Stopped in here for a bite to eat while we were in town for Grandfather mountain. We were so pleasantly surprised! The food was really simple but really great, the coffee was nice and hot and smooth, and the lady who took our order was very kind and quick. The place was super clean (had a NC cleanliness rating of 101.5, which Ive never seen before) and decorated real nicely. Overall a great find!

River Dog Coffehouse & Cafe was the perfect breakfast spot on our trip to the area. The food was fresh & delicious, service excellent, and had the best coffee. We made it a point to stop there every morning before we headed out for our daily excursions. Would highly recommend this coffee shop to anyone looking for a delicious/affordable latte & breakfast.

Really wonderful coffee and the best blueberry scones Ive ever had. Driving back to Tennessee late that evening, two friends and I craved a refill of both and, if the cafe were open (unfortunately it was not), we would have gone out of our way to return for seconds. Its on our "must stop" list for future visits to the area.

Worker handling food with bare hands Rolled his eyes when I asked him to wear gloves. .I reported to management and they said it had been a busy day. Very slow, inaccurate service in the past. Management couldnt care less. Will never go back.

Best & ONLY organic coffee lattes & beans to buy in bulk in the area!!! Great lobster bisque. The black widow organic coffee beans are amazing!!! Cute place...too bad theyre so far from Banner Elk. Near Linville hospital @ 221 & Newland Hwy.

My fiance said this was the best coffee in the mountains. I went by one Sunday not knowing they had been closed for almost an hour and the owner stopped her car and offered to open back up just to serve us. You dont find that anymore

Great coffees and they serve breakfast. Food was quite good, service was great and the atmosphere very pleasant. Basically, took a page out of Starbucks playbook, added some light food service and its works well. Recommend it.

Great coffee and staff with great personalities. The lids on the coffee are the best! Little slides much like coffee mugs you buy at the store. The scones are a little pricey, but are delicious. Highly recommend.

A bit lackluster lately as staff seems distracted learning a new cash register system. Coffee is good but baked goods limited; no cooked food today for some reason. Rethinking my morning coffee stop now.
