Living in Ohio our options for upscale shopping is limited. The closest Neiman Marcus is near Detroit, a four hour trip for me and Chicago is the second closest location, a five – six hour dive. So Saks is pretty much what I depend on for most of my high end and designer purchases. I have come to depend on a few select salespeople that know me at the Columbus Saks. I enjoy the personal attention and their willingness to go above and beyond to make sure I am completely. In particular, I want to acknowledge Katie in Chanel handbags and Amber Kish in La Prairie cosmetics. However, my last experience at the Columbus store was not up to the standard I have come to expect. I was there on the Saturday following Thanksgiving. I wanted to get my daughter started with La Prairie skin care which would require talking to someone who knows the products and could suggest items that would be appropriate for her particular needs. I contacted Amber before our visit to ask if she would be working that day. She told me she would not because of being on temporary medical disability but gave me the names of Jason or Maggie saying they should be able to help me. However, when we got there I was told both of them were off that day and nobody else in the entire cosmetic department knew anything about La Prairie. In the past, when Amber was off, I encountered associates that at least tried to help. On this particular day, I got the impression no one wanted to even bother to try and help us. I was prepared to spend hundreds of dollars that day. But I left not wanting to give this particular location my business and am inclined to find these products elsewhere in the future. I also want to add that my daughter is an Active Duty member in the Air Force and will be deploying in the spring to Djibouti for six months. My intent was to get a skin care plan together for her so I could buy things to send to her while she is serving our country half way around the world.

I was referred to Helene a personal shopper at this store. I expected there would be a snobby sense of attitude and pressure to buy the most expensive items. I was WRONG. Helene made sure everything was in my price range, and yes, she asked me for very specific information before I arrived for my appointment. When I saw her fitting room I audibly gasped. She had pre shopped based on my needs and had a fitting room filled with my colors, sizes and must haves for winter. This will be my first real winter, as I am from Dallas, so I needed extra help planning for the cold weather. I was surprised that it was so easy. No pressure, just a friendly helper to navigate through the merchandise with an honest eye. Helene even offered to let me know of future events and merchandise I may be interested in adding later. Via email we have already made plans for a future appointment once Im officially settled in the area. For the final touch and lasting impression of working with her: Helene scoffed at my idea to just turn back the cuffs on my coat. She said, "This is Saks Fifth Avenue, we custom fit the clothes for you!" And with that a fitter named Esther appeared with pins and chalk to mark my new coat for shorter sleeves.

Great store with nice designer items, but for a high end store theyre not close to being the best. The sales people and workers walk around thinking a little too high of themselves. By the time someone walked over to me and the makeup counter, I was already ready to leave. The shoe section is excellent and the staff (especially a sales man named Joe who is the best!) Clothing section is great too. I think theyre all good actually except the makeup and perfume areas. They did mess up my shoe order multiple times and i actually never even ended up getting it so thats what really shocked me. But other than that, they need to teach their staff to be on their A game and not walk around talking to eachother.

I went to Saks Fifth Avenue to buy this certain $425 mens cologne. The retail sales rep was nice at first but started to be rude when I was asking questions about this cologne because I have a deviated septum and some colognes will trigger a headache. Lets say I went to Nordstrom to buy the cologne. I plan on returning to Saks Fifth Avenue to buy this cologne when Im out to test this rep again.

Best salesperson Ive encountered. Ever. In the high end shoe department who, at the end of her day, sent me pictures of every pair of shoes in the size I sought for a gift until we found the right one and the right size. And the next day, when I picked them up, packaged them in multiple boxes, layers, bags so the recipient (my daughter-in-law) would never guess. Bravo, Stephanie, and thank you.

Top notch all the way. Great designers and really knowledgeable and polite sales staff. Shopping in the Mens department is like being invited into their living room. Tony and his staff are outstanding! Sure the prices are higher but you get what you pay for.

Such an amazing store. It sells some of the top designers in clothing. The prices are very expensive, but the clothes are so awesomeeee. I like to go to Saks for some retail therapy even though I have only bought things a couple of times. Great for prom dresses!

So I wanted to buy these pants it was $76, but it was apparently full price at $190 when it was rung up. I asked the sales person if there was a mistake. She went to ask 3 managers and they all gave me different answers.

The mens selections are a bit limited compared to Saks in larger cities, but overall, the womens selections and cosmetics sections seem to be excellent.

The best place in Columbus to shop. Everyone goes beyond to help you and I always feel so welcome as soon as I walk in the door at Polaris.

There is one white blonde lady that works here is conceited and arrogant with the way she talks to costumers.
