First off, if you are young guy trying to get a car, dont go to this dealer. They will try to see you the stupid face and ask a lot of money for the car you want to buy. The salesman think they can beat any bank loan rate when you have a pretty good credit score, therefore, they will pull your score out to talk about prices. They could not beat a 4 or 5% loan rate that my credit union was offering me for a 2002 Toyota car. That being said, just ask for the cars paper and make the negotiations with your bank, not with them! This is my experience: I want this car, I am 19, 695 credit score........ 3 hours later........ $9800 dollars for a 2002 Toyota Camry... WTF... No, we never talked about price at all... I just knew about the car price, that is it. I did not know how much it was gonna be the fees. I told to the seller I wont be paying almost 10k for a 2002 Toyota car.... for the same price I can get a nice used 2004 Acura with the same miles on it. I spent 3 hours that day (sunday) trying to have a deal and in the end, the seller tried to see me the stupid face. This is the game they play: They put AWESOME prices on internet and when you go to the dealer to see the car you saw on internet, its now $1k more expensive. You ask for discount and they will give you 1k off. You are getting the car for the same price established on internet. Then they will add taxes, fee, etc.... guess what?... those fees are equal 1000, so now you will get the car for the same price before getting the discount. If you are smart, they will get the money they want for the car, PLUS, they gave you 1000 dollars discount based on nothing. I have read a lot of comments which says: I got a fair trade in deal for my car." Let me tell you something: If you get 4k for you car (trade in), they will sell your car for 8 or 9k...... 2 weeks later or less, it will be sold. So only because you were lazy and never tried to sell your car to a private buyer, you lost 2 or 3k dollars.

I cannot say enough good things about Byers Toyota. I came in looking just for information on a Sienna I had seen on the website and had already had a negative experience the previous day with a huge name Toyota dealer and was nervous to have the same awful experience. I had no reason to be nervous. John Hess was professional, helpful, personable, and truly amazing. He helped me on the phone prior to coming in and when I arrived, he answered every question I had and listened to my concerns when we talked about numbers. He let me know worst case scenario what things would be like and helped assess my needs. In addition, I was so worried about losing the vehicle that John worked hard to ensure it didnt happen. When I returned with my father that afternoon, John and his staff were quick and efficient. We always knew where we were in the process and never felt overwhelmed. When we went back to finance with Ryan Meeks, we were again pleased to find someone willing to take their time, answer questions, and treat us as people rather than just trying to sell us something we didnt need. We were offered things based off of driving habits but never given outlandish add-ons that would not benefit our family. Byers was so laid back and I was never pressured into anything or hardballed into a deal I was unsure of. I would recommend Byers in Delaware to any family or friend. Its only been a day and Ive already told many co-workers where to go when they are in need! The best thing about Byers was their staff. Everyone remembered who I was the second time I came in (I came in in the morning and again in the afternoon with my father) and were kind and friendly people. I could tell they werent in it for themselves or to just do business, but to earn a customer, and they succeeded. I will never buy a car from anywhere else again. Thank you, Byers, for restoring my faith in humanity when it comes to car sales!

We have 5 Toyota vehicles that are all religiously serviced at Byers. Daniel Kelly and Gynnae Britton are two of the best service managers I have ever worked with for my vehicles. They are superb. However thats where it ends for Byers. We have been loyal Byers customers for over 6 years. Bought a new 2013 Tundra and new 2016 Prius from Byers but recently they have been disappointing. The new car manager does his best to retain loyal customers however their deals are not competitive to local Toyota dealers. My son was dealing on a 2012 Tundra but the used car manager was not competitive at all and we purchased a used Tundra from another dealership. My daughter just recently tried to deal on a 2006 Tundra but the used car manager would not negotiate on the Tundra price (even though the rear tires were barely street legal). Our trade was a 2013 Scion and they would not even show wholesale price on our trade. We even tried to trade on a new 2017 Rav4, Camry, or Prius but were not able to reach a fair price. After spending in excess of $10k on service repairs over the last six years on our 5 Toyotas at Byers, I was highly disappointed when it came time for new car purchases to be negotiated in good faith. We went to Tanskys Toyota in Columbus and saved over $2200 on a 2017 Prius trading our 2013 Scion. I even contacted Byers to match the deal and they declined. Customer Loyalty is not part of the Byers culture anymore. I am very disappointed with how my family is treated by the sales managers at Byers. I am not one to post on social media. However, I post this so others will not be taken advantage of as well. Buyer beware. Service is great but check your best deal with the local Toyota dealers. You may, like my family, be taken advantage of by Byers sales managers.

I first would like to say that I was a returning customer. We thought of buying even though Toyota is having issues with safety with most of their cars. My wife happened to see several commercials pertaining to the Highlander. She stated that she change her mind, though she was skeptical about the acceleration issues they have had. She wanted to test drive the vehicle, she was also thinking of getting an Acura MDX. So we drove 15 minutes to the dealership to see if we could possibly test drive one of those vehicles. My wife got a feeling that they didn’t really want to be bothered with us, but I didn’t mind, they were probably watching the game. So they gathered some information including my driver’s license and insurance card. He returned my insurance card but keep my license as they looked for the vehicle. As 30 minutes past he came out saying that he can’t find the car and was still looking for it (I am thinking if you don’t have the car why waste my time). So spouse of course upset and not in the mood and was ready to go. So I had to go to the desk, while the man called the guy who literally walked around the corner a couple seconds before he called. He brought my driver’s licenses out. I explained that we will be leaving, he asked when will you be returning I simply replied “not sure when.” I will not, I gave Toyota the chance to recuperate after their lost because, of safety issues they attempted to cover up. I have had my pedal stick (several times after mat taken out) too and almost gotten into an accident. Tire wear and brake fluid missing issues have been something going on with my car and it is not even 2 years old. Bottom line Toyota or Buyers will not get my business and I will spread the word. This has made me a Honda person. Thank you
