified one of their employees... she said ok but didnt make the smallest effort to remove the expired food from the shelves .... I dont trust their hygien too ... Plus I cant stand their rude faces . No work ethic at all ..

Well.. Ill never eat their pelmeni or piroshki again. the pelmeni was old and freezer burnt. I have never tasted pelmeni this bad. When we called to tell them about it, they were rude and at one point said, I have given you too much time on the phone now. Their piroshki is awful tasting.

Хороший выбор продуктов. Специи не просроченные как во многих русских магазинах. Есть кошерный уголок с мясом. Приветливый персонал.

A very good selection of products and friendly employees. If you do not speak the language or other customers are there shopping you will have a feeling of being watched and judged. Not maliciously but it does make you feel a bit out of place.

By far, a well-stocked Eastern European grocery, from some harder to find pickles to dry & cured fish & a smorgasbord of deli items & baked goods. It might get a little busy, since the shop is small, yet the service is courteous and thorough.

Looks nice now... remodel made a huge difference.. looked like a disorganized dump before. Now I feel comfortable going inside and have to not worry about triping over a box filled with canned food.

Great khochipuri! I dont know anywhere else in town that makes it. Freshly butchered lamb. I dont buy bead here, though. Its fresh but their Borodinski doesnt even have coriander.

Tightly packed neighborhood store with its own bakery. Large import pharmacy section. Big selection of Russian Muscat wine. Great deli counter with prepared foods.

I bought honey cake, but it tastes like baking soda cake & not sweet at all. I wish I can get my money back, because the cake is going to the garbage

This place is amazing. Pastries are lightly sweetened and not overpoweringly sugary at all. Really well done.
