I am writing this review after attempting to reach out to the company both locally, and as a national brand with no return communication. The Fargo, ND is locally owned, and after several attempts to hear back from someone, my calls and e-mails have not been answered. My experience with Ashley Home Furniture begins Labor Day Weekend 2016. After visiting several other furniture retailers, we were happy to come across the Starmore bedroom set. That day, September 5th we purchased the entire Starmore collection, to include the queen-sized bed, chest of drawers, nightstand, dresser and mirror, and end table. Additionally, we purchased a new queen size mattress. During that interaction, we discussed the specific delivery date we required. October 14th was our closing date for our new home, and on that date, we wanted the new furniture set delivered. That was confirmed, by both parties. You can imagine our surprise when the 14th came, and we had not yet heard anything from Ashley Home Furniture or any associate. On October 14th, I physically went into the store and spoke with Wade our salesperson, asking for information about our delivery. He said, “Oh, didn’t I call you?” He had not. He informed us that the furniture had been oversold and was now on back order all the way into the new year for select pieces. You can imagine my shock, when we were informed this news, as no one had made any attempt to let us know the situation at hand. We were expecting furniture, which we had already paid for, as well as a mattress to be delivered. While I can understand that items being oversold is not within an associate’s control, communication on all fronts is. At this meeting in the store I was told someone would get back to me within 24 hours on any update. I did not hear from anyone. I called the store two days later asking for information. I left a message and my call was never returned. I AGAIN physically went into the store the first week in November, as we still did not have a delivery date, nor had I been contacted with any updates. A very similar interaction happened when I again went into the store location. Wade was surprised that no one had called me, and informed me the soonest we could possibly get furniture was after Thanksgiving. Keeping in mind, we had purchase this furniture September 5th. I did receive the furniture in question on November 16th. Here is where there is another issue. When the bed was delivered, they were missing the hardware pieces to assemble the bed. The delivery men informed me someone would call me 24-48 hours later to let me know the status of the missing hardware. On November 28th I again went into the store. Wade was working and at this point, again he was shocked no one had contacted me. He connected me with someone from delivery via the phone. She informed me they would have to order an entire NEW bedframe, as they could not just order the parts to assemble. At this point, Wade walked away and had us to talk to Barry the store manager. I explained the entire story to Barry including that our intention had been to purchase additional large items from Ashley, but based on this experience I have no faith in Ashley’s service. He did not at any time apologize to us for our inconvenience or do anything to rectify the situation. He said he would see what he would do, and connect with us the following day. November 29th at 8:45 pm, Barry called us to tell us he didn’t have any news, but since he said he would call that was what he is doing. Perhaps Ashley does not value my business, but I can assure you, I will not only never purchase from Ashley again. This is bad business, and there has been no communication, or apologies for lack of communication along the way. Based on this horrific experience and poor customer service, I will never shop with Ashley Furniture again.

Here is my complaint! My fiance and i have been in this store twice looking for a couch, we walk in and are not only greeted, but followed like a damn puppy following its owner, but worse. I told the lady right away we are just browsing, she said, she will check up on us soon. So we walk around looking at couches, and 2 minutes later, she is back! Is there anything in particular you had your eye on? I said no we were just looking and we will be fine, she walks away and no doubt she is back 4 minutes later! Finally I said, mam if I have a question, I will look for you! Ok? So she walks away. We left. We were just there yesterday again looking at sectionals, and a lady, not the same one, greets us, I said right away we are just looking, and if I have any questions, I will find you, she said ok. Well guess what happened after 4 minutes? She was right next to the couch we were looking at, she started talking about how good the price was, I told her mam thank you but again, if I had questions I will find you, so she walks away. We started walking to this other couch, and sat down on it to see how it felt, and again!! She is there! She says, this couch is very nice and soft, I stopped her and said rudely this time, mam! Please I told you if we needed anything i will find you, ok? She finally finally said, she wont bother us anymore! But we were disgusted and left. I wont ever ever go back there again! It isnt right to tail someone when they are shopping! They are worse then car dealerships. I like to go in a store and take my time and browse, not having someone ask me every 4 minutes if I need help. Goodbye Ashley Furniture.

Until our furniture was delivered, the whole process with this Ashley Furniture location was superior. Our salesman was excellent, we loved the sectional -- bravo to the store team! My only complaint goes to the warehouse/delivery staff. As soon as they arrived at my home, before even trying, they told me the sectional wouldnt fit down our stairs and hallway. They told me Ashley should have measured (which wasnt necessary), and again...that it wouldnt fit. They asked me if they should even try to get the furniture in (Well, yes, youre delivery men, right?). After one attempt they gave up, and left me with an ultimatum. They can take the furniture back now, and I ask the store for a refund/new selection, OR theyll leave it in the garage and let me try to do it. At this point, I knew they just wanted to leave and didnt care one way or the other -- they didnt even take time to brainstorm or try another lifting method. So I told them to leave the furniture. Well wouldnt you know...my Father-in-law came an hour later, and the two of us got the furniture in our downstairs room no problem. It looks beautiful there -- And to think they were pushing me to RETURN the furniture?! What a heartache to our salesman that wouldnt been. How many people do they do this with on a daily basis to avoid working a bit harder? They were only at my house over 10 minutes. I say this because it directly affects the stellar service I got from the store, and salespeople! We love the sofa though, thanks to the Fargo Staff!

I have had nothing but trouble with this company! We ordered a couch and recliner and were told they would be in in a month, two months later we finally got our furniture! The couch they sent home with us, after a few weeks of waiting for a technician, was found to have been all bad wood! The tech pushes it through and says we should have a replacement in a few weeks! It took over a month to get the replacement couch due to the fact they had the wrong item delivered to us and failed to tell us the item was on back order! That brings me to today, weve had the replacement couch for about 4 months and now the wood for the back support is tearing a hole in our wall! We called and set up a date for the technician to come out and then today came and nothing, I called and got transferred 3 times to be told they were supposed to come out yesterday and that we were gonna have to reschedule for over a week later! There is no Customer service from this company, the dont make right the issues they cause they simply push them back!
