Aloha Mark! I visited Portland a few weeks ago. Since then, Ive shared the details of my trip with many friends and family and while describing my experiences, I was surprised to discover that I could not stop talking about your wine bar. Surprisingly, this impromptu visit turned out to be one of the highlights of my trip. Now, Im an easily excitable girl, but this discovery is particularly incredible since I didnt have a single sip of wine---in fact, I drank only water. (I was accompanying my friend—an avid wine drinker and red wine enthusiast) With that being said, I felt compelled to write you to let you know that despite not being a wine drinker, my time learning about your wine and your story left quite the impression and I think its appropriate that you receive an honorable mention. Your attention to detail and enthusiasm for what you do was not only impressive, but inspiring as well. Simply, It was wonderful to witness someone genuinely enjoying what they do. Without a doubt, this is the reason why me and my friend found ourselves wishing we lived in Oregon so that we could come visit Island Mana all the time—especially for movie and trivia night! Again, I cant comment on what your wine tastes like, but judging by the reactions my friend had as she was trying your wines and the amount of bottles she purchased to bring back home…Id say that your passion has resulted in an exceptional product. I wish you continued success. You mentioned that youre opening up shop in my other favorite place---Hawaii. Hopefully, I will see you in Hawaii one day. Sincerely, Alyssa

The Portland Wine Bar is at the perfect cross section of excellent service, a wide selection of local wines, and good atmosphere. Each person working has their own vibe and brings a different experience to the night. Joes big smiles and hearty greetings are a good pick me up after a long day. Stefanies calming presence and idle chatter is a good thing to unwind with. And though I havent seen Mark in a while, his quiet mannerisms keep the atmosphere light and comfortable. As for wines, the rosé that was just recently on the menu was a personal favorite, but Im usually partial to house whites. Marks labels, in particular Island Mana and The Winery at Manzanita, are always an experience. I recently had the guava wine for the first time and was surprised to find I loved it. Overall, its a wonderful place for relaxing after work, maybe even a quiet date or for a small party of five or so. Personally, I consider it my local go to and recommend it to any visitors I encounter

My friend, who was visiting from out of town, and I stumbled upon the Portland Wine Bar while walking around downtown. What a wonderful surprise! The Portland Wine Bar carries a really impressive and diverse selection of wines that I havent necessarily seen elsewhere at other wine bars in Portland. Try the tropicals, youll love them! I definitely think there is a wine for everyone, no matter what his or her palate is. Sierra, our server, was super helpful and knowledgeable about all the wines. She made the whole wine tasting experience very fun and approachable. My friend and I felt comfortable in this relaxed and inviting environment and will definitely come back again!

Girl at the bar was not overly friendly. Used the bathroom which is behind the bar. I guess I spent too much time getting back to my seat which was a total of 20 seconds. Got the whole story on the LCC and pretty much scolded me. That wasnt enough she explained to all my friends why I shouldnt have been there. Was not a great experience. She took my glass away and did not offer another as my friends bought and split a bottle. I had to use my friends water glass. Wine was good as well as the atmosphere. Just not a fan of that gal. Also the popcorn is horrible.

My husband and I stumbled into The Portland Wine Bar and Winery Tasting Room after a day of sightseeing. We are so glad we did. What we thought would be a quick diversion ended up being a highlight of our time in Portland. Joe made us feel at home with a hearty welcome and engaged us in conversation with the local regulars. We learned so much about Portland (and PNW region wine) in our short time there. If you are interested in discovering great, new wine, AND a little Portland local flavor, do yourself a flavor and pay this gem a visit

The Portland Wine Bar is a great place to start or end an evening in Portland. Though they dont have an expansive collection, the wine they do have is nicely curated. For instance their flights all crescendo from light to bold, and explore famous northwest varietals and unique vintners blends. I ordered the 1/2 size cheese plate and the portions were generous. The cheese was delicious. This was not the best wine tasting I have ever had, but for Portland it was a good value and atmosphere. I will be back.

Let me give a Chinese review here. Portland downtown 一家葡萄酒吧。種類繁多,以Oregon 本土酒為主,酒牌有wine tasting可選,可以一次過品嚐4~6種本土紅、白酒。位置係購物區过近,地點方便!

They have wine bar and coffee shop. One thing we noticed is that more people were stopping in for the coffee. They had a small selection of pastries, but the place had a fun minimalistic vibe. The tropical wines were all more dry than sweet, which was a nice change compared to Tedeschi Winery in Maui. They all had a hint of the fruit they were infused with, so not over powering. Well be coming back here soon.

The wine selection was really good but the service was slow because there was only one employee working. It would be great if at least two were on stage. Dont get me wrong, my server did her best to help me out but she only has two hands, on weekends things get busy and people start to miss out on the perfect wine experience. Management, please hire one more person.

A dog named Pinot is the perfect reason to give a business 5 stars is it not? Well that and the pinot was fairly spectacular. Plus conversations with Mark about NASA. Best combo ever.
