Worst shopping experience I have ever had. Went in on a Tuesday to buy a washer at that point I was asked if I would be interested in a display model for a cost savings. I said no but when I went back to pick up the washer I was told that a display model was all they had. When I complained I was told at every level all the way up to general manager that there was nothing that could be done. The general manager tried to make it sound better by saying at least it was not a refurbished model of which they had one available. Got the washer home it would not drain when I called the store to see if they could be of any assistance all they could say was to bring it back and try buying a different model. When I did load it back up I started noticing things like scratches I knew we had not put on it, which could be an issue associated with display models. But there were multiple screws missing from the back plate suggesting that indeed mine was refurbished or serviced already. From beginning to end I feel like I was dealt with dishonestly, nearly as bad as a stereotypical used car lot. At this point I do not feel like I could purchase anything from them or any of their other locations even. I would find it hard to believe this approach of how to treat their customers just happens to be a single branch it would seem more likely as a corporate wide mentality. Staff was not knowledgeable while the managers, of which I spoke to four were all rude. Save yourself a lot of energy and the headache shop elsewhere.

I dont know if all Menards are run this way, understaffed, poor management, poor inventory management, not very customer centered. I have been to this store 4 times and EVERY time I leave Im either frustrated to very upset. Unfortunately I started a large project with a specific material only carried by Menards, so Im stuck with them until this project is over. No one on the floor who can answer a question, no one in the yard to help you load, non responsive managers (I waited for 15 min to talk with a manager, but he never showed up, probably dealing with another upset customer.) I expected a slight discount on a product because they didnt have what I needed (they told me they let the stock on items get to zero before they will re-stock) The department manager just said "Sorry" I asked if there was anything he could do to help as I drove a long way, "Nope" was the only reply! I cant wait to get this project finished, then I wont have to deal with the incompetence of this store.

We almost always enjoy shopping at Menards and your store people are mostly fine but our last shopping experience was quite poor. I am talking about the people working in the back warehouse who not only did not greet us, they were rather rude. Two workers were chatting while I stood there for 5-6 minutes. When I asked "can you help me" one said we are both busy. Then one of them without asking just reached for the document in my hand and started walking out of the warehouse at which point I didnt know if I was to follow him so I asked "should I go with you?" He raised hand motioning me to follow. Your people need a lot of Customer Service training and heart searching because the problem seems to be with your management. I would never tolerate this in my own business.

As a contractor, I shop/compare material constantly with supply houses and the big box stores. I rarely find Lowes/HD cheaper, and Menards has a better selection - at least for electrical. I also like that they advertise and seem to carry more items that are made in USA. If you have a business or large order talk to contractor sales. They -depending on the item mark-up - will often give discounts. EDIT *** They no longer offer discounts to contractors unless it is a bid situation*** If you ask where an item is, the employee almost always will walk you to the item - even if it is on the other side of the store - instead of telling you what aisle they think it is in. I dont remember that ever happening at Lowes/HD.

Worst customer service ever , tried to talk to a manager on the phone and was left on hold for over 20 minutes and no one ever picked up . When I went in to the store and asked for a manager I waited another 15 minutes and no one ever showed up. I made an online order that said everything was in stock and would be ready for pick up . Low and behold they only had 2 of my 3 items and said the other one was on back order and that I would have to wait and come back when the 3rd item came in . If you plan on ordering on line you better call to confirm that everything is in stock even if the web site says it is .

The layout of the store makes no sense whatsoever. Related items may be completely across the store from each other (for example, plumbing items seemed to be scattered across the entire store). Aisle numbers dont even make sense (for example, aisle 37 is nowhere near aisles 36 and 38). By the time I found the areas where the items I was looking for should be, I found that they werent even carried. Giving two stars because the staff was at least helpful. One guy called up another department and wandered the store with me trying to help me find one of the items that was ultimately not carried by the store.

Very good! After long period of shopping, became quiet exausted & still not finished with everything, son-in-law asked if there was a place for me to sit a bit. Girl at contractors desk brought a stool for me, not sure but her name was Melinda I think. Very grateful for her kindness. Lady at checkout very efficient and capable. Yong lady who helped with finding proper lights for my requirements, very knowledgible(sp) & helpful. One unpleasant experience with man working at contractors desk. Hateful but wont kill me. All else AOK.

Purchased drywall at the desk and drove to back to get it. The top ones were broken and covered in dog poop. Took 10 minutes to find help because the workers were all in a group chatting. Finally my mother in law got us some help and the guy had us move the to layers and he put the sheets we needed on the fork lift. Another worker walked up and started complaining. He said very loudly "ugh! They could have just put this on a cart". They were very ride in general, but that just took the cake. Ill go somewhere else.

Building our pole barn has been a disaster. The constant measurement mistakes (they were given exact measurements of the structure), incorrect ordering of materials, missing materials, poor quality of customer service and their inability to own up to their mistakes has led to a job that should have been completed in a few weekends to lasting almost two months. I have never been so dissatisfied with Menards. Do not let Robert or Mary help you with your pole barn.
