This dress shop is fantastic. Alterations are done in house, which is a big plus. The women are so friendly and helpful, I must have been to the shop about a half a dozen times before I ordered my wedding dress. I had tried on my dress at one of the expensive boutiques in the area, who were trying to charge me several hundred dollars more for the dress off the rack because they said it wouldnt be in in time for my wedding that was 5 months out. The girls at Special Occasions were able to verify that it would be in on time and did all alterations in house. I was so nervous about my dress since I tried it on 2 sizes too small and was unsure how it would lay. They made sure the dress laid just right and fit exactly the way I imagined it would. I would highly recommend that if you find a dress somewhere else that you like, order it from them. They are much better priced and include alterations! You will not be disappointed.

I have had one great experience after another at Special Occasions. I got all of my high school dance/prom dresses from Special Occasions and always received great customer service and I loved the dresses. I also went to Special Occasions for my wedding. My dress was beautiful, and so were my bridesmaids dresses and my tuxes. I love that the alterations are included in the price of the dress and that the alterations are done onsite (both are rare to find these days). I am very short (52") and the hem on my dress was perfect. They measured my dress with my wedding shoes on so that it would be exactly right for my big day. I am shocked by any negative review of this shop, as I have gone to them for years with no problems. I guess you just cant please them all! ;) I would definitely recommend Special Occasions to my friends and family members!

Unfortunately my experience is a lot different from the reviews posted about Special Occasions. I understand management is changing over for the store as of right now. A few months back when I ordered one of the bridesmaids dresses, the lady ordered the wrong color of the dress and if it was not for me looking at the receipt, we would have been worse off. I picked this last bridesmaid dress for my wedding for one of the girls in my party. Upon looking at the dress, I thought it looked bigger. Had my bridesmaid try on the dress and it was way too big. To my surprise , the tag said size 6!! My receipt says size 4!!!! This is ridiculous. As an establishment that provides to weddings - there is hardly room for details to be overlooked. Maybe with management changing the shop will not have these same issues.

Special Occasions saved my daughters wedding! Seriously! We had ordered a dress in March from a popular outlet on Benson Street and less than a month from the wedding (8/29/09) it was still not here and they could not guarantee when it would be in, etc. A friend recommended Special Occasions and they found another dress for my daugter, located one in stock and we had it in a week. Her alterations were tricky as she is very small and they kept patiently working with her until it fit PERFECT! By the way they carry Mori Lee even those Mori Lees website does not list them and can order lots of dresses in if you do not see what you want on the rack - plus alterations are included in the price of the bridal or bridesmaids dresses. AWESOME EXPERIENCE!!!!!!! I have to say I was very pleased with Special Occasions. I found two dresses online that I loved and I called around Cincinnati where the Designer said you could find their dresses. I gave up because none of the popular/Bridal district said they had it in a sample. Then before giving up, I decided to call Special Occasions. They had both of the dresses I wanted to try on. I felt very welcome and the two ladies were not pushy. I had experienced pushiness at other popular bridal shops which almost turned me off. Alterations are included in the price of the dress. I would recommend this place for any special occasions!!!! Thank you!!!!

The staff @ Special Occasions are just amazing. They are friendly,helpful, and truly care about your experience. Ive purchased dresses and rented tuxedos. There are never any surprise expenses. I sent my son in to get his prom tux,they helped him choose everything including a beautiful corsage. Im glad we have a Special Occasions in Amelia. Its the place to go for all of your dress,tux., and flower needs. Youre NEVER treated like youre just a number.

I could not be more pleased. The ladies at the shop were so nice, professional, and accomodating. The experience was first class. The dresses were gorgeous and they were priced right. They could order anything that we wanted. They followed up with phone calls and really kept us on track, Thank goodness! Wonderful experience!!!! My wedding dress looked FANTASTIC along with the bridesmaids, and tuxes! The prices were the cheapest of all the bridal stores I checked.
