Love Presents of Mind - and its well-named. Thoughtful, silly, sometimes outrageous gifts, books, clothing...the owner is clearly staying ahead of things and using his noggin. Im not a diligent shopper. When I get the urge to buy a gift, I want to get it, quick. And Im lazy: I want to stroll a store, and have things jump off the shelves at me. Im not a gold digger. Everytime I need a gift, I go to Presents of Mind, and just ... stroll ... wait. and there it is! The perfect little statement to send to my quirky friends. Plus, if I need help, the friendly, down-to-earth staff will help me. But theyre not falling over themselves asking, "Can I help you find anything?" What a shopper needs, to find what she wants in a place like that, is space. So, I appreciate the vibe in there just as much as the selection of oddities, great cards, and some effin tony jewelry at very reasonable prices. The End

Big fan. They really helped me out by being open late when I came looking for a menorah at the last possible minute on the first night of hanukkah a year ago. Service was friendly, and there was a huge variety of cards and gifts to choose from, serious business and a rare find. Last stop on a cross town search that yielded no fruit, outlooks more grim as the time past, until POM stepped up and delivered the goods, and sent me on my way. Really made my night, after clerks at another store said "Whats a menorah?", that I could pick one up on such short notice, after 8, in a new city, all alone.

"Youre house is so trendy" said my little nephew when he visited recently. I asked why and he pointed out all the funny little quirky items Ive purchased (or received as gifts) from Presents of Mind on Hawthorne. There you have it - from a little person, the best place in town for trendy (and quirky) gifts is Presents of Mind. They also have the best ever greeting cards and jewelry. I especially love that they have a large variety of items from local artisans.

Addicted to their jewelry. Lots of amazing local made jewelry here. I bought one necklace that I just loved but the chain broke (after I pulled on it for about a year). I went to buy a new chain and they offered me one for free. Then I found out that the woman behind the counter actually made my necklace (my favorite piece of jewelry ever). I love supporting local artists and being able to wear something unique. Fun store!

My go-to place for gifts for years and then I moved out of the neighborhood. Went back the other day to browse and knocked out TWO holiday gifts in nothin flat. So glad that they have not changed in the over 15 years I have been shopping there (except for the addition of some really excellently curated - and affordable- dresses). I will be headed back before the holidays to see new stock and just enjoy the fun atmosphere.

If I could choose only one place to shop for the rest of my life, it would probably be Presents of Mind. They have a great selection of quirky gifts, paper goods, apparel, and gorgeous jewelry. A great deal of their products are locally made! Its a rather small store, but one could easily spend hours looking at all the neat stuff!

A crammed little shop with so many miscellaneous, well-read goodies to explore. Their greeting card selection is excellent (although a little spendy). But $5 is totally worth it to bring a smile to someones face and support artists. Love yo come here for gifts and for browsing.

Where else could one find a board game called "Mr. Bacons Adventure"? No where, thats where! This place is king of good and not-so-good gifts and trinkets. Also notable for a neat selection of locally designed t-shirts!
