These guys will have the organic, free range, grain free food us Portlanders demand but they have no clue when it comes to special diets. I came in looking for food for my cat with kidney disease, something 1 in 10 senior cats will get. I had a prescription from my vet and was hoping to find a more cost effective food than what the doctor was selling. The staff here looked at me like I was from another planet. Not only did all three of them not know what I was talking about, they tried to tell me that the low protein/high phosphorus diet my sick cat needs was bad for him! One worker even tried to tell me my vets food would be all grain and deadly to my cat. The worst part though was when I stopped at Petco on my way home. I hate that place but wanted to try out all my options. Not only did the 15 year old stock-boy know exactly what I was talking about, the manager he took me to explained to me why I cant buy the food Im looking for in most stores. If you are one of those that want your high end cat treats to come in a fancy recyclable bag, this is the place for you. If you want informed sales staff that can actually help you with a real problem, look elsewhere.

Awesome place, I was there this morning picking up food for my cat and noticed that there was a customer throwing a fit about his credit card not working due to complications with his credit card company. After some time of him arguing over the phone, the sales clerk offered and proceeded to buy the customers item. Wow! What a great and generous thing to do, not saying she needs to do this for everyone. But she noticed how troubled the gentleman was, and did it as a "keep your chin up" kinda deal. Just wanted to say that I noticed your kindness and that I really appreciate having good people out there.

The staff here are always very helpful and friendly. They offer a wide range of toys and foods for all types of animals. Also, they have healthy alternatives for flea treatments on younger animals. They do tend to have higher prices, but the quality and great staff go along with it.

I really like this shop. Its not the largest place, but they have a fantastic selection of top end foods and treats. I need specialty food for my dog and they were great at helping me out. They also have a really nice section of different toys and natural pet health supplies.

The staff at Healthy Pets is amazing. They are always helpful and kind. Today, I called in a panic because my cat was sick and I couldnt find his carrier. I raced in there and they had a cardboard carrier ready for me at the counter. They are absolutely amazing!

I love this place! Im almost there everyday. PJ MY Norwegian elkhound. Just runs to the place to get his water and treats. I have brought things back, with no problem. They are very knowledgeable.
