I am writing in regards to two alarming situation that I encountered at Kmart in St Clair shores MI, store # 4177. Issue one is over the customer service and their lack of professionalism or her outright rude behavior to clients, second is the unethical business practice. I purchased a pair of dress slacks from Kmart 5 days ago, they did not fit ( too big) however I lost the receipt in the process. I returned the item today and let Margaret (register # 025) know. She told me that the item would be returned at the least sold price of the item ( the lowest it will ever sell) NOT the current selling price. This practice is completely unethical and I am sure illegal. The item, at the time of my returning of it, was still the exact same price as if I was to have stood in line and purchased it again. This is 2014, every store ( apparently except Kmart) refunds items without a receipt at the current price, that I understand, however telling someone they will get its lowing selling prices is an absolute rip off. I asked Margaret , so its possible the least price would be 0, she replied yup it could be and thats not my problem its the policy. I made it clear to her the item is still the same price and I will not take less then what it is currently selling for, she then reiterated to me that its policy and it is not her issue. I am flabbergasted that a person would be put in a position to work with returns whos level of apathy and manner is that of a person who has no care for the client, no care for the company she represents, and is willing to purposely cause conflict. I told her I needed a manager she stated back, shes right there! Well yes I see that Margaret but When I ask for one, the expectation is you are going to get her not me! The customers behind me even commented on her attitude and were talking with me how disgusting this policy is and had they known this they would not shop here. Which leads me to my last and final comment, does Margret realize that their are department stores outside of Kmart in the area? That I could go to target and return an item with out an attitude by a clerk telling me my , return is not her problem? Does she realize the economic state of Kmart and Sears stores and that isolating customers, provoking them berating them with attitude is not going to return loyal customers? Lastly I ask those who are compelled to read this email, if they would return to a store that purposely takes money from you on a return knowing the item is not selling for that price, meaning purposely ripping them off, and only reversing it when the client complaints to upper management. If you purchased an item at $30, went to return it and its still being sold at $30 but are only offered $15 back, would you still shop at that store? Then add that the customer service representatives attitude to all of the customers is, " its not my problem". No thank you! I will gladly pay a few dollars more for a product, knowing that I will never have to experience this type of rude, disrespectful, apathetic employee as I did today.

When there on Sunday and all registers where closed. You could only paid at the front return counter or the jewelry counter. I went to the refund desk. Im standing there 1 guy and 1 lady walk in together to refund a TV. A few minutes later a women gets in line and told the people with the TV she had to pay for her stuff. The people with the TV told her they were next. The lady went crazy and told them she was going to kick there ass in. I asked the work behind the desk to call a manager she did call NO MANAGER EVER CAME. The women is yelling she was going to kick there ass again. At this point I told the worker to call security she told me there was no security I asked about manager again no show. I paid for my items started my truck from inside ran to my truck locked the doors and took off like a bat out of hell. It was A BLACK AND WHITE PROBLEM. I will never go back again

Kmart sucks no matter which one you go to. The customer service employees are rude, the managers are in a different world, they actually think kmart is in the top 5 department stores. You are all going to be out of a job by 2017, when kmart goes out of buisness for good. Keep charging stupid prices for junk, you guys are like nintendo, once upon a time you were decent, but quit throwing the cover over your head pretending your still on top when no one likes you anymore. The only reason anyone shops at your stores anymore is strickly out of conveinience, for those whom dont have transportation.

I liked Kmart in the past but the cons outweigh the pros. I was in there a few weeks ago and the heat was off. In January. 2nd, the clothes racks are so jammed that if you take one thing off, a lot more items fall off the rack with it. Store is unorganized. Cant fit your cart in a lot of the tight clothes area. Store employees on the floor are sparse. Store is outdated but they do keep it clean. Workers are friendly. Every single time I have been here there has always been long lines.

I have shopped at this Kmart for many years. It almost always has what Im looking for and is my absolutely favorite Kmart to shop at. You cant judge a store by 1 bad employee. Maybe policy has changed and the women mentioned in an earlier post has to enforce it. Shes probably the one to have to put up with disgruntled customers. Whatever the case, Its a good store that is struggling. SHOP THERE, I dont want to see it close.

Kmart always has some great sales, but their customer service is horrible. Hopefully you get everything right when you go shopping there, because if you need to do a return or exchange....you better have your receipt or shop your way rewards number, and be prepared to deal with the nasty ladies at the customer service counter! Its like they belittle you for having to make a return, and/or give you the worst attitude ever!

It looks like this is going to be the only Kmart in the area as the Roseville store is slated to close. Kmart is Kmart but you can always find good values here, and for a bargain shopper thats good enough for me. Recently, I was on my way to the gym and need shower shoes. After the sale price rang at the register, I got them for 50 cents. I ran back and got a whole bag full! Visit often to run up on bargains like these.

They almost shut down a few years ago. They should have. Kmart is dead.... Same goes to their affiliate Sears. They have no selection, theres never any costomers in the store yet it still looks disorganized. Prices are higher than any other department stores. I only shop here if its convenient. But they never have what I need and it takes the checkout employees 20 minutes to get through 3 people.
