I was refused service and treated horribly because of my service dog. My ALICE rucksack was recently stolen from my pickup with all of my hiking/hunting/backpacking gear worth over $1600 in it and I have been trying to replace everything. I came in planning to spend a substantial amount of money at this store. Due to the fact I have PTSD from a combat tour in Afghanistan during my time in the Army as a Combat Engineer I have a service dog who helps me in crowds, when I get stressed, certain smells and sounds, or other things that make me very uncomfortable and at times trigger an adrenaline rush and fight or flight response. I entered the store and saw the owner going through some product and was told he would be with me shortly. This is when things went bad. He said I couldnt have an animal in the store I informed him it was a service dog. He started grumbling about cats and I started explaining what I was looking for since he stopped sorting through what appeared to be new product for the store. He cut me off and told me to go look around brushing me off. As I turned to look around he started making a big deal about my dog again. I informed him again it is a service dog for my PTSD. He then began demanding paperwork and when I informed him I had none on me and that it is completely illegal under Oregon statute 659A.143 he continued demanding proof and made it very clear that my business was unwelcome and he wanted me out when he started saying free speech I can ask what I want and if you have a problem with it call the cops. I was getting very heated at this point so I informed him that I would take my business elsewhere and left the store quickly in order to calm down with him still saying cal the cops then mockingly as I walked out.

We have been going to this amazing place ever since their beginnings over 30 years ago. It is family owned and has great prices. One thing you should know, they dont just carry Army Surplus, they carry a huge assortment of NEW things and it is THE best place to buy New socks and gloves and t-shirts and on and on. The range of stuff is like unbelievable. And the Military Museum type items that are displayed all around the store just make it such a fun and interesting place to be. The whole family will love it. I cant say enough about this great place and the wonderful folks who own it. We were very sorry to hear of the dads passing recently, he will be missed. Randy is carrying on and making some great changes while still keeping the tradition and original feeling and flavor of this unique store.

The only REAL military surplus store that Ive found in the Portland area. You could go to Andy&Bax and buy "military stuff", but its almost all new and priced as retail. You walk into Alleycat Supply and its rows of cardboard boxes with descriptions and prices in sharpies. All of the stuff that I saw is either used surplus, or is a "manufacturer made too many, so heres a giant box of cold weather thermal shirts for $2 each.". Not to mention the 4XXXXL shirts of fabric for $2. We bought a pair of genuine leather german combat boots for $25, and since he sold the last pair for $20, he "wouldnt feel right" charging us the same. Awesome service. Go here first, and anything that you cant find here, go to Andy&Bax.

WOW! WOW! WOW! My wife and I stumbled upon Alleycat Supply while passing through Boring, OR and we were absolutely AMAZED at the selection, prices and generosity. We live in Washington (a nearly 100 mile round trip from where we live) and we expect to make many trips in the future to Alleycat Supply because it is worth it! My only complaint would be that we didnt see any shopping carts to put all of the great stuff that we found in - just like some of the other posters mentioned, you go in expecting to buy maybe a couple of things and walk out with loads of stuff because of the many great deals. I almost never post reviews but I just had to for this store, they are truly a hidden gem.

HOLY COW!!!! When the previous reviewer stated this place was dangerous because there is so MUCH GOOD STUFF at a very reasonable price, he wasnt kidding. My husband and I were only looking for a couple of heavy duty duffle bags, but we ended up with a cart full and plan to stop back by before we head home to Missouri. My only complaint was it is very, very difficult to find even with google maps......but it was well worth the time it took to find. (By the way, the cart full was the price of 3 duffle bags at another store.)

Found this to be a very well stocked place, which is "dangerous" as you will find stuff here that you didnt know you needed but cant seem the to leave the place without purchasing. Obviously a very courteous staff willing to stop what theyre doing in order to assure your questions/needs/wants are all addressed. I look forward to my next opportunity to shop here.

I came from out of town, specifically to do some shopping here for some gear. When I pulled up in the parking lot at approximately 3:00pm today, the "closed" sign was illuminated and the lights inside were off. So much for being open from 10:00am to 5:30pm on Saturdays. The sign in the window has the same hours as the website and Facebook page.

Came by at 4:00 PM on a Tuesday when Google, the Facebook page and the stores physically posted hours stated that they would be open (until 5:30 PM). Instead, the closed sign was on and no one was around. After a significant drive to reach the store, I will not be returning to a store where the owner cannot abide by their own posted hours.

Great place to find good deals on military surplus as well as other nick-nacks and odds and ends. I always stop by to pick up wool socks before hunting as well as other essentials. Hour do vary quite a bit, I think theres only 1 guy running the place now. Best to call ahead.

Bought an army tent here. Received personal service, honest, forthright. No games. Not the most organized place but Ill take old fashioned folks who care over glitz n marketeers any day. I would happily shop here again.

One of the only places near by with actual surplus. Always good prices and nice people. Beware the cat for he demands pets.
