First things first, I NEVER post things about stores... but after going to Amelia petco, I have to say something. So about a week ago we bought live rock to start our salt water tank. After talking to a couple of workers we started realizing they didnt know anything about salt water.. When asking "how do you acclimate salt water fish here" we got the response. "Same as fresh water fish and wait 5 mins, and pour the whole thing in". The guy knew nothing about drip acclimating... So today while we were there I noticed 8 of there 16 tanks are infested with ich and clamped fin. I spoke up and let the girl working there know about it... So what does she do, oh just add tap water (which said "do not use tap water on tanks"!!!) She also just said "yea no one ever treats these tanks". After dealing with that we looked for a manager but none were around, so I told the other girl working about it and that treatment needs to be done.. take a guess what her response was "oh yeah, the fish specialist has been dealing with it for a while and we keep getting it". So my question is, why would you let us buy stuff out of your tank knowing you have ich. I worked at a pet store for over 3 years and know for a fact YOU NEVER SELL SICK ANIMALS OR LIVE ROCK!!! Ill give them 2 starts for the dog section..

I was devasted by my yorkies grooming experience. The girl I checked in with was so friendly and thorough ...so decided very few mats and picked the longest length possible for her coat and to grind her nails. They told me to expect to pick her up around 5 and should have know when they called me 2 hours earlier that something was up. They shaved the little dog and she was limping with one paws nail bleeding. No apologies, no calls first to ask, just said she was matted although she was groomed 3 weeks earlier. The dog is freezing and I have to hire a private home to board her because it is too cold now for her to be kenneled. NO APOLOGY just oh well. What a sad day for me....consider your self warned.

Took my kitten 2 different times to get his nails trimmed and the first time she did a horrible job called Manager and he told me all about how good the lady who trim nails is and how kitten can be hard to trim . So like a big dumb I when back 1 month later and thought they were done right but 2 weeks later I when somewhere else and they trimmed his nails and asked me if I trim his nails I said no they told me whoever trimmed them forgot to do a few of them like the whole front right paw . Never will go back .So please catch your pet before leaving cause if you call back the Manager will give you excuses instead of just saying sorry for your bad experience .I

We recently stopped by this location with our dog to look at collars. Training collars in particular. There was a skid of stuff blocking the training collars, which made it very difficult to make a selection and to see the prices. The employees seemed to be too busy restocking items to ask us if we needed help. Weve been to this location a few months before and found employees to be helpful but not on this occasion. I dont know if well be back.

Its a pretty standard petco. Their selection probably has whatever youre looking for and the staff is friendly, helpful, and are always ready with a free cookie for your dog. They often have adoption events in store. The grooming service was fine but with everything like nail-clipping and ear cleaning being considered "add ons" for additional fees there are definitely cheaper places in the area.

I love this place! The staff is friendly and helpful. Always clean and they take excellent care of the animals. I get lots of advice from them on care for my animal. I once bought a tub of 50 superworms to find there were only 6, the next time I went in I brought this up and was given a new tub for free. They own their mistakes and treat their regulars very nicely! I will be a forever customer.

Pathetic experience, the overall customer service is below par. Been trying to get my dog groomed time and time again. After finally getting an appointment, comes to find out my vet didnt give my dog his rabies shot because the fear of my dog being allergic to most things. I will not buy, attempt, or try to get my dog groomed at Petco again.

For other than dog or cats there beside s very limited selection, overpriced broken, open or defective items are knowingly left on selves. This store has rapidly gone down hill since opening. Current staff appears to have no knowledge on safely capturing birds reptiles or fish and even less knowledge on thief care.

Store is clean, but there are often dead animals on display. Staff also give very bad animal advice to beginners, such as keeping Betta fish in bowls or tiny tanks, and saying ball pythons do well at room temperature. I only go for supplies for my animals and advise everyone against buying animals here.

Worst Customer Service EVER..! They Do Not Know How To Treat Customers At All...! If you do go to Petco, go to the one off 5 Mile because they will actually give you the time of the day and treat you like a human...!

Overly high prices, walmart has the same brands with better prices! & me & another customer stood at the check out area for 20 min before i had to go find an employee so we could pay & leave! Poor customer service!

This place is great. The staff is always very helpful. We come often to play with the ferrets and they are very giving of their time. They have all kinds of supplies that we buy from them at a decent price.
