A specialty store chain done right. Although things are more on the pricey end (especially upstairs), you can find some good deals sometimes. I recently bought a $50 MSRP Gerber EDC knife from the upstairs for $33, brand new. Theres also a good selection of gear upstairs in proportion to the size of the store. The staff is more than friendly, and are specialized in every aspect of the store. The downstairs left is filled with specialty clothing, but its a little overpriced. The downstairs left is very popular to the children of Hendersonville, as its filled with old-fashioned toys and candies that you wont find anywhere else in Hendersonville. Its also a popular stop for those at the nearby Hendersonville High School to come by and get a Cheerwine or a Mexican Coke. That reminds me, they have a good (but small) collection of old-fashioned and craft sodas here. Only place in Hendersonville where I can get a Blenheims Ginger Ale. In all seriousness though, its worth checking out.

Such an eclectic and wonderfully curated selection of goods! It was so fun to wander around the store with my family (ages 15 months to 71 years old), and everyone found something enjoyable to look at. The employees were all really friendly and eager to offer assistance. My uncle jokingly asked an employee if he could have a free sample of some candy he hadnt eaten since he was a kid, and it was a nice surprise when she told him that he could! We found a lot of wonderful items to take home, and some prices were less than what we saw elsewhere online. Cant wait to return here again soon!

Definitely a fun place to shop, with a large selection. Vintage-style childrens toys and games, camping and outdoor gear, and clothing. I have only rated it 4 stars based on the high prices compared with other local venues. In short, looking for a great gift or clever decorations for around the home - this is the place to go! If you are needing sleeping bags, tents, and other more expensive outdoor gear I would consider shopping around.

Mast General is perhaps one of most interesting stores that appeals to me, women and children alike. So much to see and so many unique items that you dont find in ordinary stores. We have visited several of their employee owned locations and have enjoyed "finding treasures" in this one. If you get the chance, visit one of the original locations in Valle Cruces.

Horrible hours for a local business they close at 6pm when most people eat and shop after work on mainstreet! Very unfair to the locals who want things and are not on vacation and retirement time... Shame they care about the $$$ and not local support !! Will shop in other local general stores!

I think this mast general has more everyday clothes as compared to outdoors clothes when you look at it next to other mast general stores. That said there is good variety here, good prices and sales, and usually a little clearance rack of clothes right outside the front door in the street.

This place is very cozy and the staff is wonderful at helping you find what it is that youre looking for. The merchandise is a little overpriced, but it is a very quaint place to shop. It is located around several things that are worth doing. The town itself is very beautiful!

I have been here once and this is now one of my favorite stores! It has EVERYTHING! Not to mention the candy section is amazing! ;) This store has such a good vibe and is so unique, I just love it! Make sure you grab an ice cold cream soda before you go!

Gosh I love this store! Apparel, gifts, old time candy and games, plus the creaky wooden floor. Parking is the only issue, but they are downtown, so thats the way it goes. Unique shopping experience though. Great to take out of town guests to.

Great old-timey general store has a little bit of everything one needs for a mountain lifestyle. Penny candy, cast-iron cookware, hiking and camping gear, and a very helpful staff! A must for any visitor and Hendersonville resident.
