Absolutely love this place. Friendly staff, amazing products, great coffee equipment, and a unique and peaceful environment. Not to mention the music playing was all my favorite songs. I am from out of town and engaged in conversation with the barista about what to do while Im in town. Coffee shops that roast their own coffee are the best of the best and this place roasts so many different kinds of beans to choose from. Being a barista myself, I know that creating a fantastic cup of coffee takes time and it wasnt even a long wait at all. Infact it was sort of fast! I dont understand why someone would give a bad review about specialty coffee taking a little bit of time. Cant wait to visit again when Im back in Cleveland!

This has hands down the best coffee in Cleveland. For a coffee enthusiast it has every brewing method you could want, aeropress, french press, pour over, etc. Ive started buying coffee by the pound here, and while a bit pricey I am getting what I pay for, excellent coffee. As far as the interior, Rising Star is a bit lacking on space but makes up for it with a stylish rust belt decor. Further, the staff is arguably the most knowledgeable about coffee in the city and are more than happy to help you learn and decide on coffee choices. Above all they are friendly and go out of their way to know your name and welcome you. I highly recommend Rising Star.

Not a fan. Went to the Ohio City location thinking that they would take over my daily coffee habits but, I was wrong. The guy serving me was a pompous hipster that refused to give me what I wanted and when I tried asking for explanations, he looked at me like I was crazy, then proceeded with snoody 1-2 word answers. I will NEVER go back again. The best coffee place in OC is by far Phoenix theyre friendly and super helpful and dont judge you just because you asked a simple question.

Serving their specialty coffee with a heat resistant decanter makes Rising Star standout among a lot of specialty coffee shops. This little detail, which I think is huge, tells me that Rising Star cares much about my enjoyment of coffee. They offer a variety of brew methods including a small batch brewed in a Fetco, which rivals pour over brewed coffee. The jams on the speakers add to the hip vibe. They use a sweet Synesso for espresso. They also sell Ritual Chocolate.

The pour over is unbelievable. I usually enjoy cream in my coffee but I wouldnt think about drinking this anything but black. Ive heard a lot of people complain about the lack of good coffee in Cleveland but Rising Star really changes that - Id say its better than a lot of brews you can get on the west coast like Blue Bottle. Just dont plan on hanging out here with your laptop for a while, theres not really seats or space to hang out besides the patio out front.

I had an excellent experience today at the Little Italy location! I didnt grab his name, but a really friendly barista with light blonde hair made me the best cortado Ive had in the United States. Not only was it delicious, highlighting the citrus notes of the coffee, but he had it ready for me to take to go in about one minute. Thanks for the great service! Im definitely coming back.

Best coffee I ever tried. Great staff, they really know how to make coffee. Capuchino feels strong, but very mild to taste. They have two kind of espresso, one with chocolaty taste and another with blueberry taste. Pastries is another good story. Their rougulach reminds me my childhood, every time I come here I buy all the rougulach they have. Otherall great job!

I went in not knowing what to order, and left with one awesome drink! Cold coffee with some chocolate milk! Its just perfect! Workers as well as a couple of other patrons I talked to made my experience that much better! Not only will I be back, but Ill be spreading the word about this place!!! <3

Cool little coffee shop location (its in an old firehouse- you can see the firemans pole behind the register). Friendly staff that takes card. Plenty of brewing options available as well as coffee options. Note: they dont roast at this location (different place down the street).

We had a great experience in your Little Italy location. The store is beautiful and the staff were very friendly and knew their stuff. The coffee was great too. I especially appreciated the written list of coffees available for pour over. It was worth the drive over from Erie.

Coffee was good but the woman behind the counter was giving our group weird looks and snotty quick responses to our questions. It seemed she was not interested in the product the company was selling, some suggestions wouldve been nice. The atmosphere is very nice inside.

I love everything about Rising Star Coffee - the high quality of the coffee, the interesting places theyve chosen for their shops, baristas who are both laid back and attentive at the same time. Great pastries too! The Cardamom Bomb and the Star Tea are my two favorites.

Fun location. Take a box of Farkas pastries and youll be all set! Ryan was so kind and offered to bring us plates and forks when he realized we had a box of pastries from somewhere else. So wonderfully accommodating that I invited him to enjoy with us :-) great people.

This is one of my morning stops on the way to work. the coffee is great and the Scones are tasty! I wish the to go cups were better quality though, they barely last the trip to work before the sides start leaking. other than that, great place!

A gem of Hingetown, Clevelands best new hood. Solid patio for working and attentive staff. Didnt even ask and someone brought me seltzer water outside. Will definitely continue patronizing the Murray Hill location, but this is the new favorite!

Great Indie Coffee Shop. Interesting range of beans, some exotic, as well as many brew methods. Fine espresso macchiato served with a sparkling water chaser. All in an interesting repurposed building in an emerging revitalized neighborhood.

I wish I knew more about coffee because I dont think I was able to fully appreciate how good their coffee is! I had the Promised Land latte (steamed milk, honey, and cinnamon) and it was amazing! Also had a delicious chocolate chip cookie.

Their espresso completely changed how I think about that drink. They are in another league. Also, the staff was very friendly and having a great time making the drinks and jamming out to the sweet tunes. Great atmosphere.

Great atmosphere and attitudes. Staff obviously have a good time at work and enjoy what they do. The baristas are very talented and knowledgeable and work fast so the crowds arent a problem. Definitely a local diamond.

Meh, I wasnt impressed with the taste of my cappuccino or my wifes iced coffee. I also wasnt impressed with the selection. No creative or unique options? Ill be going someplace else when Im in the area next.

Coffee was excellent, the smoked cheese bagel was the best bagel Ive had, and the donut made with stout was fantastic. Ill drive 3 hours to Cleveland again just for this place.
