The following experience in itself is worth the 20 dollar lifetime membership. In preparation for a 7 day, 82 mile backpacking trip hough yosemite, I bought a pair of Solomon hiking shoes from their website. After putting over 150 miles in them on the trails, they started to rub the ends of my toes raw. REI took them back and let me pick out a new pair of whatever I wanted off the shelf and applied the credit from the Solomons towards my new ones. Heres the kicker; I put 50 miles on those shoes, and I started to get heel slip in both of them. Back to REI they went, and again, I got to go get a new pair of a different shoes. Nobody even gave me a hard time about it. The fact that they will take shoes back for up to a year from date of purchase is amazing to me. Keep up the good work!

Full disclosure: I used to work at this store. The staff here has changed a bit since I was there, but I still get the service that Ive grown accustomed to over the years as a co-op member. REIs one year customer satisfaction guarantee cant be beat for the money. That all being said, I like keeping my money local, and small businesses are important. This store will continue to get my money for footwear and high priced items simply because of the 1 year I mentioned.

Awesome place to bring your bike for a tune-up or other work. Ive dealt with Matt mostly, who always takes loads of time to evaluate the condition of my bike, explain what will be needed parts/labor-wise and ultimately do the work in a timely manner. Invariably the bike rides better coming out of Matts shop than when it was brand new. Ive dealt with many shops and mechanics over the years, all of which pale in comparison, in my opinion...

Always have a great time here. The staff is extremely friendly and even more knowledgeable. It never feels like theyre trying to "sell" you anything. Theyre just there to teach you about whatever product youre interested in so you can make the best choice for yourself. Love it!

Not the store it used to be. Some of the clothes seems to have lower quality and the prices seem higher than in the past. Are they trying to do too much? The bicycle and watersports sections of the store are too tiny to be really useful. Staff still seems friendly.
