STAY AWAY FROM NISSAN of MENTOR! I purchased a 2013 Nissan Maxima from them in October 2014. In April 2015, I started noticing a loud noise while turning my steering wheel. I called Nissan of Mentor several times to being the vehicle for service but they never had a loaner car available. They only gave me an option to drop the car off then walk over a car rental company to rent a vehicle. I purchased my car certified, and loaner vehicles are covered when your car is being serviced, but they fell short on that promise/policy. I finally was able to get the car in for service in May 2015 with a loaner vehicle provided. It took them two days to call me back just to tell me that nothing was wrong with the car. On the third day, they called to tell me they found the problem. Gerald, called and stated, “Ms. Price, your steering pump is bad and it going to cost you $900 plus dollars fix it.” I asked him, “How can my power steering pump on my 2013 has gone bad…I just purchased the car and it’s a newer car plus it a certified used car?” His responded with, power steering pumps are not covered under certified checks and your warranty just expired. I suggest you call Nissan for help. I called Nissan and they flat out rejected my request for assistance with coving my repairs on my 2013. I decided to look over my certified documents and they do state that steering was checked. I called Nissan back and they refused to help me. I questioned the General Manager regarding the vehicle being checked out before being certified and he stated, “The vehicle past the certified check. I then asked him how did the steering pumped passed if it has gone bad in several months. He answered with, “we can’t check the steering, and it is not possible. I then questioned him on why was it listed as one of the things checked? Of cause he had no answers and referred me to speak to my salesperson. What can the sales rep do? Sell me another lemon. Thank a lot Nissan of Mentor! You put a sour taste in my mouth and I will never purchase another Nissan vehicle again in my life. Save yourself from the lemons they claim are certify.

I dont usually write reviews unless I have had a particularly good or bad experience but I am compelled to post this review about Mentor Nissan for 2 reasons. First, the Service Department here is AMAZING! I came in today to have my oil changed and they had me in and out in under an hour. Not only that, but they found a nail in my tire, pulled it out and plugged the tire without charging me for it! The second reason for my post is because of the rant that I just read from the customer on the last post. My husband and I were actually in the dealership buying a new Pathfinder the same evening that this guy claims he was being insulted. Tom actually happened to be our salesperson and was VERY helpful. This guy had been belligerent from the time he entered the showroom. He berated his salesperson, started mouthing off at a manager when he was asked to leave, finally did leave only to come back and try to tackle our salesperson Tom. Finally, he had to be escorted off the premises by four Mentor Police Officers! We watched the whole thing go down from the garage our Pathfinder was prepped in waiting to leave because this guy had the whole lane blocked! My husband and I wish they would have let the dogs out! Its truly a shame that guys like this can be perfectly fine with bad mouthing others simply because hes a miserable human being. These guys really are GREAT and will take care of you. If you dont believe me, just go check them out for yourself!

Bought a used truck from them summer of 2016 around June. Had no problems with the truck until about 2 months after we bought the truck. Later that winter the E-Brake light came on because the intermediate cable broke and took it to ESS Automotive to get it fixed. He (our mechanic) informed us that the truck had no E-Brake system on the truck. My father and I then went done there to Mentor Nissan talk to them and ask them why there was no E-Brake system on the vehicle and if they would give us $450 to put it on there since they sold us a truck that had no E-brake system on the truck. The salesman and Assistant manager came back over to us and told us that they took the E-brake System off the vehicle when they received the truck on their lot. We asked why was a new E-Brake system not put back on the truck and they replied because they wanted to save money and then make some money. They ended up writing a check for $200 because we said that we were going to take them to civil court and that $200 did not even cover all the parts or the labor to have the E-brake system put on the truck. I strongly recommend that if you bought a used vehicle from Mentor Nissan around summer of 2016, that you take your vehicle to your mechanic and have them inspect them to make sure it nothing was removed and not replaced. I also do NOT recommend buying a used vehicle from them at all.

My husband was headed back to TN for Christmas after weeks of delays (Hes in the Air Force). Wed already encountered a lot of issues and half way home our old neglected Frontier (245k miles) finally gave out. We bought it from his father and it had NEVER seen a dealership. When they finally got the car towed to Mentor Nissan the power at the dealer went out! It was seeming like a bad joke and I spent half the day on the verge of tears. They gave him a rental and he went to his hotel. Today they fixed the issue (fuel pump) only to find another that was a long-standing recall. Unfortunately they did not have the part. I am a Service Customer Relations manager at a Honda dealership so we expected a few issues due to the holidays. I fully expected him to be stuck there. Well he just called me and said they told him to take the courtesy car all the way back to TN and bring it back next week! What a blessing. Thank you all so much for helping my husband get home for the holidays! KCCO!

We walked around outside looking at cars for a good 10 or more minutes and No-one came out to ask if we needed help or want to test drive a car. We had to go in and find someone.... but shouldve just left at that point. When I wanted to test drive, the cars had little gas... couldnt drive on freeway because I was afraid of running out of gas.... just enough to go around the block if that. One car actually had NO GAS and wouldnt start. I wasnt able to bring home printed information about any car I was interested in, instead I was told to just look online. Not sure how they expect to sell cars that way. When we were leaving the sales manager talked to my husband to try to close the deal that they seemed to not even want to start. Extremely disappointed in the service and quality of vehicle maintenance. I will be purchasing elsewhere.
