I never leave reviews, but I strongly feel its warranted. I went into Meierotto Jewelers to get a watch repaired. While waiting on the person attending me to find out pricing, parts, etc., I was browsing other watches when a salesman approached me asking me if there was anything he could help with. I mentioned seeing some gold Nixon watches online that caught my eye but didnt see them displayed. He said they were doing something with the case/watches, but hed go back and retrieve the gold ones. He brought 3, one caught my eye, the watch was priced at $500 (Nixon Model no. A4861922). When I say one caught my eye, I mean I picked it up and looked at, but never tried the watch on. I also answered the mans question when asked about how much my budget would be. I said itd be around the price of the watch, but still being super hesitant. Why else would the salesman go and try to get the price knocked down from the manager? As he walked away, I pulled out my phone out and started comparing prices (I later was told cell phones are not allowed, not by the salesman attending me). He came back and told me they would sell it for $420. I informed him I wasnt interested because I could get it for $346 on Amazon (weirdly enough, the price is now $350, whatever - $4 difference). At this point the person attending me for the repair came back and asked me to follow her to the register, which I did. As she was entering all my information and ringing me up for the repair, the salesman and the manager walked up to the register. Or, the way I would describe, bum rushed me. The manager at this point put on a full court press. She told me shed let the watch go at 20% off and said, "Thats more than a fair offer." I told her I still wasnt interested because it was still more than Amazon. This is where the 1 star is merited. After I told the manager I wasnt interested, she posed a question to me. Asking me if it was ethical for someone to come look at a watch, try it on, then walk out and go buy it on Amazon. She also said their prices are a little higher because I could bring the watch in for repair by people who specifically work on those watches. I told her that getting a watch repaired there is still more expensive. I provided an example of an inquiry Id just made minutes before. I was told itd be $100-$120 to fix the crystal face on a watch at this store. It would cost me $50 to send it into the manufacturer. I also informed her my purpose for being in the store was not to buy a watch, but to get my watch repaired. Furthermore, I didnt inquire about trying on or looking at any watches, I was approached. Had the Nixon watches been displayed in a case, I would have say "No thank you, dont need any help." I forget the exact number of times I had to tell the manager I wasnt interested before she walked away. Two, maybe three. Needless to say, I told the lady attending me for the watch repair I was no longer interested in getting my watch fixed with them because I felt like I was being called unethical. Not to mention the managers SUPER condescending voice while speaking with me. Her response, "Thats not what she meant." I grabbed my watch walked away in disgust. Still said thank for your help though! Im interested in seeing if theres a response to this review since I tried to be as non-biased as possible. I also tried to include all the facts and be as detailed as possible and include the whole story. This happened a little after 11am on 12-18-15 (several hours ago), the date of this review. Also, the tone of someones voice can make a huge difference. Had the lady been sweet, nice, and courteous instead of condescending, I would not have wasted my time with this.

A couple months ago I started looking for an engagement ring for my (now) fiance. I went to Meierotto because I had quite simply heard that they were the best. I had heard correctly. : ) Jenny happened to be one that was helping me that day. We spent hours going through everything they had, looking up rings online, finding ones that were close to build from, etc. It was amazing. When I saw a ring online, she even spent the next two weeks calling everywhere to see if she could get it in person for me to look at to compare to the one I had selected!! When I finally made up my mind, she even was able to rush the setting because we were leaving the country within the week! (To Propose of course! :) If all that wasnt enough... I proposed in front of her familys farm in the Mountains of Colombia (yeah, gorgeous) the week of Christmas.. but when i went to slide the ring on her finger.... it didnt fit!!! Absolute panic. I frantically called my mother back in the states to see if she could contact Meierotto about getting the ring adjusted when we got back in town a few days later to announce our engagement! A big point of having a shiny new ring is to show it off with family and friends afterall! ; ) My mom spoke with Carol about our desperate situation. She immediately took it upon herself as if this horrible situation was happening to her own family and made it an absolute priority for us to be able to be squeezed into their busy schedule in time for our announcement. I have traveled the a large portion of the world, and I can say that there are few (if any other) individuals that will treat complete strangers as if they are family they way that she did. To say that Carol and everyone at Meireottos went above and behind, is an egregious understatement. We will never be able to thank them enough for making sure that our time to shine was truly special. As we pulled away from the store, my fiance looked over at me and said: "there is a reason that family owned stores are the best, they just get it! We will never buy jewelry from anywhere else." Thank you again Jenny, Carol, and the rest of Meierotto for making our engagement a unique and unforgettable dream come true!

I went to have a ring made with my own gold and my own diamond. The price I was quoted was $550. I put down a $200 deposit and had the ring sized and decided on a style. I also exchanged two more smaller less expensive rings, a 10K gold necklace and a 10K gold Nike pendant. The sales woman I worked with initially stated that the additional pieces I would exchange would lower the price. I figured with the pieces I exchanged, the price would go down at least by $100 so I would end up paying $450. They also stated that if the price would end up more than initially discussed they would call. Approximately 3 months later I get a phone call stating my ring was ready. I am a police officer and I left for the jewelry store after work. I arrived and looked at the ring. It was nice but the design was a little smaller than I thought it would be. It was fine with me though. However, when the sales woman told me that the remaining balance would be $394, the wind went out of my sails. Not only did the price go up, I got NOTHING in exchange for the pieces I gave up. I felt that I was held hostage unless I gave them their price. The gold was from my father and the diamond was from my grandfather. I told them that the ring held a high sentimental value and they took great advantage of that. They knew that I would have paid anything for the ring and they ripped me off because they could. This is coming from a police officer. If they are willing to rip off the police, I fear what they will do to regular customers. Be very weary and demand that they evaluate any exchanges you might have and get that evaluation in writing. I will not be returning to this place and I will urge all my friends and department members not to waste their time there as well.
