I live in Powell, Ohio and took a trip to The Outdoor Source in Upper Arlington because I heard about the Gear Sale and wanted to be able to take my boyfriend to check it out. The staff was very nice and made sure we didnt need any help or had questions multiple times. I really enjoyed that there was a girl working, Mary was her name I believe, as I never know what works best in different jackets and such for men. She was very helpful when it came to making sure we knew what we were getting. I know asking men about fit, size and underwear can be a bit uncomfortable. As a woman, getting feedback from another woman made the experience much better! When jackets didnt fit the right way she brought other options to the dressing room which was super helpful so I didnt have to go and search and feel lost in an area I dont know. At the end, she explained the events the store hosted and signed us up for the membership so we could receive further updates on sales and events since we are not familiar with Upper Arlington. I will be recommending this store to my friends and family! I know that we will be coming back in the near future! The shop was very well organized and clean. The staff is very knowledgeable. Keep up the great work!

The Collection

I was sent to Outdoor Source by my favorite sales person at Aspen Ski and Board. I called first to find out if they had the winter boots I was looking for and Eric (I think that was his name) was EXTREMELY helpful! They didnt have what I was looking for because of how late it is in the season but he suggested a few other places to look. He then went on to explain that if I didnt find the boots I needed at those other stores I should stop in and he would set me up with the next best thing. Its very difficult finding winter boots in March and he was so amazingly helpful. I am very thankful for his help and so happy to support a small business! Shop local, shop experience and knowledge!

The outdoor source it the only place I go for equipment I have bought 2 kayaks Tents Jackets and many accessories from there. Some times you get a blunt answer about a product you are looking at. But most of the time there advice was against buying the most expensive it was for buying the most practical. I buy things from the store even when I know I could save a couple of dollars online. Sometimes the Advice of experts is worth it even if it not what you want to hear.

We use to love this store, but not anymore. We tried to go to their Polaris location last week to use our reward that we earned. It was closed down. Called them today and they said the $100 reward expired yesterday and we are out of luck. Wow! What great customer service when there are so many competitors to choose from. I hope it was worth losing our business over.

Very knowledgeable staff! I was considering a small kayak or canoe for fishing..but wow, the Hobie Cat Mirage was amazing. It is a fishing machine! The staff was very knowledgeable about the accessories and helped me find the right product! I definitely recommend Outdoor Source if you are looking for a kayak, stand up paddle board, or canoe.

Its not dreadful but the selection is kind of small and the staff are almost annoyingly helpful. I prefer to be left alone to browse or perhaps just have an "Im here if you have any questions" shopping experience. Having someone come up to you and randomly offer all manner of commentary on an item youre looking at is annoying.

If you are looking for rock climbing shoes, they have a small selection. I would call ahead to get an idea what they have to offer that day. However, if your looking for a weekend warrior outfitter, this is the place for you. The rest of us will have to continue sizing up where we can and ordering online.
