Let me preface this by saying that if you are looking for cheap, low quality food, this is not the place to go. Things like hot pockets, meats full of added chemicals, and frozen dinners filled with fats and salts to make crap taste good are in short supply, if not non-existant at this store. Instead, they stock the shelves (although the store is somewhat small), with good quality, locally sourced, organic when possible merchandise. Yes this will be a bit more expensive than totinos frozen pizzas, but comparably speaking, for the quality of merchandise the prices are very good compared to similar stores like Roths, Trader Joes, Whole Foods, etc... They have a great produce selection (although maybe a little on the expensive side when things are out of season), with some more uncommon vegetables. Also a great variety of specialty mushrooms. The butchers block stocks locally sourced meats from places like carlton farms. What really stood out for me (being a beer geek who works for the largest brewery in Oregon) was the fantastic beer selection. The domestic beer section was extremely limited to make room for a vast selection of craft breweries from across the world. They even have 2 end-caps dedicated to vintage beers dating back as far as 2006 (from France). I have seen some of these breweries in other stores, but in limited selections. Here, they stock many selections (5 varieties from ommegang, for example). All in all, this is one of my favorite places to shop - fresh, good quality, good selection, and organic when possible. The staff has always been friendly in my experience, especially the guys at the butchers block. Look online for specials, it will be surprisingly affordable if you shop for whats on sale (even if other merch is a little on the spendy side). I left today thinking I was going to spend about $140, but ended up paying $104. Maybe Im gushing because of the beer selection.. but seriously its a good shop. Parking is limited.

The "deli" and bakery items are restaurant quality and beyond. Produce is immaculate and thereby a bit more pricy, but you absolutely get the quality (as with everything here, really). The natual health/beauty section has lots smartly packed into a small space. They also have a large selection of bulk items. Cash registers and checkout is usually pretty slow, with often just one checker and a long line waiting. Huge beer and wine selection. Perfect place to pick up a local bottle of wine, fresh baked baguette, fruit or olives, artisan cheese and maybe a cheeky dessert before heading out to the park.

Market of Choice originated out of Eugene, OR and has locations throughout Oregon, while some may say it is expensive I would generally disagree, most of the products are of quality that you can only find at stores such as Whole Foods or New Seasons and generally Market of C. is priced better than those. The deli has an extensive selection of pre-made food, the meat department is stocked with painted hills and other high quality meats/seafood/etc. Anyway Ive had awesome experience both shopping and previously working at Market of Choice, hope you stop by it sometime :).

I agree with the reviews below. Store is small, but they have high quality produce, products, and ready made food. They do soups for each day of the week, and I cant wait for Wednesdays to come around so I can get beer cheese soup! Wow, please try the beer cheese! They have a sushi chef on hand and even make brown rice sushi. They have a great salad bar, which I enjoy a lot. Good deli and ready made options. Not an everyday price, because it is pricey, but good when you need a quick meal or dont want to fuss with dinner. Service can be hit or miss.

Market of Choice is a decent grocery store although I always feel a little bit claustrophobic due to narrow aisles. It has a good selection of organic produce and a nice meat department. Its a little spendy for doing everyday grocery shopping, but handy if you want a nicer home cooked meal.

Market of Choice has a great deli, OK produce, high prices, great wine & cheese selection. One thing Ive noticed... Dont count on freshness- Sitting here with moldy "Jerusalem house Fiesta Hummos" that doesnt expire for 10 more days. Ive brought home yucky lettuce a few times as well.

I really try & come here occasionally - while its only 10 min drive from my house and conveniently open till 11 pm, meat section personnel leaves earlier, so, your options end up limited. The place is best for dry goods, health & beauty supplies, wine & beer department is in the lead :)

They pack a nice variety of items into a small space, plus they have a good deli and coffee bar. I shop all over and have found their prices to be competitive... quality is comparable to Zupans but I would say about 30% less. Plus, they rotate stock and have new items in often.

One of my favorite supermarkets in Portland. Always fresh and good-looking (if expensive) vegetables, and an excellent butcher counter (the butcher counter in particular is surprisingly affordable if you keep track of their monthly specials).

This store is a great locally owned gourmet grocer. There is an extensive deli, coffee, juice and hot food bar even in a small space. Down a few stars for the weird layout and lack of front end staffing even as customers queue up.

I love the fact that this store caters to its clientele. They order the products that their shoppers want. It feels very accessible. They are always happy to help when you ask, and everyone is pleasant and personable.

I mostly go there during my lunch break for their prepared food selection. They make some of the best pizza in Portland and make great deli sandwiches. They also have a decent beer selection (for after work obviously

Great local grocery store with nice produce, excellent meat department, delicious bakery and great wine selection. Since they are small they dont carry everything that the larger stores carry.

Nice neighborhood market. Not the largest selection but a nice meat counter, good produce and a very good beer and wine selection as well as a well-stocked deli and wood-fired pizza.

They have a great selection of quality food. Its not cheap but its also high-end eatin. Is it just me or do all the cashiers kinda seem like they are all members of the same cult?

Not as large as other Market of Choices but still a good selection of products. Careful getting into the parking lot, people dont seem to understand where they want to go.

An excellent little neighborhood grocery store. Also, a great place to get a cheap dinner. Pizza of the day slices are less than $2 each, and they are awesome!

A great local store with good produce, meats, bulk section and other foods. Their deli also has a great selection if you want a quick and healthy bite to eat.

This is a very nice store. The sushi is fresh and fabulous. The checkers are always friendly. The people in the deli are often not very friendly, though.

They have the best cake slices you can buy for about$3.99 ! They are large and better tasting than Safeway- though Safeway is fine- these are just better

I thought this seemed like a nice place. So I applied to for a job here. Then, I was informed of the gender discrimination in their policies. No thanks
